Nets Season Tix, Lower Level All Access at a Discount
I've got my seats secured up for next year but I have a friend who got in on the yellow sections on the chart (now sold out) but now has to relocate out of the state and is looking to sell his season tickets at a discount.
The seats are in Section 122, Row 7, Seats 3-4 (so 2 off the aisle). These are All Access seats that will give you first right of refusal on all concerts, as well as all you can eat food at any concession stand. No club access though anymore available to anybody unfortunately, they are "at capacity" per fire marshall code.
The yearly fee on the pair of tickets is $11,000, but he's willing to take a loss on the first season by selling for $9,000, so that's a $2K savings right off the bat. Since the seats are $125 each, that's essentially 8 free games (or your 4 lame preseasons paid for as well as 4 regular season)
Just to clarify, the ownership of the contract would be transferred to you. You would have 3 seasons with these tickets.

An animated gif storyline of this season - add your own!
It's been a season of ups and downs, so I figured it might be fun to put together a thread using animated gifs to describe the emotions we've felt this season.

Full Nets Games From 2001-2004 Seasons
I've been meaning to transfer my old Nets games on VHS tapes to my PC lately and I finally got started. I don't have every game of every playoffs, or every game of every season (I don't think I have any losses), but I do have a very nice collection that I'm beginning to transfer and upload slowly.
When I originally recorded it, I often paused for commercials and opponent's free throws, and then restarted once the game was back in action. This isn't always, and sometimes I'll miss a bit of action because I forgot to restart or was just late to the jump. Either way, there are so many incredible highlights from the Jason Kidd era to be found here. Most games are split into halves (A/B) unless I didn't capture the whole game or shut it off after a huge blowout.
I've stored all the files on FileServe which is my favorite online storage site for speeds, cost, and space. You'll likely be limited in how much you can download unless you sign up for an account, which I recommend doing. If you want, here's the link that will have me as your referral (thanks!): http://fileserve.com/signup.php?reff=T5n-U-sgv4k~
That said, here we go!
2001-2002 Eastern Conference Finals
Below is the list of games I've uploaded so you can check back to see if there's something new. IF YOU HAVE A GAME I DON'T HAVE (Indiana playoff series please!?), PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
ENJOY!

Breaking: "Loud & Proud" Mini-Plan Now Available!
As you all know, the Loud & Proud section was a big hit last year not only with fans, but within the Nets organization. So much so that they team not only offered us this section for every single game next year, but moved us to the lower level where we will be heard. Of course, the downside was that we were required to buy a full season package which eliminated a number of people from joining the club because not everybody can make every game.
But as the Nets have shown throughout this off-season, they've been communicating with their fans, and they've listened to us again. As of today, they are offering the Loud & Proud section on a mini plan of 20 games, without increasing the price.
As a current half season ticket holder, I didn't want to give up my normal seats to do a full season in the L&P section, but with a half season plan, I've already put my seat on hold and I know NetsKing has done the same.
As with other season packages, the Nets will be providing a full refund for any games not played due to the lockout. You just call 800.7NJ.NETS to order.
I'm in... who else is with me?

Congrats NetsDaily! Loud & Proud Will Be At EVERY Game Next Year
Thanks to everyone who first suggested this idea, and everyone who rec'd up my fan posts and help really start the movement. Thanks to the first group of people who showed up, and all the rest who sold out the second night.
We've got something great going here, and I believe will make an impact on the game next year, especially when we are faced with opponents who draw crowds into OUR HOUSE.
I look forward to joining you all next year.
My question is: would you purchase season tickets in a Loud & Proud section? In the comments section let me know what kind of season package (full, half, 10-12 game) or is it just a game-by-game basis?
I'll pass along what I find to the Nets marketing group I've been in contact with.

