Some of us were talking in the Gamethread on Saturday and decided that we had come up with a decent nickname for Miguel Cabrera. I wanted to get everyone elses opinion: El Martillo (mar-tee-yo). Means "The Hammer" in Spanish.

It looks like the planned '84 Reunion is running into some trouble getting the guys back in town for the proceedings. Check out the link for full details, but I just had to post this quote from Lou Whitaker:

SI: Juan Cruz to the Royals

And he wants Kirk Ferentz and not Josh McDaniels. As much as I'd like Pioli, there hasn't been a great track record of college coaches coming up to the NFL as a head coach and performing well.
Maybe we do need to give Mayhew a chance, but I wish we'd have at least interviewed some other people instead of gift wrapping the job for him.
I hope Mayhew's vague "plan" includes building up the trenches firt.
