Royals Review What the 99% Talk About When WE Talk Baseball

I'm going to preface this little rant by stating the obvious: I'm not a stathead. That in no way makes me any less of a fan than the rest of you on this blog. In addition I'm also not a regular contributor to this blog. There will be no pictures or charts to divert from my message. So for those of you willing to hear me out please read on. The rest of you may be dismissed... such as you dismiss the casual baseball fan.

Arrowhead Pride The Chiefs, Haley, Pioli, and Calling in Sick To Work

I will start off by stating the overly obvious: The Chiefs have suffered a glut of injuries to several key players this year. The missing personnel are the difference between our current 4-6 record and dare I say 7-3 potentially. Other teams have injured players as well, but don't suffer the freefall we've seen in KC. I'm going to attempt to draw a real world scenerio with some parallels to the Chiefs situation and let my fellow APer's make up their own minds on how the team is in such dire straits ten games deep into the season.

Arrowhead Pride Looking Back On The Chiefs Ground Game: Friend Or Foe?

Our beloved Chiefs have an amazing history of great running backs. A few of them could have been considered elite for a season or two, but it seems none of them were around long enough to build a team around them. Looking back fron 1981 through the present I contend lack of stability from great running back talent just may have crippled the Chiefs chances of going deep into the playoffs and to the Superbowl.

There has to be some explanation for this. I'll be damned if I can come up with one.

Royals Review Calmer, Nicer Version of my Last Post

Not too long ago I vented on the Greinke trade. It seems that thread drew a bit of attention for all of the wrong reasons. Now that the initial anger and disbelief have subsided it seems like a good idea to rephrase my thoughts in a  non-combative way. I never intended to anger anyone, but instead to vent some frustration.

Royals Review Just like Grienke, I quit on the Royals too.

First and foremost I believe we got screwed in the deal, but at least we didn't get 4 more Braves castoffs. I haven't been this mad since Jeff King quit on us mid-season. As a lifetime Royals fan I can't take it anymore.

Arrowhead Pride Brodie Croyle = Ringo Starr

I don't usually do the fanpost thing, but all of the recent Brodie bashing has got me thinking. Who in the world is the best comparison to Brodie Croyle? There is one obvious answer...Ringo Starr. My reasoning is simple and to the point, and I'm not going to spend a lot of time on the resemblence between the two of them.

Arrowhead Pride What bothers me the most about Todd Haley

I can handle the fact he fired Chan in the preseason. I can get past the ego maniacal screaming at the players on the sidelines during the game. I'm not completely sure that he's not the one keeping Cassel form starting instead of the medical staff, but that's forgivable. There is one sin committed by Coach Haley that I'll never be able to justify is that he's rockin' the visor on gameday. I'm not sure if it's too Chucky-esque or more metrosexual like Spurrier. Maybe it's too DeBerg-like, back in the days of Martyball. For the sake of your own soul Todd Haley, wear a man's hat or none at all.

Arrowhead Pride The Rivalry Isn't Dead

For those of you that just don't get it, ask a real Chiefs fan. In all of the Land of Enniffel there is no entity as despised as the Raiders. Just speaking of their name I can taste bile in the back of my throat. I'd love to knock Al Dais down a flight of stairs. Just gimme the chance to slap the flat-top right off of Howie Long's enormous square head. I'd kick a baby if it was wearing Raiders gear this weekend. Throw the records out the window, it's Raider Week. When was the last time that phrase had any meaning to any of you? As far as that goes, when was the last time it meant anything to the people who make their living at One Arowhead Drive? It's Raider week and I'm filled with a vigorously renewed hatred.

I know I'm not alone in this hatred. It's more like a love affair with hatred. Hatred for all things silver and black. Real Chiefs fans unite with me in this hatred. Another loss to the Raiders will not be tolerated by the fans. I'm still pissed about losing the coin flip that gave the Raiders the fourth pick in the draft. Just say no to apathy. Stand with me at the top of the mountain and shout it out loud. I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!!! If we can't unite to hate the Raiders, then who can we truly hate? It's time to MAN UP and send a message not only to our beloved team, but the coaching staff and front office as well. THIS IS THE REASON WE ALL BECAME CHIEFS FANS IN THE FIRST PLACE, TO DESPISE THE RAIDERS AND RELISH IN THEIR DEMISE!!!
