McLouth's Baserunning Prowess
According to Fangraph's new baserunning statistic, Nate McLouth has been the best baserunner in the majors so far this season. This stat doesn't take into account SB or CS (which are factored into wOBA), so almost 3 runs added for what is essentially taking the extra base seems pretty impressive. This slightly makes up for him being the second worst fielder in baseball (by UZR), and is the reason why he's contributing a smooth 0.0 WAR instead of something below replacement level. Perhaps there is at least something to his strangely-high percentage of scoring after getting on base?
Also interesting: everyone's favorite MVP Melky Cabrera apparently is the third best baserunner so far, making one wonder exactly how much small sample bias is affecting this stat. Chipper finishes fourth from last, which shouldn't really surprise anyone. Finally, Martin comes in a respectable (actually, really good) 12th, which is consistent with his 11th place finish from last year. So Odarp does the little things well... what a shocker.
