Gang Green Nation The Incredible Mike Florio Strikes Yet Again

Rex dots opposing players, so not to get him into trouble, but why should he get to do that, when the Saints, who are not really that bad, apart from that Gregg Williams thing, got punished so severely?

The incredible Mike Florio is at it again, writing about Rex Ryan's quote on dotting opposing players. This M.F. blatantly fails to appreciate that Ryan wants it "to be legal and by the book". Florio states that "The goal here isn't to get the Jets in trouble", while at the same time wondering "Why has the punishment only been confined to the Saints?" And capping it off in the end that he is hoping that the NFL will be "tellilng Rex Ryan it's no longer acceptable to 'dot' opposing players".

MoFo writes that when he read Ryan's book, he "applied a Post-It note to that paragraph" even though there wasn't anything "scandalous or improper or worth mentioning". However, "In the wake of the Saints' bounty investigation" I suppose he decided now would be a great time to posit that Rex "has condoned - and coached - the habit of knocking opposing players out of games."

The incredible Mike Florio incredily argues that "The Saints didn't want to injure players, notwithstanding the cartoonishly graphic urgings of former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams." Yes, notwithstanding that. Withstanding that, they probably did want to injure players and get paid extra for it.

In other words, Rex dots opposing players, so not to get him into trouble, but why should he get to do that, when the Saints, who are not really that bad, apart from that Gregg Williams thing, got punished so severely?

Yes, I know I shouldn't even have wasted everybody's time by responding to this. But we can all use extra hits on our blogs, I suppose. I'll just end this with a quote from Rex himself from the same blog post:

We don’t play dirty, and no way will we intentionally hurt a player with an illegal, cheap shot. We dot players fair and square. There are players out there who think they are badasses, and you just might see two of our players knock the hell out of him.

Post your comments below, or simply move on with the rest of your day.