You wanted a loud section at The Rock? The Nets heard!
There's been quite a bit of talk here recently about organizing some of the more vocal among us and getting together at a game to create a bunch of noise. Well, I've been in contact with the Nets and they've read the posts and are offering a special opportunity to test out idea!
Here's how it will work:
They've allocated 60 tickets that they want to provide to their die-hard / loud followers. This means people who are willing to chant "DE-FENSE" all game long, start up some De-ron Will-iams chants, etc. They are offering these at only $10 per ticket for the April 5 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. They'll be in Section 120 behind the basket (good chance to yell at opposing players).
Some of their loyal followers on Twitter will be offered this opportunity as well, so if you are interested in being a part of this, email me at: elonepb@gmail.com and I'll pass your name, number. and whether you'll be loud, along to the Nets. But please, if you don't plan on being loud and vocal, and you get annoyed when people stand up during games, or you find the games interfere with your newspaper reading - then this isn't for you.
Any resale of these tickets is prohibited of course. Limited to two per order.
So what do you think ND? Is this something you are into?

Who was the best New York area team during the '00-'10 decade?
Now that we are 2 years into the new decade, I thought I'd do a little number crunching and take a look at who was the most successful team in the New York area over the 10 year period of 2000 - 2010. With a total of 10 professional franchises in the region, I looked at the following:
NHL: Devils, Islanders, Rangers;
Basketball: Knicks, Nets, Liberty;
NFL: Giants, Jets;
MLB: Yankees, Mets.
I examined their regular season for % of wins in a season and over the decade, as well as postseason success in terms of # of wins, % of postseason games won, playoff series wins, championship appearances and championships won. The following are my findings:
REGULAR SEASON:
The team that won the highest percentage of their regular season was the New Jersey Devils. However, there are minor caveats in that prior to the 2005-2006 season, NHL games could end in ties rather than shootouts (for purposes of this analysis I counted ties as wins). In addition, there was a lockout of the 2004-2005 season leaving a statistical gap that could have influenced the percentage (although it could have increased it since they had their 2nd best season of the decade the year prior).
The second team is the Yankees which is very impressive considering they played 878 more games than any NHL franchise. Obviously different sports with differing factors but impressive nonetheless.
The list:
- Devils - 62.47% of 738 games
- Yankees - 59.72% of 1,616 games
- Giants - 55.00% of 160 games
- Liberty - 53.13% of 320 games
- Mets - 50.37% of 1618 games
- Jets - 50% of 160 games
- Rangers - 49.19% of 738 games
- Nets: 47.00% of 820 games
- Islanders: 46.61% of 738 games
- Knicks: 39.88% of 820 games
The three worst teams of the decade in terms of percentage of regular season wins were the Nets, Islanders and Knicks. The Knicks were far and away the worst franchise in the area being nearly 7 actual percentage points lower than the Islanders. No other team was more than 4 percentage points worse than the team above them.
POSTSEASON PLAYOFFS:
This is a bit more difficult to put into numbers considering different sports have different amounts of rounds, requirements to advance, and games required to win. For instance in the WNBA, you need to win 2 games to advance. In the NFL there is a wild-card game for some teams, and 1 win = 1 round. Additionally, judging merely by % of wins doesn't really tell the story of success if a team only made the playoffs once or twice.
The team that won the majority of their postseason games was the Mets at almost 70% of their games. However, they only played 19 games (won two playoff series) which, when compared to the Yankees at 69 games, should really put them behind. The second best winning percentage was the Nets at 60% of the 68 playoff games they played in, winning 9 playoff series. Once again, the Yankees are up near the top at 56.62% of the 69 postseason games they played.
But here are some breakdowns:
Percentage of postseason playoff wins:
- Mets - 68.52% of 19 games with only 2 playoff series wins
- Nets - 60.29% of 68 games with 9 playoff series wins
- Yankees - 56.62% of 69 games also with 9 playoff series wins
- Giants - 55.56% of 9 games with 5 playoff series wins
- Devils - 50.52% of 97 games with 8 playoff series wins
- Liberty - 51.52% of 33 games with 7 playoff series wins
- Rangers - 45.16% of 31 games with 2 playoff series wins
- Jets - 44.44% of 9 games with 4 playoff series wins
- Islanders - 27.27% of 22 games with 0 playoff series wins
- Knicks - 22.22% of 9 games with 0 playoff series wins
Once again, the Knicks and the Islanders were the two worst teams in the area in the postseason, with gigantic differences in percentages of games won from the teams above them, and did not win a single playoff series during the decade.
Championship Games
Judging a percentage of wins isn't important here, but rather, making an appearance in the championship game (W/NBA Finals, World Series, Superbowl, Stanley Cup Finals). Here is the list of teams who made the championship game, how many times, and whether they won it:
- Yankees - 4 World Series appearances, winning it twice, 13 games won
- Devils - 2 Stanley Cup Finals appearances, winning it once, 7 games won
- Giants - 2 Superbowl appearances, winning it once
- Nets - 2 NBA Finals appearances, no championship, 2 games won
- Liberty - 2 NBA Finals appearances, no championship, 0 games won
In my opinion, it's clear that the Yankees are at the top of the pack here with two World Series championships won in 4 appearances. This easily gives them the title of the best team of the New York area, followed by the Devils and then the Giants. Championships mean everything.
The Jets, Islanders, Knicks, Rangers, Mets all failed to make it to the big show during this decade.
I think the middle of the pack are teams like the Nets who didn't make it over .500 of the regular season, but had great success in the playoffs, with two championship appearances. The same with the Liberty, having made it to the WNBA Finals twice during the decade, and winning more than half of their regular and postseason games.
Overall, it appears that the worst team of the New York area during the decade was the Knicks. They had the lowest percentage of regular season wins and postseason wins, as well as playoff appearances and games won. They are followed by the Islanders in this category.
Let me know if you are interested in seeing the spreadsheet on this.

