Really well done video of the Clippers-Celtics game; It's like a trailer.

Another setback for Shaun though I expect someone will take a chance on him. He's come so far after rehabilitating from one of the worst spots injuries.

Thornton doesn't want that sacrifice to include a bench role, but Coach Mike Dunleavy strongly hinted that rookie forward Blake Griffin will take Thornton's place whenever Griffin fully recovers from the stress fracture in his left knee.

"If we're a fully healthy team, maybe that role would be a good one for him," Dunleavy said about Thornton coming off the bench. "But based on where we are right now, we kind of need him where he is."

AT really doesn't want to be a bench player as this article, and ones before it, have clearly shown. I was interested to see how Thornton would adjust with Griffin playing in front of Camby. Al has been getting some nice post up's with Camby being a strong facilitator from the top of the key; Griffin plays in the paint.

From the Twitter feed of Los Angeles Times Clippers beat writer Lisa Dillman, Eric Gordon has a sore left groin.

The Clippers' Al Thornton is dealing with losing his spot in the starting lineup. Accepting it, but, of course, unhappy about the demotion.

"If you ask me now, the coach is doing what's best for the team," he said. "Of course, I want to start. I'd love to start. Like I said, he's doing what's best for the team. When I get out there, I just got to try to be effective."

Thornton smiled, adding: "We'll see how it plays out."

He said he has been pressing. That, among other things, has led to Rasual Butler's supplanting Thornton at small forward in the starting lineup.

Too much thinking?

"I think so. I think it is based off instincts," Thornton said of his game. "I've been second-guessing myself a lot. You can tell a lot by my play. I've just got to rely on what got me there.

"It's up to me to change it. I've just got to find a way."

Ailing Clippers

The Clippers have not been feeling well, suffering from a variety of symptoms. First it was Steve Novak, who felt the chills and was unwell for a couple of days early in the week.

Thornton missed practice on Thursday but made the trip to Oakland and thought he might have eaten something bad but wasn't sure. Craig Smith pointed out the culprit in his discomfort: a sandwich. He said he was vomiting before, during and after the Minnesota game.

Clips Nation Timberwolves trading rights to Rubio?

There's not much proff this is real other than Yahoo rumors reporting in but there source is not stating it's confirmed but still, wouldn't be suprising with Flynn looking to control the team and not having any room for Rubio on the roster.

The Minnesota Timberwolves spent a lot of time and money trying to get Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio to come play for them after the team drafted him fifth overall this past summer. Team bigwig David Kahn flew over to Spain a few times and tried to work out some sort of crazy buyout but obviously nothing ever worked out and Rubio is now playing for FC Barcelona.

Rubio is still saying he wants to play in the NBA someday. Presumably that's what he intended when he declared himself for this year's draft, too, and that didn't seem to work out. The Wolves aren't bothering themselves to picture him in their jersey anytime soon and it appears that the team will try and trade the rights to the guard before next year's NBA draft, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

...the word from HOOPSWORLD's Eric Pincus' sources in and around the Clippers is they are not actively looking for a deal. If Sessions falls into their lap for cheap, they'll do a deal, but they aren't going to go out of their way to make a deal happen. Reportedly, $5 million per season is richer than they'd like to spend.

New York Post - Gary Sheffield asked the Mets for a contract extension, the club rejected the overture and now Sheffield has threatened to leave the team and head home, two sources told the Post.

As of 6:30 p.m., one of the sources said, Mets officials and Sheffield were in discussions on how to move forward. Mets pitcher Tim Redding actually said he heard Sheffield had been released. But a Mets official told the Post that was inaccurate and that Sheffield had not been released.

"I continue to hear that the Knicks remain the 23 year old's last remaining legitimate option," writes Hahn. "The Clippers seem content with their roster and the Bucks just recently made additions (Carlos Delfino and Roko Ukic) that suggest they are ready to move on, as well."

"According to Hahn, the Knicks are ready to sign an offer sheet at around $4 million per season if and when Sessions accepts."

Clips Nation Could the Clippers move in 2014?

There was a story this morning from Hoopsworld (after the jump) about some possible teams that could find themselves moving due to economic hardships. Though the Clippers aren't a likely candidate for a move, they are a possibility.

I'm sure we've all thought about the possibility of a move, though under Sterling’s control it’s that more unlikely as he loves it here in LA. But you always hear Anaheim as the destination that would best fit the Clippers. It would move us out from the shadows of the Lakers and the Clippers would officially have their "own" fan base.

I personally would hate it as I live here in LA so it’s convenient for me to travel 15-20 minutes to catch a game but I’ve come across a few people who are open to the idea. Our lease expires in 2014; will the Clippers renew it or look elsewhere?

I suppose a lot depends on how the team is performing. Hell in 3-4 years Sterling could be fed up if this team doesn't make a turnaround. Anything is possible.

The cost reportedly was one of two Double-A pitchers Brad Holt or Jenrry Mejia plus Jon Niese.

By the looks of it seems the article was published before the Clippers made the trade (only a few hours apart mind you)

But we are a confirmed team (quoted by Sessions agent himself) that we are 1 of 3 teams making a play for Sessions.

Not sure if Telfair eliminated us immediately but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Hope we're still pushing for him though.

Clips Nation Von Wafer with the Clippers?

Not sure if anyone has caught this but I accidently stumbled upon some Rockets chatter and heard someone mention Von Wafer twittering about joining the Clippers. I mean this should be taken with a grain of salt but still interesting he mentioned the Clippers. I believe Camby mentioned he was talking to MD about FA's when he was interviewed at Vegas Summer League so maybe he was someone the FO is looking at.

Thoughts?
