In his first foray into Mixed Martial Arts, Jose Canseco was pummeled by a 7-2, 330-pound grand champion of sumo, Hong Man Choi of South Korea, during a MMA show earlier Tuesday at Yokohama Arena in Japan.

The admitted steroid user and whistle-blower entered the ring hauling a baseball bat over his right shoulder and was accompanied by his girlfriend and publicist, Heidi Northcott, who tossed baseballs into the crowd as they slowly descended a ramp toward the ring. Canseco, 44, would have been wise to use the club against his opponent.

I DVR'd the fight and it was funny.. Canseco actually started out not too bad with a punch landed.. then later kicked the giant and hurt his knee and eventually wound up on the ground where he quickly went into the fetal position

A source close to the Jake Peavy camp said today that the ace pitcher has notified the San Diego Padres that he will not accept the trade to the South Side, apparently killing the deal that would have sent four players west and put Peavy in black and white.

There is no indication of the Padres have notified the Sox yet, but the Padres have been informed.

Wooooooooooo!!!

Paul Splittorff To Take Time off

Anyone who watched the Royals broadcast knows that Paul Splittorff did not sound normal yesterday and it brought up a lot of questions that maybe he had a stroke.. On the broadcast Ryan Lefebvre said that Splitt had been recovering from a terrible illness/virus he had in the offseason... Still Spittorff said yesterday to Kevin Kietzman that he did not have a stroke..

Still Spittorff gave it a try and later determined that he isn't ready and is going to take time off.. I really commend him for giving it a go and see how it works out..

"It was obvious to anybody that heard the telecast that he's suffering from an illness and complications with his voice," said Mike Swanson, Royals vice president, communications and broadcasting. "Splitt wanted to open the season and it didn't go as well as it was hoped."

Frank White is now going to take over until further notice...

"We're fortunate to be able to have Frank White to pinch-hit for him, one Royals Hall of Famer for another," Swanson said.

This is very sad news as most of us have grown to love hearing Splittorffs telecasts and I certainly wish him the best and hope he can better enough to come back in the booth.. Get well Splitt.

DAMNIT.

FRISCO, Texas -- Backup shortstop Tony Pena Jr. has made the roster, and the 11-man pitching staff has been virtually set, manager Trey Hillman said before Friday night's exhibition game against Texas.

"Bennett or Acosta and Prado for Gordon !!!"

Oh my god.. my friend who is a braves fan and also a royals fan went ahead and informed me of this post on talking chop...

Please feel free to to click the link but beware viewer discretion is advised.. the offer could make you sick..

To acquire him we would have to part with some pitching, such as Campillo, Bennett, or Acosta ?? I would part with maybe Bennett or Acosta and perhaps a Morton or Reyes and if they want a middle infield replacement we could throw in an Prado.

My offer: Bennett or Acosta and Prado for Gordon !!!

also when other braves fans laughed at him for this offer he simply replied

Absurd be happy if they took the offer then your missing my point they always take our trash, obviously you guys aren’t getting it. They are so dumb they would do it I am telling you.

Ricky Nalasco pitched 7 scorless with 8 strikeouts then in the 9th.. Leo Nunez closed out the game..

How weird this comes on a day where the royals and angels combine for 15 HRs... By the way the MLB record for most homers in a regular season game is 12.. obviously they dont keep records for spring training.
