A different angle perhaps? How about the FA pool?

So we're all buzzing off the the Amar'e possibility. But seems like that Suns are butt hurt that we got Stephen Curry @ #7 and the deal could be losing it's legs. No indication the Warriors would go this way, but what if they look to add that "beef" through Free Agency?

Looking @ Chad Fords latest list of available FA's. We need to take into consideration that some are restricted, but would any GSoMers be interested in some of these player out there? Also, not to sure about the number, but does anyone know what kind of flexibility we currently have w/ the cap? Maybe some more player movement to dump some $$$ could have us bringing in a quality player.

I've added a poll to see what kinda of player we're really looking for. The list includes some small players that could play the 3/4, and some larger 4/5 players(at least in our system). I know there are a few other like Gooden, Wilcox and Frye that could fill some roster slots, but I'm going for the bigger named players.

REMEMBER: This is hypothetical, if we could get a FA. Not counting the Cap.

With all the rumors swirling from Baron being offered up to us constantly, and the fact that the Warriors are taking some hard looks at swing players, even though we've been stacked at that position for quite a while, do any of you GSoMer's get the feeling that we gonna be picking in the mid-late first round instead?

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/06/05/SPTK181547.DTL

In this recent article from the examiner it's discussed how Baron keeps getting offered up by the Clips, and the fact that the Warriors have and are continuing to pursue Bosh, heavily. And now the Dallas Morning News is saying that the Warriors may trade Stephen Jackson?

The fact that the pics we are bringing into camp, except for Jordan Hill, have been projected to go much lower than 7th overall, makes me think that we are really looking to trading the 7th and probably some players to a team picking behind us. Which would hopefully mean getting a good quality starter back in return.

What do you guys think of the possible trade of Jax?

Also, Today's ESPN Insider has Bosh stating that he wants a max contract, when asked if he would give Toronto a home town discount to surround him w/ a better squad, he basically said NO, but as he put it, "in a nice way". Not sure if the Warriors could swing the trade, then offer the Max and still have Bosh willing to re-up. Seems like we may have to fish elsewhere, which bring me to this question...

Last year during the trade season, Tim Kawakami wrote an article (which I'm trying to find) on how well Zach Randolph would fit w/ the Warriors, despite his conditioning. A big body in the paint who can flat out score and give you 20-10 a night, with little D to boot, so'd he'd fit right in. Would you guys be opposed to trading for Zach Randolph? Maybe some blockbuster combination that would bring Baron and Randolph? I'm sure this would include something like Mags, Jamal, and Ronny or BW plus an extra Mil or 2.

What are your guy's thoughts?

First off, here's the link...

http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/57381/20090219/warriors_will_stand_pat/#

What do you guys think? With Randolphs recent insert into our rotation after Biendrins went down, I think the kid has shown that he could play? I've been a big proponent of our most recent 1st rounder, and I think with a little smoothing of the edges, we could have something special.

As for the BD to the Bay article, I'm not sure what it would take. But if it could comprise of some smalls, and maintain most of our bigs, I don't see why we would do that. Cap allowing of course. The interesting thing is that the Clips have a surplus of bigs at this point, so I'm not sure they'd be seekin that in return. This could be interesting.

With a current lineup of as follows:

1. Crawford

2.Morrow/Buike

3.Jacks

4.Magg

5.Andris

This is in my opinion the most "Realistic" liineup for our squad to put on the court as soon as we get Jamal in Uni. Since Monta's wrapped up and place under our Christmas tree until we can unwrap him in late December(if that early), how do you feel about the new look Dubs?

In reading Hollinger's analysis on ESPN, this caught my attention and got me thinking....

"So in a nutshell, the Warriors improved their present without severely impacting their future, while the Knicks improved their future without severely impacting their present. All the attention will be on the latter aspect because of the implications for the Great LeBron Sweepstakes. But don't underestimate the former -- the path to a spot in the West's top eight just got measurably tougher, so fans in places like Dallas and Denver should care about this trade just as much as those in Cleveland."

