Bucs Nation Moving Forward

Hello everybody, I'm 18 years old and have been a Bucs fan since I was 4 years old. Here's my opinion of how this team should look at the upcoming season.

Coach: I know a lot has been made of the big name coaches available, but I think Raheem is our guy. Yes, it has been very crazy with many low points, but things have started to look up since we went back to the Tampa Two. Another reason I am opposed to hire a guy like Cowher is that there is no guarantee  he brings success.  He is a solid coach no doubt, but it took him many years to even reach his first super bowl. I believe much of Pitt's success during his tenure was due to his D which, excluding this year, has not missed a beat under Tomlin. I say stick with Raheem, Olsen, and stick with the Tampa Two.

Draft: I'm stoked we got the 3rd pick (Thank you Jamaal Charles and KC!). Obviously, if by a blessing from Warren Sapp, Suh falls to us then we should no doubt pick him within the first 10 seconds of being on the clock. Now if Suh is off the board then I think we should jump at Eric Berry. He plays under Monte Kiffin and a Tampa Two style defense, he is a straight ball hawk, and has been declared as the rebirth of Ed Reed. I'm not in love with McCoy as I think he is not the game changer that Berry is. I know many will say that DT is our biggest need and I am not disagreeing with that. I just feel that with a top 3 pick we need to take the best available player. You see teams screw up high picks all the time when they try to get cute and pick players way too high. If we are going to invest top 3 money with a guy, I feel our best bet is Eric Berry.

In the Second Rd, I think we then go DT with our 3rd pick and LB with our Chicago pick.

As for the rest of our off season:

                       1. Add another Defensive Piece (Peppers, Vanden Bosch, Johnny Jolly, or Vince Wilfork)

                       2. Address WR position (Resign Bryant, Marshall :] , Boldin, Steve Breasten, Mark Bradley)

                       3. Draft a decent punter....please

                       4. Patience, Patience, Patience

SLC Dunk 3 team trade....tyrus thomas, salt lake's newest resident?

Check this out.....Utah Trade

The image “http://sportsmaven.files.wordpress.com/2007/02/tyrus-thomas-at-2007-nba-all-star-weekend-2-17-07.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

lemme know what ya think, i actually like the deal because i love tyrus thomas and this would open us up to signing milsap long term, also with either korver or okur's contract coming off the books after this year we will be able to make a big splash in next year's free agency, but i also think we'd be competitive this year...just my 2 cents tho

Bucs Nation Bucs inform Jeff Garcia no team wanted him

Buccaneers Inform Jeff Garcia That No Team Ever Wanted Him

Jerry Garcia

TAMPA BAY, FL—Shortly after ending a two-year relationship with Jeff Garcia, the Buccaneers front office notified its former quarterback that no NFL organization had in fact ever wanted or needed the 38-year-old. "It was hard to see that look on his face, but he needed to learn that no team—not even the Bears—could imagine a future with him," said owner Malcolm Glazer. "We were only stuck with Jeff for this long because nobody better was available." Glazer, who said the decision to make a clean break came after consideration of Garcia's arm strength, height, freckles, and male pattern baldness, admitted the Buccaneers only pursued the quarterback to see if it made other free agents interested in the team.

Naturally Garcia signed with the Raiders....officially ending his career.

For those of you who didn't get it, this was a little satire on my part. I don't know how else to spend this off season and make it go by faster.

Bucs Nation Raheem, let Plax walk the plank....please : )

Yahoo Sports yesterday, published a report that the Buccaneers were one of five teams to contact Plaxico Burress this week.  The Yahoo report describes the phone call as exploratory and was mainly to “check on Burress’ well being.”  The checking in on his well being part is quite laughable, but we’ll for this excercise take the phone call as a serious inquiry into signing Burress. This is according to Burress' agent Drew Rosenhaus. According Rosenhaus, via his Twitter account, Burress now has five NFL teams interested in him. And that list, according to Rosenhaus, could become even longer soon, Profootballtalk.com reported.

First and foremost, the legal issues that Plaxico faces from gun charges in NY are the most important factor in any team signing him, the Bucs or anyone else for that matter.  I have read lately that his lawyers are trying to reach a plea deal with the district attorney’s office.  Let us also assume for this that Plaxico ends up with a probation and community service type of plea bargain and serves no actual jail time. I mean he may be an idiot, but he didn't kill anybody (or animals).
