Bball season outlook

I wanna know what everyone thinks about the upcoming basketball season. Even with Flynn, Devo, and Harris gone, could we potentially be as good if not better? This is how I see things.

I think Triche may be the key to this team...if he does well we have potential for another tourny run. Rautins at the 2 is a no brainer, Wesley Johnson at the 3 may be the best in the country, Ricky-J at the 4 has proven to be a beast, and Onuaku down low is solid. Sounds like a potent starting 5 with a good mix of youth and senior leadership. We have depth with bench players like Kris Joseph, Scoop, Dashonte Riley down low and James Southerland.

If Triche is half as good as Jimmy-B claims, and Wesley Johnson lives up to his ridiculous hype, you add Rautins Jackson and Onuaku and you have a nice little squad. What does everyone think?

Thoughts on Ricky Rubio

I think its amazing how everyone is pulling for their team to draft Rubio. I personally feel like atleast 80% of fans who want their GM to draft him have NEVER seen him play. Obviously I haven't seen him in person, but has anyone seen a youtube video on him? His shot is ugly and he zig-zags through the European talent (which there is no chance of him doing in the NBA). Even Jennings who has played in Europe with him says hes a bust and all he can do is pass the ball well, which isn't enough to be a star in the NBA. The hype is understandable because he has been playing European pro ball since he was 14, but look at all these European busts in the NBA that were supposed to be sooo good. It's a different game with not as much talent. I think everyone should go to youtube, watch a video highlight of Rubio's game and tell me if you can really see him being an All-Star in the NBA.

There is no doubt in my mind that I would rather have Jonny Flynn leading my team than Rubio. There is not 1 bad thing to say about Flynn other than his height. His 3 point shot wasnt the best in college but scouts say he has stood out with having one of the best 3-point range out of all the PG's in the draft. The kid just has "it"....the intangibles. At the end of the day, whoever picks Flynn in the draft will be regarded as a "great pick", regardless if he goes 4-15. Jennings is a stud though and you can just tell he has talent up the wazoo. The upside with him is tremendous and he could also be a great spark to this team.

Jonny Flynn

Holliday has "potential" and has little "experience". Jonny Flynn has proven himself that he can stand out in the best conference in America against all the big boys. Hes made big plays at big times and has that natural talent that you can't teach. Jennings has been in Europe and not doing that well. Holliday had a very mediocre year at UCLA. Flynn left only his sophomore year and still put up the numbers and is ready to help a team NOW! He reminds me (and himself) of Chris Paul at nearly the same height and ball handling. There is really nothing bad to say about this kid other than he may be a little small, but my point before of Chris Paul's size shows that height doesn't stop point guards from being outstanding players (look at Brooks this year in the playoffs).

Overall, Flynn not only brings excitement, but he brings a good image on AND off the court. He knows that right things to say, the right way to act, and how to represent a team. I hope the Warrior's snatch him up because this kid could be a stud in this league for a long time.

To remind everyone, Lebron James befriended Flynn after seeing him kill the competition at the King James Camp. Lebron thinks so highly of him that he told his agent to scoop him up (which he did). Weeks before Flynn signed with Leon Rose (Lebron's agent), Lebron had Flynn fly to Cleveland to sit and talk with him about basketball. Lebron sees this kid as a potential superstar.

I don't know about you, but I want to win NOW. Flynn will give us that ability, while Jennings has played overseas without standing out (against European talent) and Holliday has yet to prove himself other than a magnificent recruit out of high school.
