&lt;p&gt;After the game, utility infielder Ramon Vazquez was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. Lou Merloni was called up, I'm not sure that I understand the move, but it sure makes you wonder why we kept him over Brandon Phillips 290 25 RBI and 8 steals. Lou Merloni is not that good of a def infielder and bats Right Handed so I'm not sure where and when we are going to play him, unless there is more moves coming. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;CLEVELAND -- First baseman Ben Broussard avoided salary arbitration on Wednesday by agreeing to terms on a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Cleveland Indians.&lt;br /&gt;
Broussard is expected to platoon this season with recently signed free agent Eduardo Perez. Last year, Broussard made $365,000 while batting .255 with a career-high 19 homers and 68 RBI in 142 games.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;He had initially asked for $2.6 million in arbitration and had been offered $2.2 million&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;CLEVELAND -- Free-agent outfielder Todd Hollandsworth agreed Monday to a minor-league contract with the Cleveland Indians.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;Hollandsworth&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Hollandsworth hit .254 with five homers and 35 RBI in 107 games last season for the Chicago Cubs. The 32-year-old was traded to Atlanta on Aug. 29 for two minor-league pitchers.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;He played in 24 games for the Braves but was not on the club's postseason roster for the NL playoffs against Houston.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In 2004, Hollandsworth, a .275 career hitter, batted .318 with eight homers and 22 RBI in 57 games for Chicago.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Hollandsworth, originally drafted in the third round of the 1991 draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers, has also been with Colorado, Texas and Florida. He won the NL rookie of the year award in 1996, when he hit .291 with 12 homers, 59 RBI and 21 steals in 149 games for the Dodgers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
