"It seems like people here in this city, sometimes winning and getting points isn’t good enough, You have to [win] a certain way and you have to do it by a certain margin and you have to dominate a lot of teams. And that’s not the reality of hockey." — Keith Ballard (2012)

New Jersey v. Philadelphia 4:30 PST | CBC/RDS

Is everyone out today? Guess the Radustitstyn suspension extends here too. Come out of the bushes and discuss things, people.

Oh yeah, hockey.

Go, indifference.

Dear Rogers Arena spectators,

This is how you effectively cheer within the confines of our venue.

This isn't even the finals, this is the crowd for a playoff quarterfinal game!

Thanks for showing us how it's done, Swedish Elite League.

With love,
Eightyseven

(Go Canucks go.)

Game 1's introduction video that was unfortunately cut by CBC.

Beautiful score, what a way to set the tone for this series.

This is what we live for.

Vancouver Canucks want YOU to wear your jeans to work for BC Children's hospital.

I spy skinny jeans.

VANCOUVER - The Canucks and the team’s charitable arm, Canucks for Kids Fund, will Monday announce a $5-million donation to BC Children’s Hospital and diabetes research, the largest single gift in the fund’s 25-year history.

Nucks Misconduct The Official NM Social Media Directory

From my observations, it seems like a heapload of NM members have accounts elsewhere (I read sigs, not lurk).

So if you want to follow/be followed/add/be added by awesome people on your myriad of websites and social media accounts, come hither and post up your usernames!

If nobody leaves me hanging and a lot of you participate, I'll probably list them in alphabetical order.

And please, no stalker-style behaviour. I don't want to be the catalyst for criminal offences.

Shane O'Brien has accepted his qualifying offer, and agreed to re-sign with the Canucks for one year at $1.6 million.

The contract leaves the Canucks with 22 roster players signed and less than $300,000 of cap space. At $59.133 million, the Canucks are just $266,000 under the NHL salary cap. A team can go over the cap by as much as 10% before the start of the season.

Things get interesting. I wonder who'll be sent packing...

"Vancouver's Henrik Sedin -- has caught my eye as the favorite for the Hart Trophy. It's odd to think of Sedin as a candidate for individual awards since he is perpetually linked with his twin brother Daniel, also a standout forward for the Northwest Division champion Canucks."

I'm just happy to hear this from an East Coast sports journalist.

Nucks Misconduct Olympics Open Thread - Day 9: "I Love Goooooooold!"

I would have definitely Photoshopped Fat Bastard going down a Skeleton run, but I had a night shift to work :( Just visualize the laughs that would have elicited. Or y'all can ask Boss Zandberg to make it a reality.

Here's the next best thing:

(I can't even find footage with Goldmember saying he loves gold. My bad. Here's some "Get in my belly" instead.)

Schedule slash goodies after the jump:

Nucks Misconduct Olympics Open Thread - Day 5: The 16th...Finally

Let's start with a classic (and hopefully, how Babcock won't react in the locker room throughout the Olympics):

So it's day fizzive of some little sports tournament in Vancouver, not Washington. You thought the city was loud previously? Imagine how much of a gongshow it'll be now that Men's Hockey's starting.

And yes, there are still many other sports ongoing. Support those too, yo. And little Patrick Chan!

Sports schedules and other goodies for the 16th after the jump.