When Monta comes home and we get to put a squad consisting of 4, YES...count'em....4.....20 PPG Scoreres, how well are our chances of seeing the playoffs this year?

Real GM says that Donnie Walsh is once again lookin to pick up Al Harrington to play in D'Antoni's system. Looks like the Knicks wanna give up Curry, but the spurs want to get in on the deal and have Curry go their way, so they might give up a piece to the Warriors...but who?

The Dubs want David Lee, straight up.

Warriors Talking about Tinsley w/ Pacers....

Well, to be honest, I thought the Pacers were done talking with the Warriors for a while after our last trade...And it's funny they're lookin to at Al back. But I think this does help both teams, Tinsley is a problem in Indiana, much like Jackson became, I can only hope if this were to come to terms, he would have the same resurrection Jackson had when heading to the Town.

What do you guys think about this one...Tinsley is a good point when healthy, and not a distraction, but is he worth it?

Link..

http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/54291/20080905/warriors_and_pacers_talking_about_tinsley/

EDIT: In addition, it says the Pacers would be trying to include Daniels, and the W's would have to include another 2 Mil worth. After using the Trade Checker, Al + Kosta for Tinsley and Daniels would work. But do we want another surplus of Guards again? Al is one of the only shooting(streaky of course) bigs that we have, Nelly revolves alot of his system around this type of player, though Al hasn't panned out as well, can we afford to let him go?

Now...I know it was a business decision, I know your an LA Kid. But if there's one thing I had more that the LA Lakers and the LA Clippers in General, it's this.....

http://www.nba.com/clippers/photogallery/bdavis_lad_080730_1.html?rss=true

This adds insult to injury in my book, and I KNOW some of you really won't mind but this, THIS....this is too much. I officially RENOUCE Baron Davis! I wasn't going to boo you, I wasn't going to knock what you did for you what did to Dubs Franchise, I would have even applauded you when you came to the Bay. BUT NOW, now it's ON. Thats TWO of my teams you've dissed now....and I can't takes no more!

It's OVER!

You keep asking "WHY?" Well....Here's WHY!

Now, I'm not trying to knock any GSoMer's on here, but I keep hearing people questioning every move we have made this off season, and keep saying this guy or that guy is a horrible acquisition, but I just don't see your reasoning? Don't get me wrong, I love my Dub's and like most homers I get attached to the players. You root for guys like Barnes with his career on the brink of extinction, who all of a sudden resurrects himself to help the Dubs end the 13 year drought, or Azubuike who makes a name for himself in the D-League only to step up in the absence of our beloved J-Rich and become another fan favorite, Pietrus, the crazy/funny Frenchy who we drafted and came w// the hopes of "Air France", I'm not even going to get into the whole Baron debacle.

But here's the bottom line....Baron bolted for the Clips(I don't care who's fault it was),Pietrus wanted a bigger role and signed w/ the Magic, Barnes barely made the rotation last year and is now a Sun, and Azubuike will be joining Baron the LaLa Land.

Aside from Baron, the impact the rest of these guys had on the squad was minimal. Pietrus did a great job trying to become a 4 and rebound/defend for us, Buike did great as a starter for a short while, but just couldn't put it together consistently off the bench(Yeah, we know he was injured, it showed in his lack of hops/mobility), and Barnes, well, he just kind of fell off.

So I want to address all of you who have asked "Why?" This guy or that guy, and how I've heard some say " I don't see how he fits?" I've put together my scouting reports on these guys and compared them to a need for the Warriors or a deficiency that they fill.

Mags: This guys is the NBA equivalent of an up the middle running back, he just gets there. His ability to get to the rim, get fouled and get points from the stripe at 81% is something the Warriors have lacked for a few years now. How many of us sat there and got increasingly frustrated when we would keep throwing up 3's or settling for jumpers when we had a diminishing lead or the opposing team had a big name shot blocker in the paint? Not to mention he shot 45% from the field and 39% from long range last year? This guys 22 ppg will dramatically lessen the loss of Baron points. GREAT pick up, and adds a dimension the Warriors have lacked for quite some time.

