Sam Smith @ nba.com: Tyreke for Deng?
".. Deng’s value is generally considered less because he could miss part of the start of next season. Trade him to the Kings for Tyreke Evans, who they’re trying to make a small forward on the way to pushing him out the door, and who knows how long Deng would want to recuperate? I know I’d take my time before reporting to Sacramento."

LV Sun: Maloofs book Pauly D as Palms resident DJ
I only post this to make the comparison that the Maloofs drafting Jimmer is the basketball equivalent of them hiring Pauly D as their house DJ. Marketability trumps talent these days for the Maloofs.
Gavin on Sports Business Radio
he's finally nailed down those talking points

Mayor KJ spotted at LA Live!
Small tidbit from a friend who works for AEG- Mayor KJ was spotted today touring the LA Live/Staples Arena complex with Tim Leiweke.
Could AEG be interested in helping us build a Sacramento Live entertainment/hotel/retail complex with a new arena, to revitalize downtown? They've done it before.
Small news, but so was word that a Maloof went up to Seattle.
If the Kings eventually leave Sacramento, it won't be because of a lack of Mayor KJ's effort.

howard-cooper a '02 kings-laker conspiracy-denier
i understand that journalistic bias is never a good thing for a sports reporter, but denying that the calls favored the lakers and using a total foul count tally as your reasoning is absurd.
of course, anyone who now writes for nba.com probably has to pour the kool-aid around.
Kings to trade for Houston's Jared Jeffries, Jermaine Taylor before deadline
i see what's in it for Houston, but for us?
DraftExpress: Evans not in game shape?

SportsNickel: DeMarcus Cousins: Best Player from 2010 NBA Draft

Vegas Summer League Schedule + Plan
Plan:
1. vs Detroit - Jul 12. objective: make pistons pay for attempting to manipulate draft with rumors and make pistons fans further burn with envy.
2. Laker scrubs Jul 13th. objective: beat up LAL frontline and set precedent for season of inside domination.
3. vs Minn Jul 14. objective: don't show up Kahn's squad too much, so he'll continue to be employed
4. vs Toronto Jul 16. objective: dominate
5. vs Chicago Jul 17. objective: dominate
6. vs Dallas Jul 18. objective: dominate and incite Mark Cuban agony/misery face

ESPN Rookie of Yr Predictions - Tyreke gets 1 vote out of 52

Poll: Vegas Summer League- which King leads in PPG?
Vegas Summer League is right around the corner and the Kings' roster has 3/5 of their probable starting 5 (by Thanksgiving) and last summer's standout Donte Greene participating. With that firepower, Coach Yoda will have his hands full trying to get these guys to run Princeton sets instead of devolving into the Rucker Park West that summer league usually becomes.
The question is, who will be the biggest black hole and average the most points?
1. Tyreke Evans - the rookie will presumably have the ball in his hands the most, clearly likes to create his own offense, and has the most playground-style friendly game on the Kings. Will he look to prove that Kings made the right choice?
2. Donte Greene - has reportedly put on muscle and has a year of riding the pine (when he wasnt dominating d-league games) to motivate him, and also has shown from last summer's 40pt explosion and 22ppg average for Houston that his game is made for summer
3. Spencer Hawes - the surprise entry 3rd yr man clearly hasn't had enough of beating up inferior competition. Led '08 squad in FGA and 17ppg last summer and would have averaged more if not for Quincy Douby the chucker. But will his minutes be cut to give room for the younger kids?
4. Jason Thompson - came on strong in final games of summer league and ended up averaging a quiet but healthy 16ppg last summer despite having few plays called for him, and presumably will be more of a featured low-post option this summer, putting to use Shareef's moves. Frustrated after not getting the accolades he feels he deserved last year, will he be make the jump Hawes made last summer?
5. Other: will Omar Casspi look to prove the home country proud? Will Jerel McNeal be the Bobby Brown of '09 summer league while fighting for a roster spot? Or will it be some other free agent journeyman?

Voisin: Jerry Reynolds for coach
I'm not going to waste time elaborating on this article but will say: in an oeuvre peppered with crimes to journalism, this column sets a new standard in cynicism.
There's a line between being controversial and just link-baiting. I can't see how Sacbee editors don't see what side of the line she's on now.
