I'm Moving Back To Texas

For all the new people, and old ones, that don't know (or remember me) I used to post on here quite a bit from 06-08. Sadly, I cooled down a bit this year.

I admit I wasn't the most loyal fan. I'd watch when the Spurs were on National TV, but I never went out of my way, like in the past, to find games online and watch. I attribute most of that to the injury of Manu. The beginning of the season was a blur to me because he was gone, the middle is where I started to piece the puzzle back together, and the end...well I gave up after I found out he was gone for good.

I've lived in New York for the past two years too, so it's hard to stay excited when the games you get every night are Knicks and Nets. Another reason this season hasn't meant as much to me.

With all that being said, I'm moving back to Texas. The economy has been hard on me, and I know I have a job at home working with my father for his business. When I realized this will be my last few weeks in NY I made it a point to watch the Spurs game. To get back into the swing of things. I had no idea what a heated race it was for the division. I watched the game (online) and tried my hardest to not get too excited. But I couldn't help it. The game was phenomenal. It was everything I needed to give me a swift kick in the ass and say, "Hey stupid, why aren't you watching this team?"

Then it hit me. I didn't fall in love with this team 13 years ago because of Manu, I did because I love their attitude. Their never say die swagger. Their defensive minded strategy. Their unselfishness. Their silver and black colors. The city of San Antonio. And mostly the die hard fans, like the great people on this site. And that's what I used to be. It's fitting that I'm moving back to Texas during their Playoff Run. I can now only hope while I drive my stuff from New York back to McAllen I can settle in SA for one night to watch a game live.

I hope there to be many future nights, for the next two months, where we'll get to bring back "Rally No Shirt 4th Quarters."

After this entire season, I am still Silver & Black. Go Spurs Go.

and good riddance. As charming as you want everyone to think you are, I know deep down inside you're just like your twin brother: a conniving prick. It was hilarous to see you tense up in the 4th quarter of a big game, passing on the chance to be your teams golden boy, but dishing the opportunity to Pargo (who?).

Suck on this a one-time. The Fresh Prince (Horry) owns your ass!

Browsing through the self proclaimed world wide leader in sports site, I came across this. So orgasmic to see that many beautiful faces. 19-20 is a pretty solid prediction, and I never liked CHris Palmer anyway, what a douche.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=SixthMan-0708

It's crap that he didn't make the all-star team, and a few other players did. Hopefully this makes me more fierce in the playoffs, if he even plays.

Fucking Comcast... Rockets vs. Spurs

I was going to make an attempt at live TV blogging the game, not sure why though if it was on national TV. Anywho, my Internet was shot yesterday, fucking Comcast. I can't really complain though because I'm stealing the wireless signal from the guy downstairs, so failure to do so.

On to the game. This was one of those games that made me giddy. Seriously, I was laughing at everything the announcers were saying (which was pretty much crap), enjoyed the commercials--I counted six D. Wade t-mobile commercials, more times then he has been playing basketball in the past month-- and just all around had a goofy smile on my face for about 2 hours of my life, because we completely dominated McGrady and the Rockets (minus Scola). What a long sentence.

We shot the lights out of the at&t center (minus the 3rd quarter), and just all around played a super cool game. The only thing that worried me was Bowen's D. Granted McGrady didn't score too many. But it looks like he would easily drive past Bowen at will. Although, congrats to Bowen for being the all time Spur leader in 3-pointers. WTF, Manu.

After a tough March month, where the Spurs played their most games ever in a month, 18, with six back-to-backs, I will be the first to say, thank God it's over, and we are still sitting at number 1, well kind-of, in the West. Fuck you Cuban.

I hope and pray Golden State and Denver get those last two spots.

Your 3 Stars:

Luis Scola - He's shooting 100% as a Spur and still dominated us. The only thing I see wrong in his game is fouls. I think he's used to the European league officiating, hence why he's always in foul trouble.

Tony Longoria Parker - When he hits his jump shot the way he did yesterday, he's pretty much: Unstoppable, Tony Parker is.

