Great article in the Gazette on the maturation of Big Ben. Not a big surprise because this has been discussed recently, but character and personality are a part of the game that is not always evident, or understood even by teamates, let alone fans. It reads as though Taylor was genuinely surprised and impressed by his star quarterback reaching out to him. The gesture is just another thing that indicates to me that Ben's recent monster contract came at the right time, not only in terms of his play on the field, but as his develoment as a person.

Drafting #7 ranks as one the great personell moves by the proud franchise. He is experienced and proven as a player, and mature enough to handle what it all means (the big contract, gifted athlete, solid teamate and character) means. If that is possible? After all, BIG ben is making, BIG time money.

Man, he is special. As a fan, he is becoming one of my favorite players. No doubt he's gonna make a great captain and likely remain one into the foreseeable future. Go Steelers.
