Better coach comes out on top
Frustrated? Of course.
Surprised? Not in the least.
You can trace today's WVU loss to Syracuse to Jan. 4, 2008 -- the day former AD Ed Pastilong and W.Va. Gov. Joe Manchin conspired early in the morning following an emotional Fiesta Bowl victory over Oklahoma to hire Bill Stewart.
Today, Syracuse coach Doug Marrone proved how a good coach prepares his team for a game and has a signature win. Today, Stewart proved once again he's way in over his head and doesn't get that WVU should be a Top 20 team every year.

Devine tabbed top 'Home Run' threat on Bleacher Report
Over at the Bleacher Report, West Virginia running back Noel Devine was selected as the top "Home Run' threat among all of college football for the 2010 season. His runs against Auburn, Connecticut and Pitt are just a few of the examples of why he garnered this honor.
The list also includes Pitt's Dion Lewis and Jonathan Baldwin and Cincinnati's Zach Collaros. Read more here. The same feature, but in a different format is also at its original blog, Eye And Eer.
Get your Penn State 2010 football poster now
via store.cstv.com
OK, you have to wait until mid-July when they ship, but the 2010 Penn State Football Schedule Poster is for sale.
Why write about this? As a child my father used to get these all of the time as a high school coach at an inner city school loaded with D1 talent. He'd bring them home and I'd put them up around my room.
This official 2010 Nittany Lions football poster reminds me of this more innocent time when coaches like Charley Pell and Danny Ford were roaming the sidelines following NCAA rules to the T.
I also have to admit that there's something appealing about these simple posters. If I gave a damn about Penn State I'd probably shell out the $6 for one.
If you're interested, just click here and get yours.
Now I think I'll surf around tonight and see if I can find some others for comparison purposes.

Slaton, White featured on new Topps card
Former WVU greats Steve Slaton (Houston Texans) and Pat White (Miami Dolphins) are going to be featured in a new Topps Magic Football set. Slaton and White will be in their Mountaineer uniforms and it will be part of a special dual autograph subset. The cards look very nice and are modeled after an old 1951 set. The packs are $4 each. I'm sure this card will sell at a premium in Mountaineer country. Here is the article.
White is a Wildcat
Pat White just may have a future in the NFL. It seems there are some football people who think the former West Virginia quarterback could play in the Wildcat Formation that the Dolphins popularized this past season.
After an impressive showing at the NFL Combine, White could be the shock pick on Day 1 of the Draft (April 25-26 in New York City). Look, if Ronnie Brown can be successful in the Wildcat think how good White could be. He could be a steal in the second round.
