Ovechkin Leaves Residue of Pain on Nicklas Backstrom
If you didn't notice, Ovechkin tried to hit anything that moved in the second round series against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Washington's Nicklas Backstrom found that out the hard way.
Late in the second period of Game 7, Ovechkin eyed up Evgeni Malkin as he skated along the boards.
Malkin, sensing the motoring Ovechkin, steered himself out of the way before it was too late.
Backstrom, who was pressuring Malkin, didn't see it coming.
Ovechkin flattened Backstrom, who shrugged off what was a solid collision between two teammates.
Like Ovechkin hits against the Penguins, he left his feet in the process of checking Backstrom.
Ovechkin probably didn't care, either.
