I APOLOGIZE TO THE BCB COMMUNITY
I apologize to the community for being a drunk over the past month and being inappropriate in terms of talking both poltx and making a lude reference or two. That shouldnt happen and i took my anger of the season out in an unacceptable way. Just wanted to say I apologize.

I will front $300; let's release Miles
The title says it all. I will front three hundo. If every cubs fan will contribute 1$ or 5$ we can pay his salary so he never bats again. HE IS FUCKING TERRIBLE!!!!!! End of discussion. I will be setting up an account soon so we can hopefully contribute to getting rid of Miles. I also want Lou gone after he made the decision to remove the pitcher that was pitching well for the worst player in baseball... its over... This team is more frustrating than the 06 team.. Lets pay to have Miles removed.

I want to say this nicely...
But there comes a point in time where you cant ignore the obvious. We have someone that is hitting better than Wieters in AAA.... Eventually we have to say enough is enough and promote Fox.. His defense might not be the greatest but at the same time his bat might outweigh Lees "defense". Derek has been declining in all phases of his game. This will be a not poplar opinion because the powers at be say that Lee is better than Hoffpaur or Fox.. Maybe But i know a sunken cost when i see it... Derek Lee is a sunken cost.
Our new lineup needs to be
Soriano LF (our player that carries us our "CEO hates"
Dome CF
Fox 1B
Bradley RF
Soto C
Fontenot 2B
Theriot SS
Scales 3B

In what scenario do the Cubs not win the NL Central by ten games?
I just read an interesting article by Gammons on ESPN.com about how everyone is searching for pitchign except for a few teams. He lists us as one of the tams that is searching for pitchng becuase of Harden and becuase no one knows how the Gregg Marmol duel will turn out.
Hwever the thing that interested me the most was the following tidbit, "The Cardinals and Reds can push the Cubs."
Really? I jsut dont see it unless we lose three of the following at the same time (Soto, Bradley, Harden, Rammy, soriano Z) ANd that would have to be for a really long extended period of time I for one am confident that Harden is now going to hold up. They are talking about him lke he finally is figuring it out how to do it. I am also confident that Gameboard is not only gong to stay healthy but he has a legitimate MVP chance. Soto improves Rammy is what he is and if Z is consistent then wow. THis team is really good.
SO that eads to thee question if the Cubs dont have a rash of terrible injuries (or even if they do, we werent exactly all too healthy alst year because i would argue as we go soriano goes and he was on the DL twice. how can we not wn the nl central?
We are so close!!!!!

who is your most frustratng Cub?
I think the question is pretty self evident but was just wondering who yall thought was the cub that left you scratching your head more often than not. The answer to me is #22. I have the tribune hanging on my wall from the day he arrived and the day after he punched out ten helpless pirats n six innings. I just loved the guy. He was dominant. I just dont get what happened to him... I think it was the hawpe liner off the elbow. I was at the ame and i have never heard something ike that... i jsut really hope he pitches again. He was that good.. Just think of our rotation if Prior never got hurt.... We would have commited a lot of money to him..
Its obvio that i am frutrated with Mark what about yall?
I really hope Strasburg works out. Kid is too good and people are saying he is better than Prior. Nats are lucky...

Swagger Like Us- The Milton Bradley Story
I have come to the conclusion that I ma more in favor of the Milton Bradley signing than any move the Cubs have made since the Aramis Ramirez trade. Milton Bradley is an absolute animal. He led the more impressive league in OPS. It is a very rare occurence that a team acquires a player like that and the fans aren't overjoiced. I understand certain peoples concerns that he might have some injury problems but he has come back strong and when healthy is a good outfielder. We don't need this guy to play 162 games (Milton will want to) We need him to play 130 or so and be healthy when it matters.
However the reason I decided to post this, is I think he adds something to this team that was previously missing. Swagger. There is no doubt that this man is a confident individual and is fiery. In the trib today he had this to say about if he would get a fair strike zone, " I doubt it," he said. "But I'm still going to hit .320. It don't matter." I like that type of confidence. This is the type of guy that is going to mash baseballs. He also knows what to do if umps screw with him.
"So now I have Bob Watson on my speed dial, and if I feel like I'm being treated unfairly, that's what I'm going to do. There's a way to go about everything. I'm not going to be disrespected. I'm not going to be treated unfairly."
Thats maturity. All Milton wants is to be treated fairly. His last major injury came when an umpire race baited him. That type of behavior on the umpires behalf is repugnant and Milton should not be blamed. I think this was potentially the best free agent signing that Jim has made in terms of years and cost. I am looking forward to Milton being a productive member of our team this year.(Also if you dont like him blame it on kosuke)

