Mile High Hockey I'll Be On Puck Daddy Radio Tomorrow!

Hey guys! Sorry about the (incredibly) long MHH absence... School and work are time consuming and whatnot.  Anyway, I thought I'd just throw this out there really quick.

I won the qualifying round of Moller Madness on Puck Daddy Radio.  For people that don't listen to Puck Daddy, they play a Randy Moller clip of one of his goal calls where he famously peppers in pop culture references, and you have to name what the pop culture reference is.  Anyway, I qualified by getting "BEYONCE HAD ONE OF THE GREATEST VIDEOS OF ALL TIME" right haha...

So yeah, I'll be on Puck Daddy Radio at 1:35ET, 11:35 Avalanche time.  If you want to listen you can go to www.radio.thescore.com, click "Listen Live" on the right, and then ignore the "buffering" message if you get one and just click the play button.  It'll start playing automatically.  And if you can't listen live, you can download every day's show on iTunes under Puck Daddy Radio on the podcasts section.

Oh, and I'm playing for $250 in Gongshow Hockey gear.  I want me some Maple Leafs slippers.  Not at all a Leafs fan, I just think they look sweet.

Viva El Birdos Hey all

I've been subscribed to the Birdos blog for awhile now, but am yet to be active on it.  I am a HUGE hockey fan, so that has been at the forefront of my attention lately, but with spring training looming closer, I thought I better introduce myself.  I am a student at the University of Northern Iowa who loves baseball and had the privilege of watching Pujols play minor league ball in Peoria for about 20 games (lived there briefly).  I was 11 I think and I bet my dad a whole dollar that Pujols would make it into the majors, to which my dad said he didn't have a prayer.  I got my dollar.  Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself, and I look forward to talking baseball with you guys.  Go Cardinals!

Sounder At Heart Hey!

I've been subscribed to the Sounder At Heart blog for awhile now, but am yet to be active on it.  I am a HUGE hockey fan, so that has been at the forefront of my attention lately, but with Sounder season looming closer, I thought I better introduce myself.  I am a student at the University of Northern Iowa who loves football/soccer (not sure which term you guys use on this blog just yet) and a big Chelsea supporter (stereotypical, I know, but I started rooting for Chelsea when I was really little because I had the hots for a girl in my class in like 1st grade named Chelsea, and as soon as I heard there was a team with that name, they instantly became my team.)  I always wanted to root for an MLS team, but no team seemed to have the passion that I wanted in a club to support.  I happened to be channel surfing one day and landed on the SSFC-NYRB inaugural game and was mesmerized at the support the fans were giving.  Add to this that I had just returned from my first ever trip to Seattle a few weeks prior (LOVE the city by the way!) and that this was a brand new franchise I could follow from the start, and I was hooked.  I am a member of the ECS message board as well, but haven't been on it for awhile.  Anyways, looking forward to the new season, and go Sounders!!!

Mile High Hockey Why Kyle Cumiskey shouldn't teach...

I love Cumiskey, but.... well.... its a good thing he isn't working with kids...  This is a bit old, so bear with me if you've seen it, but I just stumbled upon it today and it made me laugh (I'm an education major, and I know there are quite a few people on MHH that teach....) I've never seen somebody look so defeated by third graders before... He just wants to get the HELL out of there.  If this hockey thing doesn't pan out, teaching probably isn't plan B for Roadrunner.  MEEP MEEP!!!

Mile High Hockey Kyle Quincey to appear in The Tooth Fairy

I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet, so I'll keep it brief in case this is old news.  I was cruising around the LA Kings website out of boredom, and happened to see that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson dropped the first puck at last night's Kings-Bruins game.  I was also intrigued that this got a full article on their website.  As I have no life, I continued to read it and saw that "Former King Kyle Quincey and current prospect John Zeiler were extras in the movie and Johnson said the advice and perspective he gained from them, as well as the other professional hockey players, was critical."

Yeah.
