Johsnon would seem like a Slam Dunk:  Star power, gritty veteran, innings eater, pitchers park, and a guy who can win some darn games!  Who would have thunk in September the A's might have the Holliday and the Unit!!  Unit vs. Lincecum, Unit vs Lackey, etc....great stuff.  He would take a unit size load off the young staff.  Is there anyone who would not be excited to go to the park when the Big Guy was pitching?

Remember that June a couple of years back when the Old Barry and the Healthy Harden I believe had to back-back no-no's into the 7th inning (or close).  There would be a buzz in the park--the last real buzz came in the Scutaro vs. Twins playoff game.  Wouldn't that be just delightful?!?

Furcal and the A's seemed to be a good old fashion impasse...Furcal not going to get both dollars and years;  A's not going to give both, probably....so how about, more money less years?  10-13 million for one year, 20-25 for two?  Each side would seem to get what they want in the short term.
