Armistice Day - a couple re-posts.

Cycling and Armistice Day In Rememberance Over the years there have been a couple of posts that mark the observance of the World Wars and the men who fought in them. Of special note are...

Rock n' roll and Gary Fisher

2

I had no idea about who Gary Fisher was as a person, all I knew about was the mtb connection. I thought he must have been a hard nosed, master bike builder turns out he is a hippy turned hipster. who says day glow and bikes don't go together. One thing I'd like to know, did he get his bell bottoms caught in the chain too, like i did, back in the day?

Tour of Alberta ready to roll out in September 2013

The race is trying to gain a UCI 2.1 rating that would make it on a par with the Tour of Utah. I've included a link to a map for those like me who don't exactly know where Alberta is. http://www.worldatlas.com/webimage/countrys/namerica/province/abz.htm

Garmin-Sharp-Barracuda

Looks like Saxo isn't the only team to get a new sponsor just in time for the Tour. Sharp will now be the official co sponsor of the "Garmen". More money for cycling! YAY!

Current local time in Belgium etc..

Nifty world time converter I stumbled upon. Pick the country you want on the right side then you have the current time in that country. Next use the link below the Globe that says "convert a specific time..." and pick a date if you desire and then pick your location and you'll get two times. You might want to bookmark the page. Also, can we get Chris to authorize the "Free analog web clock for Belgium"? for the PdC page to let people figure out for themselves what time it is where they would rather be. :D

Vive le tour! from Bear Thunder on Vimeo.

I saw this video posted at Competitive Cyclist and thought that as long as things were a little slow it might be a good time to post it here. "Vive le tour". Filmed at the 1962 Tour de France. It's 19 minutes long but every minute is well worth it.
