Green With Envy (July 26-August4)
As you will see, a lot of comments made it onto GWE this time. Apologies in advance if yours isn't on here; it was a lot to keep track of, so I'm bound to miss a few!

Green With Envy (June 11-15) and a poll
This edition of Green With Envy featured many LeBron related comments and pictures, a lot of golanbatrac, and a little bit of NFL.
Green With Envy (June 4-11)
(I know some of these were posted before 6/4, but they didn't become green until then.)
"Walker then adds the struggles of Brady Quinn in
coldweather to the mix."Fixed for accuracy, and that should explain why BQ is utterly irrelevant to this issue.

Not if it had hands and was moving left to right.

Off Topic: Books
(Thanks to Simms for the banner!)
I thought doing a books topic would be fun, especially because I love to read. Judging by the various opinions on movies, music, and television, I'm sure this community has very diverse taste in books as well.

Sporcle: Name teams of the big four U.S. sports
You have twelve minutes to name the 122 teams that make up the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL. How many can you get?
My score-
NFL: 32/32
MLB: 28/30
NBA: 24/30
NHL: 15/30 (surprising since I don't watch hockey)
Total: 99/122
Misses-
NFL: none (barely figured them all out)
MLB: Brewers, Astros
NBA: Warriors, Pacers, Bucks, Kings, Raptors, Jazz
NHL: Ducks, Thrashers, Bruins (doh!), Flames, Stars, Oilers, Kings, Wild, Predators, Devils, Senators, Coyotes, Blues, Maple Leafs
Top Comments: May 25-June 3 (and a poll!)
Here's the first edition of top rec'd comments on DBN. I plan on doing this every week or so, but it really depends on how many comments get rec'd. I was going to wait a little bit longer on this first one, but there are a lot of comments. If I missed any, add them in the comment section.
OT: NBA Finals
I checked over at FTS, and as of 9:01, there's no Finals thread. I know this was a suggested OT thread, so I decided to put it up. If you're rooting for LeBron, you should probably leave. Apologies to non-basketball fans.
I need some more words:
Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs. Go Mavs.

Ryan Mallett is clearly not very bright.
"Many around the NFL have been troubled by Mallett’s propensity for big mistakes in critical moments. When asked how he answers those concerns, Mallett said: "Seven thousand-plus yards and 60 touchdowns in two seasons. That’s how I respond to that."'
"Still, the daunting question about Mallett came back to the alleged drug use. He stonewalled again and again until he was asked bluntly: "This question isn’t going away until you answer. Why not just answer it?"
"Because I don’t want to talk about it," Mallett said."
Wow. This guy's draft stock is really going down. What a stupid way to answer those questions. It seems like he has just as much cockiness as Ryan Leaf and the like.
Season in Review Part 1: QB (Part 2) Colt McCoy
Colt McCoy wasn’t supposed to see the field in 2010. His job was to sit behind Delhomme and Wallace while learning the playbook and getting a feel for the NFL. He was third on the depth chart. Well, in true Cleveland fashion, McCoy was forced into the starting role due to injuries.
Draft Profile: DE Da'Quan Bowers, Clemson
Today's draft profile highlights a player who is sure to be under consideration for the Cleveland Browns at No. 6 overall, DE Da'Quan Bowers. Promoted to front page by Chris P.
BREAKING: Andrew Luck returning to Stanford
Wow. I bet Carolina fans are about to die right now. This season wasn't kind to us Browns fans, but could you imagine thinking that we were going to get this guy and then have this happen? That sucks for them.
Ryan Mallett, Blaine Gabbert, and Jake Locker are celebrating right now.
Jimmy Clausen is jumping for joy while he looks back on tape of his glory days at Notre Dame.
Could it be that Luck didn't want to go to Carolina?
And now the question is who becomes the #1 pick: AJ Green? Da'Quan Bowers? Nick Fairley?
I don't think any of the other QBs are worth a #1 pick.
Credit to the people who called this.
New Year means New Hope
2010 wasn't a very good year for Cleveland sports fans.
LeBron decided to pack up and leave for Miami, causing the Cavaliers to fall into oblivion in the NBA. They may become the first team since Jordan left the Bulls to go from first to worst in the East. Besides that, his "homecoming" showed the fans being more passionate about the game than the players wearing the Cavaliers jerseys. And the Heat continue to get better as they get used to playing with each other.
The Tribe dealt with injuries throughout the season (see: Grady Sizemore, Carlos Santana, Asdrubal Cabrera) and didn't even win 70 games. We saw Cliff Lee dominate in the post season, wondering why he had to wait to have these kind of performances on the mound until after the 2007 season.
And the Browns will finish, at best, 6-10 this season. The Browns, like the Indians, were also plagued with injuries to their key players. And now the speculation of Mangini's future rears its ugly head for the second season in a row.
But there's hope for the future.
The Cavaliers have to get worse before they get better again. That's how it is in the NBA. We may not have LeBron, but we all can see that teams have won championships the past few years without LeBron on their team.
The Indians will have Carlos Santana at catcher this season. Hopefully, Grady can return back to his pre-injury self. And the Indians play in a division that's up for grabs most seasons. 2011 may not be a contending season, but possibly 2012?
And last but not least, the Browns. We have Peyton Hillis. Ben Watson, a great pick up, will be back next year. Our draft picks (Haden and Ward especially) look like long term starters for a team that was desperate for talent in the secondary prior to this season. We may have finally found our quarterback in McCoy (/crosses fingers). Basically, it looks like our FO has put together a pretty darn good first draft. We can have hope that they can repeat this success in the 2011 draft. Brian Robiskie is finally starting to emerge and be effective. The Scott Fujita pick up was great. Also, we have a lighter schedule next season! Yay! I don't think it'll be unrealistic to say we could go 8-8 next season or maybe better.
So, 2010 wasn't great for us Cleveland fans (or Browns fans in general). But tomorrow begins a new year, and if you look hard enough, you can see that things are gradually beginning to look up.
And finally, Happy New Year, everyone!
