D Lee & Nate Rob. C.O.D. Beasts!
Not sure if this was ever posted here, it's an article from last November, but what the hell. It's late at night, the Warriors aren't making any noise until draft day (we hope) So I came across this article about a couple of Nerd Video game Golden Staters. Totally a waste of time article. enjoy!

Well, we all have some time to kill until the lotto balls get sorted out, so I thought I'd change the pace a bit.
Some of you younger fans don't know who Chris Gatling is, and those that do might LOL at the mention of his name, I mean, he wasn't a great player, never close to an all star, yet those same people will nod their heads in rememberance. The Dude brought it every night, Let's take it baaack..
Still no media love for GS
I've been watching espn first take for a half hour now, they talked about Peyton manning for about 20 minutes, then NFL jargon , now skip bayless is gonna talk about Dwight Howard and Bynum having big games last night. Not one sniff about the Ellis-Bogut trade... Typical , but let's see if this changes once we start winning!! Love Ellis, but move on peeps, even on nights when he dropped 35 we were struggling to win games, this team is being rebuilt to win .
Time for some Bogut Highlights!!
And the worse broadcast duo in the League is...
BINGOOOO!! You guessed it, The Clippers broadcast duo. God these guys are bad.. I'm forced to watch them on league pass down here in So cal tonight, and this is painful. People are complaining about Fitz and Barnett? Well, I'll admit Fitz is pretty annoying, I love Barnett though. But Gawd, these Clipps announcers are horrible. Get off of Blake's JOCK!
Tom Abdenour... Where is he now?
Dubs Fan Fam!
Bay area boy born and bred, but I've been living in san diego since '04. You can imagine how annoying it has been for me living in Laker land, listening to all the gloating and "oh man, Warrior fans actually exists?" Comments. Still, I've managed to run into a few Bay area transplants over the years who root for the Warriors and that's alwasy a good feeling of solidarity, but yesterday at the local Von's (Safeway of So Cal) I spotted a Mr. Tom Abdenour meandering his grocery cart in the same Hispanic Foods isle I happened to be in. Keep in mind, I've been watching Warrior games faithfully, for a greater part of a decade. League pass is a beautiful thing; So I automatically recognized his face as that of the former Warriors athletic trainer who would sit on the sidelines.
Without hesitation or thought, I said to him "Excuse me, aren't you the ex Warrior Sports medicine guy?" and he happily responded and said "Sure am, Tom Abedenour, glad to meet you". Super nice guy. He said he was the lead trainer for San Diego State's Mens basketball team now. We ended up having a pretty good 10 minute talk, I had my 14 month old daughter in the shopping cart with me and she started getting ansty, but this convo could have easily been longer.
Some interesting things he mentioned:
I asked him if he was still a Warriors fan and if he still followed, he said he was still a fan, after working withiin the organization for 25 years he said it's hard to root for any other team. However he doesnt have much time to catch games with his current gig.
He said he misses working with the guys, he said and i quote "I feel really bad for Steph, and Andris" he said both were really good kids. He mentioned he doesn't know what is going on with Dorell, said he really liked Dorell alot.
He say's he still has friends in the organization but that it's also very different, obvously.
On to ownership, I asked him about Lacob. He said that everybody was exited about Joe and Peter at first but he thinks Joe is going to have a big learnin curve before he comes into stride.
He basically said You can be really sucsessful at running a corporation but basketball is an entire different animal, I think as long as he humbles his stance a bit he will do fine.
Finally, the Mark Jackson question. Asked him what he thought about the hiring, what he said I thought was interesting. He said, although he doesn't know him personally, he personally feels that Lacob missed on the new hire. He stated that he thinks Mark is a good coaching prospect, he felt that he should have been brought on as a top end assistant, and be groomed for a head coaching gig , along the likes of what Nellie did with Kieth Smart. He says he sees that Mark understimated the roster and the over all speed of the modern league.
Keep in mind, I am paraphrasing as close as possible to what our conversation was, but it was still pretty cool to actually talk to a Warriors insider who has been in the business for so long. It was cool that he took the time to chop it up with me and he overall seemed like a good happy go lucky guy. Final words to me, hang in there, Warriors will figure it out one day, and laughed..
This is what I keep telling myself. Apologies for any grammer mispellings, I banged this out at the office and have to run to a meeting. Go Dubs!

Umm, Lacob and Guber.. Are ya there? Calling Lacob and Guber??
I'm a realist, And these ARE the Warriors. As much as I love em, our front office still appears to be kickin' around the can in the school yard while the big boys are running 5 on 5. Even with "the logo" on board. Sooo, don't waste your deams on DeAndre Jordan, CLipps will match anyway. J Rich pt. 2 would be sweet but He's looking for a contender. So since we waived Lin and Bell's boozing self is getting amnestied, lets look at realistic back up PG's the new owners, should be lookin at.
Who's your favorite candidate? Arroyo? DeLonte West? eh hem, Boykins? yikes...
Take a look at our second rd pick. Before he hit some developmental setbacks overseas, this kid was one of the highest touted HS centers in the nation. Hey Joe Lacob, Get this kid a great big Man coach, it may make or break him.
Jerry West on jim Rome today
if anyone can link that, they would rule. I'm locked down from rome site at work. (yet oddly, GSOM works- score!!)

