How would you build this team?
I see a lot of talk here about what trades they want, who should go, who we should draft etc. So lets say your hired as the Warriors GM with this current roster going into the offseason. We finish around 30-35 wins but luck our in the lottery and get the fourth pick. And just for the heck of it lets say Don Nelson retires (for whatever reasons). How would you build this team (be serious, don't say trade for the Lakers or something like that)? Who would you get rid of? Who should be the coach?
One option that seems to be where we are going is building on a young core much like how Portland did. They actually drafted their starting lineup. We could use the pick on a small forward like Wesley Johnson or Evan Turner or maybe even Devin Ebanks. Turner is a three position player that resembles Brandan Roy, Ebanks is much like a Rudy Gay/Travis Outlaw and Wes is a Caron Butler type guy but a much better shooter or Al Farouq Aminu who seems similar to Luol Deng. We could use a good small forward that can score and play solid defense so Monta doesn't have too guard 6'8 type guys. The team may go through some bumps but eventually could become a major force. Building around Monta Ellis, Stephen Curry, Wes/Ebanks/Evan/AL, Anthony Randolph, Andris Biedrins, Anthony Morrow and Brandan Wright (don't forget about him) doesn't seem to shabby does it? All those young guys have great potential.

Come on, how many years can you not move up?
Or we could go with the Boston or Orlando way of doing things with trading/free agents. We could go about this by trading for expirings like a Corey Maggette for Marko Jaric (7+ mil coming off the books) or we can do a Maggs and the 1st rounder for Butler. Maybe Wright could go on the block? We also could use the money coming off of Raja Bell's , Devean George's and Speedy Claxton's contracts. Maybe although it sounds awful we can let Azebuike's deal off the books so we can try to give a max offer to a Joe Johnson type of guy. Basically swing for the fences much like Boston did.
Lastly the coaching situation which is tricky one so heres a quick list of some good prospects:
- Keith Smart , GSW - Players seem to respond well to him and currently is taking on Nellie's job of coach on the road trip.
- Avery Johnson - Tough love type of guy but had a lot of success in Dallas.
- Byron Scott - CP3's close friend and was the coach when the Nets were in the finals.
- Brian Shaw LAL- Oakland native and main assistant of the the world champs. Also former player
- Tom Thibideau BOS - Celtics main assistant and a great defensive specialist.
That's just a few options but if you have another go ahead and say it.
So how would you build this team with the given situation?

Why isn't Law playing?
When we did our trade with each other a while back now I think I speak for most W's fans when I say we were sad to see Acie Law leave so soon and with all our injuries we could use him. But I'm here to ask where has he gone in your rotation? When he played for us he played very well as a nice energy guy. He moves the ball really well and is a great driver and is a solid shooter and as a defender he works really hard. And I do pop in every now and then here and I see a lot people complaining about Felton, DJ and Murray. All of which saying there not good enough passers or they can't hit a shot. I think your rotation is really screwed up right now and could use a guy who can give 10 - 15 minutes as an energy guy. If you moved Flip Murray to the 2 it could open up some minutes for Law and then you can let Gerald Henderson who needs more minutes play some 2 and 3 since there seems to a lot of frustration with Graham playing so much. As I see it you guys need a quick energy guy after seeing you guys play and Law fills some of your needs. ( numbers show minutes played they *should* get)
PG - Felton ( 20-30), DJ (20), Law (10 - 15... more if Murray is off)
SG - Jack (30-35), Muray (20), Henderson (15+), Law (see above, he can play both)
SF - Wallace (30-35), Henderson (see above), Graham ( 5-10)
PF - Diaw ( 25-30), Brown (15-20)
C - Chandler ( 20 -25), Nazr (20-25)
This way Law is playing in the rotation and Henderson gets some good playing time at two spots. Personally I think you guys should trade Diaw and a filler for a more physical power forward. Or you guys should draft someone like Cole Aldrich.