Some other of my rumbling and grumblings so i dont have to start any thing new
1. I really cant see any way this team doesnt win the NL central. It would have to take a significan amount of injuries for us to blow this. I have never felt this confident. I could make a case for every team but the Pirates being second best in the division but not a single case for anyone else being better or at our level.
2. I really like the MLB Network. I am moving to DC and i really hope it is on my cable package. I feel like this is my favortie channel ever and I cant even imagine how much beter it will be during the season. Two thumbs up to the people who came up with this.
3. Aaron Heilman is going to be good I think. Most likely in the BP but maybe even as a starter. He had an abberation of a year last year and I really think he will do good. (Has nothing to do with todays start i have liked him for a while) power pitcher
4. Rich Hill pitches tomorrow. I am very intrigued. I really think we should have maybe kept him around just to see if he could figure it out. Word out of Orioles camp is that his problems were injury related(I dont believe it. I saw the same numbers everyone else did including winter ball) I just have a bad feeling about this one. But at the same time i dont think he would have ever succeeded here. I would like to know who is in the PTBNL list. If someone like Spoone, Erbe, Hernandez, Rowell or Snyder is potentially available solid deal.
5. Looking back on it I sill wouldnt do Pie/Hill or either of them plus ceda for Roberts. I was pretty sure Rich was going to be a staple for a long time. And was confident Pie could be ok. Wow. Just amazed.
6. if the Mets backend of the bullpen is healthy wow. Too bad their starting pitching is meh.
7. Love the Koskie signing. But think that Micah might deserve the spot, if he continues to hit. Part of me is silly in thinking that this team might be almost more productiv if we had Hoffpauir at 1B and could use D-Lees salary elsewhere. Anyone who knows VORP would be welcomed to hime in about how dumb i am.
8. 4-0 feels pretty good.
9. My 25 man roster prediction as of today. (Harden, Z, Lilly, Demps, Marshall, Gaudin, Heilman, Guzman, Cotts, Gregg, Marmol, Vizcaino)(Soto, Hill, Lee, LBR, Miles, Caught Stealing, Rammy, Reed, Soriano, Dome, Milton, Micah, car jumper.
That is all..
p.s. The Broncos are listening to offers for Jay Cutler.... I mean he ahs to be better than throat beard right? Urlacher and a third rounder?

Marshall anointed the fifth starter?
According tot he Tribune and Lou Pinella it looks like Sean marhsall is going to be the fifth starter.
According to Lou, "Sean Marshall will join the rotation and also get about 25 starts, Piniella said, while Jeff Samardzija, Chad Gaudin and rookie Mitch Atkins will get opportunities to start this spring"
via http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-18-cubs-chicagojan18,0,7078164.story
This seems like something new that hasnt been mentioned before. it was somewhat hinted at yesterday that Marshal will get a chance to compete but it looks like as of right now barring a trade we are going to give Sean the ball on the fifth day and let him go.
This leads to a couple of questions and comments that I have. I will start with the comments first.
1. I really like Marshall in the fifth sarters role. I thought he did admirably as a rookie in 06 and I think he did a good job i 07. I think he deserves a shot to succeed and I really think he can be a solid 3-5 starter in the National League.
2. I have always kind of like Marshall a little bit better than Rich Hill. While Rich Hill had the best overall pitch I still really like Marshalls curve and I think he knows how to pitch a lot better. not to mentino he is not a head case.
3. I remember when Mad Dog was here in 06 he said that he though marshall was special and that if he developed would be a fine pitcher one day. I hope I speak for all of us when I say that I trust Maddux's thoughts. He didnt have to say that . He said it because he believed it.
4. I wonder what this means for the fate of Shark. I wonder if he doesnt win the fifth starters job if he will start the year at Iowa. I would love to have him in the pen, but I dont want him to get typecasted into the role ala Jonathan Papelbon. Paps is amazing but I think Shark can start if he works on it and I think any starting pitcher who is solid tends to be more valuable then a one inning pitcher. I would not mind however if Shark spent one last year in the pen, but by doing that we might be hampering his career by not letting him work and developing on starting. Lets not forget that he is still relatively new to the full time starting thing. That is why I would not be unhappy if some RP stepped up in ST (tht is you Gaudin, Wuertz, Guzman, Ascanio) so that we could send Shark to AAA to let him develop.
5. What would the rotation look like? I just read Crasnicks piece on ESPN that the Giants to throw opposing hitters off are going to go with Sea Biscuit Unit Cain Terrible Contract and then Lowry or Sanchez... i say that we go with Z Lilly Demps Marhsall Harden so that we can best give Harden the rest he needs (BTW will we be precautously skipping him? I realyl dont like this idea that we are going into this sayng he might not pitch every fifth day)
6. That is all. Go Cubs

I wish our team could be sold in a month and a half
I find this absolutely amazing that the Padres went on the market in mid-to late November and were sold by the first week of January. This really makes me wonder what the hell has been going on with our ownership situation. At first I was kind of like ok, this is fun we are playing with Zell's dollars, but now its just annoying. We are having a hard time improving our ballclub, and we can't even get fair return on our players becuase teams no we have to cut payroll. (DeRosa) I am just getting a little annoyed, and have a strong feeling that Blago had a lot to do with delaying this.