Lacob & Riley's next move
Lacob, you read the blogs, you listen to the fans as much as your own gut. Look into this please.
if you can find a way to somehow keep steph, monta and Lee, and still land this man, he can start at SF no problem alongside the crew. Can you say playoffs?
Kenny Smith is a Dag Fool
So feeling high after the Dubs (grind it out) win last night ,I tune over to NBATV to relive the highlights on a national scale. Now im thinking, I wonder if the buzz is going to start getting better for our dubs, especially from larger scale sports media. NOPE Kenny goes on first to say " I still think Amare was a better pick up for the Knicks than Lee was for the W's. I see Amare adding at least 6 + wins for the Knicks, he's just that great" yeah, Amare IS a beast, but to say he was better for the Knicks than for Us, he obviously doesn't know/care about the Warriors poor rebounding history or been keeping tabs on our current overall improvment, on a drastic level. He then goes on to say that "Lee's numbers are always going to be inflated compared to Amare's because he plays in Smart's run and gun system" . Ummm, Kenny, two things, one ,the Knicks play for DANTONI, and two, The warriors are playing more half court sets this year than over the past 3, we are not running as much. PLUS, Amare without Nash, not as good as Curry with Lee, just saying. He talked more about the Knicks and Amare, who lost, than the Dubs, who have been finding ways to win and change culture, and have the most exiting young backcourt in the League. This anti Dubs media smackage is starting to get old, but at the same time, bring it. The W's SHOULD continue to fly under the radar and grind out some wins till we really start turning heads mid season, eat your words Kenny you fool!
Pray for Monta Golden State Nation
I'm not even talking about our seasons hopes here, Im talking about just for Monta. I'm still shook up after watchiing that, Monta has a high threshold for pain, but he didn't look ok. Prayers, hymms, candles, whatever you do, throw Monta in it. Speedy recovery Mr. Ellis! Keep your spirit strong.

"They’re a good team," Williams said. "This is not the same Warriors team."
-Deron Williams
Larry Riely FTW!
You gotta give it up, RIley (in conjunction with Lacob no doubt) has been granting almost every single Warrior fan's wish this off season. Short of landing Melo, but He's been putting in his work. I'm not mad at Larry, keep doing your thing! My real issue is with keeping Nellie and Rowell. I dislike me some Bobby Rowell.
Steph Vs. Rubio, and yes, i am a big Rubio fan. But im a bigger Curry fan :)

A video for our newest Warriors and our New Owners.. Because we all have to laugh and enjoy Bay Area and warriors culture every now and then. Yadadamean!
last but not least Q&A with Ronnie
Getting David Lee exited me, Losing Ronnie did not. Always a class act and always bringing the comedy and hyphie dancing on the sidelines, and great energy to boot.
He will be missed in the Bay, best of luck in the Empire State Ronnie!
Can Warriors still make a move for Barnes, and Does Riley have gas left in the tank?
I say do it, Barnes would rather play with the dubs anyway. C'mon Riley your letting everyone slip away, our bench is WEAK!!
Riley, Lacob & co PLEASE Sign this kid ASAP before training camp
Lin is currently on The Mav's squad, If for some reason dallas let's him slide teams are going to come after him aggresivley . He's a bay area kid and would be perfect coming off the bench for Steph or Ellis.
Excellent Column by Ratto for our new owners
I'm on board with most of what Ray says here, not all, but mostly he's dead on with it. Let's also bring back Greg Papa to go along side Barnett as well, Who's with me?
Glimmers of Hope, Silver Linings, esperanza..
The world champion Lakers have already gotten slightly better this off season with the addition of Steve Blake, (well, deeper at least) The Kings drafted Demarcus and have rising star Tyreke Evans back for his soph season, with newly acquired shot blocker Sam Dalembert in the middle. The Clipps are boasting a healthy Blake Griffin back with B Diddy, lottery pick Aminu and still have a good chunk of cap space to sign a decent player. The Blazers, well, They still have to fulfill some expectations but let's not forget that a core group consisting of Roy, Camby, Rudy Fernandez, and Lamarcus Aldridge is a pretty damn good one.The Suns lost Amare, still have Hall of famer Nash, J rich, an aging Grant Hill and Robin Lopez.
That Leaves us with our Warriors. Thus far, we have yet to add a free agent, make a trade for a skilled guy with "beef", or play making or lock down small forward. On The surface it may seam as if we are potentially the weakest club in the Pacific Division, we've made the least splashes this off season, and haven't sniffed the playoffs since "we believe". We have without a doubt the WORST owner in professional basketball, and arguably pro sports, Al Davis can't come close to Cohan in this regard.
I find myself constantly checking in on GSOM multiple times daily, or TK's blog, Marcus Thompson's twitter, etc. Each time I visit these links i'm praying for breaking smack me in the jaw news. Anything positive, anything epic. Does this routine sound familiar to any of you guys? So far, exhausting lol. At the risk of sounding stupidly optimistic though, we have a silver lining, our glimmer of hope as Warrior fans, comes in the Name of one Steph Curry. The glimmer of hope comes in the fact that this team is for sale. The fact that soon, hopefully sooner than later, this team will no longer be under the mismanagement of Cohan and Rowell's regime.
Not to take anything away from Ellis, but Curry is without question our best player, or highest IQ player, our special future star in the making. Our difference maker, as long as we have a healthy Steph running our squad, developing chemistry with the other guys, and making them better, I see hope for this team. As small as it is, hope is alive nonetheless. Hopefully going into next season, when we have a healthy squad once again, hopefully by then have added a decent to good player via trade, or with the development of our PF's, we can be a fun competative team that will develop a winning culture and bring that back to the Bay.Eventually, really, it's not going to happen overnight , not unless we magically land Lebron or Wade. Real Warrior fans know this though.
And for the record, I think we're already better than the suns. Here's to next season and beyond.