Poll: Which jersey would you buy this year?
With the new Adidas Revolution jerseys now available and an "All New" cast of players, I've been looking to purchase a new Nets jersey. I'm probably going to wait until the start of the season, given all the potential trade rumors, but assuming Carmelo or other players don't come to the Nets, who would be your choice?
I'm the first Nets fan to open the Prudential Center
For those that have known me from back in the NJ.com days, you know that I USED to be a rapper when I lived in Los Angeles. Not very successful, and didn't want to be either. Just had fun with it while I lived among friends who were doing a lot of things in the industry.
Regardless, I just remembered that one of my songs was played live on CBS Saturday Night at the Prudential Center during one of their Saturday Night Fights shows they did a few years back.
Credits on the screen and everything!
Figured I would share with all of my fellow Nets fans. Pretty fun to think of your voice echo'ing across the entire Prudential Center.
Good video on old/new stadiums, including Nets
An independent documentary put together by some sports fans looking into the old stadiums, the new stadiums, what they've done (or haven't done) for the community. Includes discussion of the Nets (after the Yankees & Mets).
From the video description:
Stadium Status is a documentary which examines the rush of new sports stadiums in NYC as the latest example of an obscene national trend. New stadiums are built every year and the private businesses that own them benefit from huge sums of public money for their creation. Are we getting our money's worth?
Internets Celebrities are Dallas Penn, Rafi Kam and director Casimir Nozkowski
Featuring Neil deMause and Killian Jordan
Additional Cinematography - Ian Savage
Original Music - Bless 1
Stadium Status was funded by fans of the Internets Celebrities via Kickstarter including a sponsorship from our friends at DIYThemes -- the company behind the Thesis theme for Wordpress. We are grateful for everyone's support.
And with the third pick...
In the NBA Draft, the Nets select one of the most athletic power forwards in recent years, to fill that void that has been missing since Kenyon Martin.
Just watch this video and tell me you aren't even a LITTLE excited about this type of player on the Nets!!
Derrick Favors HoopsHype Video
Quick brief from NBADraft.net:
Explosive athlete with unique combination of power and quickness ... Possesses an extraordinary wingspan, with Georgia Tech official website claiming a 9-1 standing reach ... Tremendous leaping ability ... Frequent target of the alley-oop pass and seemingly nothing is out of reach. Runs the floor like a gazelle showing great speed from baseline to baseline ... Finishes with power around the rim - a dunking machine ...
Anyone want to go in on half-season in Newark?
A Nets fan here who has friends that are either Knicks fans, or don't have the money to put in on season/half-season tickets for Newark.
Just a friendly ping out to my fellow Nets fans to see if anyone is interested in joining me on a half-season plan for next year in the club seats. They have a 7 month payment plan which makes it easier.
Also would put you as priority for BK seats of course, if that was something important to you.
Let me know, drop an email address!