Ronny: Lets see, he's described everywhere as a "High Energy" guy who comes off the bench to Rebound, Block Shots, and provide some good Hustle and Defense? Yet some say they don't know why we would pick him up? THIS is a combination of EVERYTHING the Warriors lacked last year. People feel we needed a Low-Post scorer, which on some teams would be essential, but with Nellie Ball, the rock wouldn't slow down enough to get to the post that often. So instead, we pick up another good big, in the mold of Biendrins who can bang with the low-post scorers that dominated us down low in the paint through out last season. At 6'10", 250 Lbs, he's not the "Ideal" 5 spot for teams, but in Nellie's Run-Gun style, you betcha he is.(Don't forget he can hit a 18-19 footer pretty consistently) Another great fit for the team.

Marcus Williams: Ok..coming out of college, everyone had him pegged as the best "Pure PG" in the draft. He hasn't panned out for the Nets. Don't get it twisted, he is NOT J-Kidd. Kidd plays at a whole different pace than we do, the Nets were molded around him. For a young, highly touted PG to fill those shoes? It's a ton of pressure. Watchin him @ UConn, the kid CAN play, he excelled in the open floor, he's got great court vision and handles, he has struggled in the half court set when trying to create a little too much for himself, he would be better suited on a team that can get up and down quickly so he can emphasize his strong points...Oh!...Wait! A team JUST like ours!! This is a gamble, but just like Mike DunNothin was NOT a good fit for our squad, now he's got Indy fans eating out of the palm of his hands, I'm sure the Warriors are hoping he'll be a product of his environment and develop into the PG he was supposed to be. (Oh..he's a 38% 3pt shooter also) So another good move that spells Monta(Yes he'll be a backup) at the 1 spot.

Mo Evans: Why O' Why didn't we just keep Azubuike??? Well, we don't know if we will or not, you can speculate we won't match because of this signing. But either way, it doesn't take away from Evans being a good(cheap) pickup. The guy can play in this league, he's proven it. He's got good D, he's a good athletic scorer w/ hops, can hit the 3 well, his knocks are his handles, so he's better suited for a 3 than a 2, but is under sized for that position on most teams...but NOT Nellie Ball. His game does remind me allot of Azubuike's but his 48%(+4%) from the floor and 39%(+3%) from 3pt land are BETTER than Kelenna's stats last year AND he's cheaper! How is this not a good pick up??

Update: Great to see Azubuike back, a little more expensive than Evans, but good to see the organization bring back a fan favorite.

I know we all root for our guys, and get attached, but people, this is a business, I would be all for beating down Mulson's door if they were just playing pick-up sticks with our roster after Baron bailed, BUT if you take a step back, count to 10 and rub your ear lobes while saying "OOOOSSSSAAA", you'll see that we're adding key pieces that do indeed fit our play style, and in fact, one can argue that the players we picked up, will see a significant improvement to they're production and numbers, while the guys that have decided to bail, will almost certainly see a drop, so goes Nellie Ball

We'll see during the season how things play out, but I believe the subtraction of Baron has jaded some of us, while other have noticed that the sum of the pieces which we have been added have essentially replaced what we'd be missing.

Keep Believing GSoMer's....it's what's gotten us this far in the first place.

Homegrown? What about Eddie House?

Well, according to ESPN Insider, Eddies got a few offers on the table, and all the Celts want to give him is the league minimum @ 1 year, so he looks to be headin out. What do you guys think about the possibilites of pickin him up as the back up PG?

I grew up in Hayward and played him in some pick ups a couple times, the dude can shoot the lights out, and considering we're looking to have Belinelli and Jax handle the ball more often, a good scoring PG might not be a bad idea...and he has one of the lowest turnover ratios in the league...

Just seeing what the GSOM'ers think....I don't know if he'd be what we need?