Michael Finley - He's shot 69% in the last four games. To quote NBA JAM, "he's on fire." I'm not sure whether it's the fact that Barry is coming back, or he finally got his head outta his ass, but if he keeps playing the way he is (probably not), we'll be a hard team to beat come playoffs.

Why didn't we cut RoHo and sign Scola.

Manu finishes 19th on the greatest SG's ever list from ESPN.com NBA expert analysts.

This makes me happy. To note, I believe this makes him the 1st greatest SG not born in America. Huuuuraaahhh!!!

So the number 1 non-US SG of all time and the number 1 PF of all time.

The Iceman was the number 4 of all time. Pretty solid.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?page=dime-GreatestSGs

Ah, yes. First, I couldn't watch this game, so I vowed I would follow the ESPN Game Cast to see what life is like watching that bull shit. Yes, I've watched before, but never for a full game. However, I got tangled up with this whole Presidential race that's going on. If you haven't been following, I'll make it really easy for your to follow.

Democratic Party Race - Western Conference
Republican Party Race - Eastern Conference

Back to the reason you're reading this.

So I didn't watch, but I did read ESPN.com and found out the Spurs played pretty sick defense, if the score (70-81) doesn't show. This makes me happy. I could give less of two Steve Nash MVP awards about our Offense. When our D plays that well I'm happy. We shut down Harris, granted his getting adjusted to this new rotation, and we held them scoreless for 6:24 seconds.

Things to think about:
Wishing Fab wasn't sucking Chode
Will Ime continue to play well
Possibility of dropping ear muffs
*Looks at watch* when does Barry come back
Was that a typo in the stat sheet, TD was 7-9 on FTM.
We are 10-0 in last 10 games.... next 11 are some doozies (Dallas, Boston, NO, Denverx2, PHX)

In other news: Brett Favre Retires?!?! (That's not a typo, you read correctly). I am not a Favre fan, nor do I care for the Packers, however I can't imagine football without Brett Favre. From as far back as I can remember Brett Favre has always been THE QB for the Packers. I hope Timmmeh stays in the NBA fooooorever.

Favorite Brett Favre Moment: Sunday Night Football (maybe Monday?) back in 2005, while Favre was still "gun sliggin'" interceptions galore, a few fans held up a sign that read "Brett Favre. Your continuing journey is our reward." Oh God I'll miss him.

Your 3 Stars:

Tony Samantha Parker - Most people on this site might not agree with me, but I believe Parker did a good job on Harris(wait what? I didn't watch the game I'm just reading stats). Be quiet stat boy.

Timothy Evelyn Duncan - Watching the hilights, is there anything Duncan didn't do? I saw him make great moves in the post, great passes and excellent defense. Suck it Diop. If Timmy continues to play this way (3 good games, 1 bad egg) we should be pretty scary come playoffs.

Barack "The Casbah" Obama - He was in San Antonio, and apparently the Spurs are undefeated when they play the same night Obama gives a speech in they city they play in [citation needed].

I'm sorry this is an awful recap.

GINOBILI'S LAST 5 GAMES

I'm sure most of you read this, but just in case. Simply Erotic.

By Elias Sports Bureau, Inc.
Special to ESPN.com

Ginobili, over his last five games, has now scored 172 points, while making 55 of 86 field-goal attempts (64 percent). Only one NBA player since the year 2000 has scored as many points with as high a shooting percentage over any five-game span; that was Shaquille O'Neal, who with the Lakers in March 2002, had a five-game stretch in which he scored 177 points while shooting 69.5 percent from the floor. That's it.

By the way, prior to Shaq, you have to go back to 1996 to find the last such instance of a player scoring and shooting as well as Ginobili over a period of five games. (Hakeem Olajuwon had 172 points and a 65-percent shooting stretch over a five-game span late in the 1995-96 season.)

Pau Gasol hated Memphis (both the Grizzlies and the city)for eight years, and now he sends his little brother there. What a slap in the face.

If I was Marisa Gasol I'd punch him in the nuts, then ground him.

Note: Lamar Odom will be traded. There I said it. There's no way that Odom, Bynum and Gasol can co-exist. Where he'll go, I'm not sure (hopefully not the Nets). If Lakers get Jason Kidd, would this be the second coming of "Team Superstars?"
