FEI: Previewing Alabama vs. LSU
Good read based around FEI stats on each team and how they stack up against each other.
Except his defensive FEI ratings say Okie State is #1 in D. Can't see that one...
A&M to the SEC won't go away
Now the Texas governor is mentioning it.
Going to St. Louis for Halloween game?
I just bought tickets for the wife and I to the Rams game on the 30th. Wondering if anyone else is making the trip or going to the game from that area.
Would love to meet up with some of Who Dat Nation for some tailgating before the game. The game's at 12:00. Don't know much about parking around the dome in St. Louis. Anybody got any tailgating info?
I'll be rocking an Ingram jersey (If I can find one) with a University of Alabama cap that day...
Football means more in Tuscaloosa than it does just about anywhere else, and the Kent State game gives residents -- many of whom are still trying to rebuild their lives -- a reason to come together and cheer after months of struggling. When Bear Bryant's voice growls through the speakers at Bryant-Denny Stadium, the roar might match the decibel level after a last-second win in a critical SEC game. The offseason in Tuscaloosa has been long and painful. Football will help make life normal again.
Danny Sheridan: 'NCAA Looking for Cam Newton Bag Man'
Take it with a grain of salt, but Sheridan doesn't often deal in rumors.
K.J. Choi donates $200,000 of his TPC winnings to tornado victims.
I knew I liked K.J. for a reason. The South Korean is donating $200,000 of his $1.71M worth of winnings from last weeks Player's Championship to benefit victims of the April 27th tornados. I find it heartwarming when professional athletes perform acts like this one. If only the media would put the same amount of effort forth to cover athletes and celebrities when they do the right thing as they do when they screw up.
Well done, Sir!

Where to watch in Memphis
My wife and I along with some friends are travelling to Memphis over the upcoming weekend and would like to find a good place to watch the game on Saturday. I went to the Alumni website and it appears that the area Alumni may have viewing parties at The Fox and Hound Pub. The info may be a bit dated. Also I see where the Fox and Hound has UT parties listed on their website (not good). Anybody have good info/suggestions on the Memphis watching locations?
Nick Saban at media days
Ingram named SEC male athlete of the year
Mark Ingram has been named the SEC male athlete of the year.
Well done sir!!!
Charlotte Morgan for Lowe's Senior class award
Charlotte is currently second in votes for the Lowe's senior class award. Let's see what we can do to make up the difference. You can vote once per day, so everbody get busy. You can find the link next:
If someone's already posted this ...my bad, didn't see it after a quick search. Haven't had my second cup of cofee yet this morning.

Run at the record books
It appears that concerns over the lack of experience of Greg McElroy were a bit unfounded. According to ESPN's Chris Low, GMAC is now third in the Alabama record books behind Jay Barker and Brodie Croyle in passing attempts without an interception. He needs only 15 attempts to take over second place from Jay. I hate to get lost in statistics but it's nice to see GMAC doing well.
Also mentioned in the post are Alabama's season offensive numbers. It appears that, to this point of the season, we have found that offensive zen with the passing attack accounting for 1,327 yards versus 1,341 rushing.
Nice Yin and Yang...
Rolando for Butkus
The candidates for the Butkus Award have been narrowed down to 16 semi-finalists. It should come as no surprise to anyone on this forum that our resident man-child Rolando McClain has made the cut. Others from the league are:
Brandon Spikes, Florida
Perry Riley, Louisiana State
Rennie Curran, Georgia
Eric Norwood, South Carolina
Show's that it's hard to find better linebacker play anywhere else in the nation with the SEC taking 5 of the 16 spots. If Donte were not injured, that could be 6 of 16. Nice to see the LB position is alive and well in Lee Roy Jordan's old stomping grounds.
What if sports Sugar Bowl Game simulation
http://www.whatifsports.com/fox_cf/Sugar08.asp
What kind of crappy software simulation are these people running? Look at the box score. Does anyone in their right mind expect us to lose if we gain 300+ yards on the ground. Coffee and Ingram both go over 100 yards and we lose on a 51 yard field goal 19-17? Utah runs for well over 200 yards?
While I do think the game will be much closer than Vegas anticipates, I am truly unimpressed with their skills at predictive analysis. I would like for them to explain to me how we run for over 3 bills in their sim and only score 17 points.
Tom Arnold's comments on Julio
Tom Arnold called into Finnebaum this afternoon and said (loosely quoted) "that Jones kid #8 may be the best college receiver I've ever seen. He's unfreakin' believable. He reminds me of Micheal Irvin when he played with the cowboys."
Hope Tom's a better judge of football talent than suitable spouses.
I don't know if I can take 8 more days of waiting...Let's get it on!!!
Also, does anybody else think Clemson might be slightly overrated. I know they appear loaded at the skill positions, but I think they they will be starting 4 new OL's and 2-3 new LB's. I think they will have some difficulties early in the season with that many inexperienced offensive linemen.
