Arrowhead Pride Mentors

Check out the article about Mentor on The Mothership.  Outstanding and it appears our Chiefs are really going in the right direction.  Haley is thinking long term in prepping young guys to take over for his veteran coaching staff.  It is a tact that I used when I was in the workforce.  Weis, Crennel, and Thomas may move on but if they have done their jobs well our young turks will be able to step right in and continue the same system.  One of the things with the Redskins is that they are always in a new system because Snyder decides to spend his money on different coaches instead of bringing guys up in a system.  Go Chiefs

Arrowhead Pride Coach Waters

  1. Heres an idea.  Start grooming Brian Waters for a coaching position on this team.  I see him playing maybe 2 or 3 more years, and he is The Leader on the squad right now.  He seems to have the smarts and is able to communicate on a level the players understand and the ability to buy in on the culture of the organization.  Waters has learned his craft well.  He has a mine set that would make him the ideal OL coach when his playing days are over.  I understand that he has taken care of his financial future so we might be hardpressed to convince his to start at the bottom of the coaching tree, but I think the organization would benefit.  Please don't trade him as a lot of you suggest.  He is a Chief!!!

Arrowhead Pride The Right 53

When I saw Len Dawson, Bobby Bell, and Curtis McClinton together on the star sports page I suddenly realize what the right 53 must look like.  Bell and Dawson are Hall of Famer, Bell probably the greatest LB I haveseen play the game.  McClinton was a good ,but not great back who got the job done.  I dare say I rarely hear anyone mention his name when talking about the Chiefs.  So we had Dawson, the right QB for that team, Bell, who was the right LB on anybodies team, and McClinton who no one remembers even though he was an intrigl part of the right 53 or whatever it was in those days. Interesting what McClinton said at the end of the clip, they communicated and were always together.   Now all we need is that little peacock Hank Stram to put them together.

Arrowhead Pride I Still Don't Get It

Derrick Johnson get's benched and doesn't complain?  What is going on?  Doesn't every player want to be on the field playing the game.  Perhaps that is what has kept him from fulfilling all the promise he had coming out of Texas.  The red and gold has to many "team players".  We need players that make statements on and off the field.  To complain about lack of playing time is not being negtive or a locker room cancer.  To complain about not getting the ball inside the red zone is not being a cry baby.  We need some guys to take off the diapers and stand up to Boss Pioli.  There is no fight in our Chiefs.

Arrowhead Pride Somebody Get Mad

Just read the Looney on Derrick  Johnson the best linbacker on our Chiefs squad.  He praises DJ for spouting the party line and team first attitude.  This is all good but DJ should be mad because he is setting on the bench and not playing.  We are tired of this party line stuff with no action.  DJ can lead this D to the promised.  Let's faceit no one not even Waters has gotten mad and questioned what is going on with these benchings and demotions.  I am not sure that Bowe's turnaround is due to his demotion.  He is a playmaker.  Not blaming Haley, but the attitude on this team is that I am just glad to be here, and not this is my job and my team and no one is going to take it.  The players have got to get mad and bring some fire on the field at game time.

Arrowhead Pride Win, Win, Win

Our Chiefs need to get of to a good start to win on Sunday.  First of all we need an old Wolfpack type crowd.  Then Haley and company need to come up with a way to get up by two scores.  So the game plan has to be to get LJ, Bowe, and Succop, yes the kicker involve early and often.  A two score lead take the Raider running game away and makes Russell the center of attention DL.  We score early and we win in a blowout.  No feeling out to start.  We know who they are so let's go right at them.  That is how "We play to win the game".

Arrowhead Pride Cassel Signed

Cassel signed for 36 mill and 6 year.  Tell me what you think?  Our Chief are coming into focus before our eyes!  All we need is Crabtree and one of those OG in the draft.  You know tshe guys who become nameless numbers  It would help to get Waters on board.  The D is going to be addressed with the draft of Curry.  Is anyone getting in the boat with me.  West Div. Champs!!!!  Go Chief!!!!!!

Arrowhead Pride Stop Fooling Ourselves

Larry Johnson is still a very good RB and if Pioli is as smart as we think we go into the 2009 season with him as our starter.  We get 1200 to 1500 yards from him.  Jamal and Smith can't deliver that as a duo.  With no 2nd round pick we don;t get anyone in the draft.  Our offense is setting up nicely as long as we have a running game and LJ provides it.  Haley  and winning will handle his attitude, and the thought of going to jail will keep him out of trouble.  Remember this is a very middle class guy in terms of background.   He has no trade value, but is a great value to the Chiefs!  Let' get real.

I say Haley can get another 350 - 400 carries out of LJ and we win the "weak West!!!"
