Anyone get a chance to watch the 49er's preseason game this week again Minnesota?  Nate Davis looked pretty impressive, even though it was the 3rd string vs 3rd string.  I think that he came out of Ball State and early at that.  I would love to have a guy like this as our 3rd string option at QB.  What is everyone else's opinion on him?  Here is a link to his highlights from NFL.COM:

Well it looks like Seattle decided to not go through the draft in order to find their future "franchise" QB: ESPN Report

And with the Browns filling their need with Delhomme...

What do you think that this does for the chance of Clausen falling to us and creating the perfect opportunity to trade down and pick up a later 1st and 2nd or just drafting Clausen as the our future possible "franchise" QB?

I personally would not be adverse to picking up Clausen and letting him sit and learn for a couple of seasons behind Garrarde...Yes, I know you do not pay a top 10 QB to sit for a year or two, but the ones who do not sit very rarely have success if they are shoved in front of the fire squad.
