Sacramento vs. Memphis aka the StR whipping boys game
As part of 30Qs, Mr. Tom Ziller asked StR who we thought was going to be the Kings’ whipping boy this upcoming season (sorry for not linking it). If I’m not mistaken, Beno Udrih won the distinguished poll and was the center of many jokes. Well StR, I talked to Mr. Udrih after the game tonight and he told me to pass along this message “Joke’s on you!!!”

Mr. Section214: From the vault
After learning a bit more about the Peaches shirt situation I went back to some old threads and found this one. Section at his sectionlicious best.
I hope you don't mind me bringing this one back for some good laughs. I thought it was simply awesome and funny as hell

King's Chat @ ESPN
I know many around here are not big fans of the worldwide leader but I think this could be a good place to ask some smart questions and put an "expert" (Mr. Chad Ford) on the spot.
I doubt a lot of people are going to be interested in this team so StR has a good chance of making its presence felt.
Chat is at 1pm pacific time tomorrow
Kevin Durant and +/-
Very interesting article about Kevin Durant and his +/- impact on the Thunder. I think he has superstar potential and can't really buy into the analysis that he's not good for a team. Mavs wouldn;t take him for free?? Please....
Just remember... it could always be worse
Ohh and don't forget this one too
Artest missed the first two team buses (the ones for players, coaches and team personnel) from Houston's hotel to the Staples Center and barely made the third and final bus, which was reserved for business staff, sponsors and friends of the team. These stunned people watched Artest sprint to the bus right before it left, jump on and take one of the remaining seats ... yes, wearing only his underwear
Chandler to Charlotte, Okafor to New Orleans
I think this is a good deal for the Hornets and I have no idea why Charlotte does it, maybe they are going back to being cheap.
Not confirmed and it could ultimately fall through but interesting swap nonetheless.
Two reliable sources telling me that two-time D-League coach of the year Bryan Gates will be added to Kings coach Paul Westphal's staff
You Stay Classy, Brandon Jennings
(Note from TZ: Jason Jones reports in the blog post that Jennings, after not getting a call he thought he deserved, purposely tripped JT.)
The Donte Greene story
Great piece by Amick on today's paper about Donte Greene. I don't really want to describe anything as I think everyone that cares about Donte, person and player, should read it and form their own conclusions. Great stuff Mr. Amick...
Blazers make (toxic) offer to Millsap
Apparently the contract (4 years between 32 and 36 mil) has a "hefty signing bonus aimed at discouraging Utah from matching."
After Millsap signs the offer sheet, Utah has one week to make ther decision whether to match or let him go. Interesting things await
David Thorpe Livetweeting from Summer League
One guy at ESPN that I have great respect for is coach Thorpe and he's been "tweeting" with his take on players during summer league games. Hope he stays there for the Kings game so we can get his take on JT, Donte, Evans, Casspi, and the roster hopefuls.
McDyess heading to San Anton
Parker, Ginobii, Jefferson, McDyess, Duncan. Not bad... not bad at all
From Vegas: Hawes may not play in summer league. Westphal says he'll come Mon. to "support...teammates" but that "I don't think he'll play."
Sheed goes green
Not sure if I should trust ESPN because for all I know he's really signing with the Spurs, but this is what they are reporting today. Rasheed Wallace and his technicals are joining KG, PP, and Jesus
As I write this, my head keeps going back to something that might be missed in all this. San Antonio is good to its fans. Here is a team that is committed to winning. After being bounced in the first round, they could have faded from view just as everyone expected them to. But instead, they got off the mat and started swinging. They're a small market team with a relatively poor ownership group in a bad economy. And they just added a big contract to their books when half the league is trying to shed cap. Take note.
Good bye Ricky! Hope to see you soon.
Rubio's gone... for now.
TZ on KHTK
Amick writes that the man, the myth, Tom Ziller himself will be joining Carmichael Dave tonight at 7pm.
Represent TZ... represent
Holiday stays in draft
Just in case you were wondering. ESPN confirms Holiday is hiring an agent and staying in the draft.
And the Ricky Rubio soap opera gets ugly
The IRS?? Really??
Wonder what Joventut's owner is gonna come out and say now.
Jerry on Sportsline right now!!
There's only a little bit left of the show but it looks like he's sticking around until 7. I thought a lot of people would like to listen to what he has to say. Link is to the KHTK page, go from there and listen to JR (and Peaches)
The "Use your brain" poll
Alright everyone, I guess we gotta do this again. We are talking strictly about Geoff Petrie and the players he has drafted in the past considering draft position, need, where the team was at the time, and other categories you may feel are relevant. Look at the overall picture and judge our "sacred cow." We argued a lot already, it's time to let democracy speak for itself. You can state why you voted the way you did bt let's try to keep it clean for the most part. To quote a famous philosopher "you should never argue with an idiot, they’ll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." Don't forget though, use your brain!!

What is Ricky Rubio's decision to come over going to come down to?
More info about the Ricky Rubio situation via DX.
How to cope
Since yesterday I've been a big advocate for staying calm and letting this thing play out. As positive as I was, it hurt like hell too. I understand it's a hard thing to get over but I think slowly, everyone is coming around. Losing the lottery (damn you losers!!) is going hurt for a while but there are a couple things that could make us all feel better. On my way home from work I listened to one of those things and hopefully it may help (about half of) you as well.
Cage the Pit (Bill) Bull
I guess there's haters all over the net, not just on StR. Shame on them...
Hater!!!
Kings won't rush coaching decision, Petrie in Europe to see Rubio
Great info coming from Sam Amick. Damn, it's good to have him working for the Bee.
If we believe Joe, EJ is not getting an offer anytime soon and it looks like the Kings front office has some interest in Ricky Rubio
Congrats Shelden and Candace
Coach K, don't recruit the kid just yet. That's just creepy, ok??
'Would I accept an offer?' it has to be offered to me, and it hasn't been offered to me yet."
