This is something I saw over at the Cardinals SB Nation blog, vivaelbirdos and thought it to be a cool idea that we could try out here.  The poster who started it over there was oddly enough named jd is legend, so credit to him for the idea before we go any further. 

As jd is legend describes in his post, the idea is basically to spurn on a more nationally based discussion on a semi-regular basis (the suggestion over there is weekly but we can do our own thing as far as frequency) while we all contribute our thoughts to who the best and worst teams are at the time while being able to see just how big of homers we are.

I figure I will leave the initial voting open until Sunday at midnight to give everyone a chance to get their rankings in and I will compile the composite rankings on Monday. Depending on the response I would like to be able to add in some awards like the blogpoll for college football has, so any ideas on that front would be welcome as well.

So if you would like to participate just go ahead and comment with your pre-season power rankings below.  I would also request that on post with rankings you just list the teams 1-30 in the order you want them ranked.  Keeping the rankings and comments seperate would make it a lot easier to compile the rankings on Sunday.
