Who do you think is the best QB in the NFL right now?
Personally I would have to go with Phillip Rivers. He reminds me a lot of the all mighty Marino. Praise be to his name.
Daniel Thomas Questionable
Hopefully Thomas is fine but with the luck we have had I wouldn't count on it.
I think it's funny that everyone thought they would go defense with their pick. It looks like the majority was against the Marino pick.
Clyde Gates
Whatever happened to us using Gates to stretch the field? I think I have seen them use him twice. I don't get to watch all the games but from what I did see he was hardly ever in.
Big Signing
I had a few questions. Has anybody heard any more about the big signing we were suppose to get? Carey supposedly had to rework his contract so the Dolphins had extra money to pay for someone. When is free agency officially over?
Starting Quarterbacks in the NFL
I read some where in one of the posts that it is normal for teams like us to go so long without a good quarterback so I decided to do a little research. Listed below I have all the NFL teams and their starting quarterbacks going back to the early 1980's.
Dolphins Tattoo
I was thinking about getting a dolphin tattoo. I know there are several logos and pics out there that have the muscle dolphin and I believe he has the dolphins helmet on. I can't seem to find any. If anybody has a pic like this or knows where I can get it please let me know. Thanks.
I need some help playing fantasy football.
This is my first time playing fantasy football. I am not sure who to start and who to sit. There are only four people in my league and I ended up being the last to draft. I can use all the help and advice I can get.
This is how I have my starters so far:
Phillip Rivers (QB Chargers) @ Kansas City
Ray Rice (RB Ravens) @ New York Jets
Rashard Mendenhall (RB Steelers) @ Atlanta Falcons
Andre Johnson (WR Texans) Indy
Brandon Marshall (WR Dolphins) @ Buffalo Bills
Steve Smith (WR Giants) Carolina Panthers
Antonio Gates (TE Chargers) @ Kansas City
Chad Ochocinco (WR Bengals) @ New England
David Akers(K Eagles) Greenbay
Packers(Defense) @ Philly
And on the bench I have-
Tom Brady (QB New England) Bengals
Tony Gonzalez (TE Falcons) @ Steelers
Anquan Boldin (WR Ravens) @ New York Jets
Joseph Addai (RB Colts) @ Houston Texans
Hines Ward (WR Steelers) Atlanta Falcons
Pierre Thomas (RB Saints) Minnesota Vikings ( I can't play him because he already played)
Dan Carpenter (K Dolphins) @ Buffalo Bills
Steelers (Defense) Atlanta Falcons
I did have Boldin starting as my fourth WR but because of Revis I took him out and put in Ochocinco.
Thanks for any help.
The Dolphins Wide Recievers
The Dolphins wide recievers have been talked about a lot recently. I would like to add more on that and get peoples opinions. I compiled a list off all the wr's on the Dolphins roster right now below. Wow, I didn't realize there was so many until I typed them.
Out of the ten we have, who is your favorite? How many recievers do you think the Dolphins will keep on the roster? And which ones?
Brandon Marshall Brandon Marshall
Davone Bess Greg Camarillo
Ryan Grice-Mullen My personal rankings of our wr's -----> Ryan Grice-Mullen
Roberto Wallace Patrick Turner
Brian Hartline Julius Pruitt
Greg Camarillo Roberto Wallace
Patrick Turner Taurus Johnson
Taurus Johnson Marlon Moore
Although the list on the right is my personal rankings, it can be hard to judge. There are many recievers that we haven't had a chance to look at,especially not at the professional level.
Brandon is of course our new number one reciever. After him it will more than likely be Davone Bess at slot and either Greg or Brian as number 2.
Personally I think Patrick Turner will still make it as a wide reciever. I think he has too much skills not to make it eventually. I would like to see him on the field at some point this year.
I believe Brandon, Davone, Greg, and Brian will be the main guys. I don't think they are going to let Turner go yet. I strongly believe they will keep developing him until they feel he is a force to be reckoned with. And to finish things out, I say that Grice-Mullen stays on the roster. He will primarily be a special teams return guy. So, yes I think we will keep 6 recievers on our roster.
Ok, I finished my rant about our wide recievers. What do you guys think? Who is the best? How many wide outs are going to stay? And which ones? I look forward to hearing everyone's opinions on the matter.
The Dolphins WR Problem
I see a lot of people saying that the Dolphins should draft a WR in the first or second round. I am writing this article to completly disagree with this logic. The sad thing is I use to be on the WR bandwagon. It was only a few weeks ago that I looked at and compared the talent.
The defensive talent in the draft this year far outweighs any offensive ones. There is just too many defensive studs to pass up. Then you look at the talent of this years WR's. It is not really that great compared to last year. Most people have Dez Bryant as the head of the WR talent pool. I greatly disagree with this but I will get to that later.
The Dolphins have a lot of young athletes in their WR depth chart. Alot of people say it takes about 3 years to become a good reciever. I don't know if I agree with this or not but it does take time. For one if the young talent doesn't have at least one veteran in the position who are they going to learn from? I do believe that Turner, Hartline, and yes even Ginn, will become more solid in time.
I believe the Dolphins have two choices and one is close to being gone. The first choice is to get a veteran. They can do this through free agency or through trades. I believe the young WR's need a veteran. Someone who is at the least above average. This choice is close to being gone. They have made no move to secure a WR through free agency. Also as far as I know they have made no motions towards trying to trade for one.
Of course the second option is to draft for one. The draft is always risky. But I believe the draft is even riskier for a WR this year. Like I said before this years draft is defensive heavy. I think the best thing to do is to draft the best defensive players that are still there in our spots for the first 3 or 4 rounds.
Now I get to what I was talking about when I mentioned Dez Bryant. Although a lot of people think he will be the first WR taken ( and he may be) I think he is not a good pick. I believe the best WR and an easy steal of the draft is going to be Danario Alexander. This kid is big at 6'5 and has big yardage after the catch. He has the most recieving yards out of all the WR's in the draft. The only reason he is dropping is because of health concerns. He has had 3 surgeries on his knee.
Let's hope the Dolphins excel in the draft this year. Grab up all those big defensive beasts. Then when the smoke clears and someone like Danario is still there in later rounds, throw a Dolphins jersey his way. Please let me know what you think because this is my first article.
