Spezza to be removed from Sens' marketing materials

Do we trust Steve Warne? No other news about this yet...

My preferred off season

Raptors lost, and the Jays are milling about in the middle of the AL East. I want hockey back, because the playoffs are a lot better when I actually care about the teams that are involved. That...

Wish List for March 5th

Another year, another deadline! I look forward to the trade deadline each year, because roster management has always been one of my favourite parts of following sports. I used to simulate entire...

Senators Roster Map: December 3, 2013

I stumbled upon the following link of the Blue Jays roster a few days ago, and was really impressed at how easy it was to see how the current Jays team was formed by various trades over the past...

Untouchable?

There's a lot of talk about players who are "untouchables" on teams, and as was brought up in a post earlier this week, Turris seems like he might be one of those players for 3 reasons going...

Game 4 S7S Game Night at Grace O'Malleys Toronto

Come one come all! I've booked us a table at Grace O'Malleys in downtown Toronto (http://www.gracies.ca/contact.aspx#toronto), so if you're in the area and want to watch the game with some other...

Ryder and a 3rd rounder for Erik Cole

Another inter-conference trade. We're going to see a lot of these as opposed to intra-conference trades! Good return for Erik Cole, plus the Habs gets some flexibility going forward. This makes the Habs a better team though, which is not optimal for us.

Future cap pressure

This is a bit of a follow up to my initial article, but it has a bit more relevance to matters that will happen in the next few months, as well as a longer term view. At bare minimum, The Sens...

Three Years Out

Three to Five years from now... A few of us were having a bit of a discussion around who the core of the Senators will be in the coming years, and I think that there's a lot of room to play given...

2013-2014 Forwards

Last year, when there were two years left on a lot of players' contracts, it seemed like the graduation of our top AHL players would be stalled because of a season on the 3rd or 4th line in the...

Mathis Trade??

Apparently it really was the "Mathis trade" after all!

Well this is unfamiliar...

Our NHL and AHL goalies are really making me comfortable for our future as a team. It's funny how a solid lineup in one position alone can bring so much perceived solidity to a team. I haven't...

Collect all the Izturi(uses??)!!!

Now that the Sens are the only Canadian team left...

Much of Canada has basic knowledge about the Leafs, Canucks, and even the Oilers to a certain extent. The Sens? Past knowing about Alfie, Spezza and Karlsson, many of the Senators aren't well...

Stone's PPG average in the WHL is similar to the Nuge's??

2
Nuge: 1.37 PPG Stone: 1.26 PPG ( with a better plus minus, and a physical aspect to his game) They're clearly not the same kind of player at all, but it's definitely a good comparison to take a look at! Same kind of numbers as 18 year olds in the WHL between the two of them. I'm surprised Stone only got a rating of 6.5 C from Hockey's Future! No guarantees about him, for sure, but he's got some clear cut scoring potential in the NHL. Can't wait to see him at camp next year!

Sens fan comraderie in Toronto

I've been living in Toronto for the better part of 2 years now, and for all of that time I've been rooming with die hard Leaf's fans. Everywhere I go, I'm bombarded with talk of the Blue and...

Now that we have Turris...

So we have Kyle Turris now... haha. Awesome Looking at the depth chart down the middle, it seems like Mr. Turris or Regin will be holding down the fort at the second line centre position for the...

Now that Turris is signed...

We are all pretty cognizant of the fact that our dear Senators are lacking a legitimate scoring threat at second line center.   Spezz has cemented the 1st line spot, with Zach Smith holding down...