What's our gameplan?
Watching the game against Houston made me go crazy when our "gameplan" collapsed and we fell apart . At least when Keith Smart was the coach we had a game plan and didn't just say screw it lets play iso. In fact I don't remember very many Corey Maggette isos the last 5 games. This games coaching was a travesty.
On the first note why does Mikki Moore still start? The coaches can't possible think he's better than Chris Hunter. Or no matter what your opinion of Anthony Randolph is he gives us more of everything than Moore, including a future. What's the point in starting him? Also yes Vlad has played great lately but we can't count on that every night. A front court of Hunter/Ronny/Andris and AR is much better than Moore and Vlad.
Now to the game. I'm tired of Maggette, I say dump him for contracts or package him the our 1st rounder. In a half court offense where everything is ran through a point guard where things will be designed for him he may be fine and that's why in LA he wasn't this bad. But an offense that thrives off ball movement he just has no place in. Now to Monta Ellis, the guy is pure all star caliber material and no matter what Vlad or Morrow did he needs help. Not just in production but in the minds of the other team. Teams think of us and put there whole gameplan on defense around stopping him while leaving one guy to try to get Morrow. Who scares anyone on our team other than these two? Also the turnovers are coming from him not be a great ball handler in a Nellie offense as the main ball handler. Remember last year with Jack? It's not as bad but could be. So why not let the better ball handler and passer Stephen Curry be the point guard he is? Having CJ in more than him creates issues where Monta has to always have the ball in his hands and when it's in CJ's hands Monta does not get involved enough. Also why would Monta play so much when he is sick? Why not spare him 10 minutes and go with Steph and CJ?

Even when talking about AR I don't see Nellie giving a good effort in developing him, he seems very uninterested. The guy can play, lots of young guys are out of control. It's just a phase in his career he will get past, so why not let him get 20 + minutes a night and gain experience? But even though he is young and still very raw he rebounds, scores, blocks shots and brings a lot of energy which we sometimes lack. This also goes back to Moore where is this supposed to be a message by starting him and benching Anthony? I just don't get Nellie's plan anymore. Or what even goes on in his mind during the game. But I know what he is thinking about at halftime when he should be making adjustments...

ESPN insider says Andris is about half way through his recovery. If anyone has the full article can you say if there is an official timetable?

What's Anthony Morrow's future role with this team?
Lets get this out of the way, he doesn't like too miss very much. He is the best shooter in the NBA by far right now. He's a good rebounder and is starting too get better on defense. But With Curry and Ellis showing that they can work and will and are working well together it's obvious Morrow won't ever be starting at shooting guard for us. What about Small forward? At 6'5 210 he may need to get stronger and he may be a little short to be playing it but in the last couple games he has played great there. But can he be a full time starter there?
He looks good there now but once this season is over we will get Kelenna Azebuike back and he will surely reclaim that spot right? Wrong. As I see it either one can start and I would be fine with it but Morrow needs to polish his game a lot more. But they would have to compete for that job if our roster stands pat. As of now he can shoot and well.... thats about it. He's getting better at putting the ball on the floor and passing but even Ray Allen developed a driving game. But is small forward suited for him? Or would he better as a 6th man type shooting guard getting 20+ minutes off the bench?

That shot went in.....
If someone isn't moved there will be no minutes too go around. You would have Maggs, Buike, Morrow, Ellis, Curry, a rookie, and Vladimir Radmonovich all getting minutes at shooting guard/small forward. Someone needs to go because Morrow is a key part of our future and is just as much a key as Curry may be. Azebuike may leave since he can opt out but since he's injured it's unlikely, Ellis leaving? Sorry Monta haters he's here to stay, Curry? No. Vlad? Probably not. Maggette? He's can maybe be thrown out as trade bait in the off season for an expiring deal. Even if he does have a good year he should not be apart of this young teams plan. I think Maggs has played great lately and I'm not ripping on him but for Morrow's sake he should be traded. Maybe if Washington gets *really* desperate for more draft picks and we package him for Butler with our 1st round pick? That clears a contract and Morrow can safely say he will be getting 20+ a game (more like 25 - 30) and saves us money and not to mention even better ball movement. Or if they won't buy it we can trade him for Marko Jaric, it's not pretty but gives us an expiring. Lets say he isn't traded, there is no room for a draft pick or playing time for Morrow. But then again if Buike leaves there may be no need for a trade.
Morrow's skill sets says he is a 2 but is capable of the 3 if he gained some muscle which he may do. We have lost most of our games this year when he scores 9 or less. Kinda suggesting huh? He needs playing time and shots and he will get that this year but his future may look uncertain if we keep all of our wings. So where is his future? Future starting small forward? 25 - 30 minute a game sub? Only a marksman who comes in at certain times?

Rudy don't even bother trying against him....

A risky trade, would you do it?
Would you trade Maggette for Caron Butler? But wait there's a catch, we give up our 1st round pick. We have looked good lately and I think this could get us back in the playoff picture but at what cost? Gain an all star and lose a bad contract, lose a 1st rounder. Would you do a trade like this? I know Maggs has played well lately but it's an interesting thought.
Just seeing how far we are willing to go.

Who watched the fight?
Wow, Andre Ward is a beast. He did in his hometown as well. Great fight Andre and congrats on being the world champ
Random side note, I saw Monta ring side and I have to say that he had one snazzy suit. Morrow and Curry were also there.
