Not much to say other than the fact that I, along with probably a millions others, claim to be the biggest bears fan out there! I lived in illinois for 19 years, and my family still resides there. I have moved to north carolina due to the military but I will never forget where I come from.

Phil's the man! And yes, he does have a plan
My wife told me I had the strangest looks on my face when the draft was finished. She told me that after every Bears selection, I would cringe slash smile all at the same time. Im guessing she was spot on considering that every pick the Bears made were a huge surprise to me. And even to this day I am still feeling a bit odd if you know what I mean. But given some time to settle and investigate our selections, I feel really good about who the Bears added in this years draft.
Must be considered theft! Late round steals.
So all of us hardcore Bears fans have probably wasted at least a few hours or so throughout the week looking for hidden prospects in the upcoming draft.
Well maybe not you guys, but I know I have
No Williams? No Free Agent DE? Insert Draft Pick Here_________
It seems Mario Williams is looking to sign with someone other than the Bears. And unless Wimbley comes to Chicago, it shouldn't be a huge market for Free Agent DE's. With that said, Who would you like to see drafted at DE and at what pick.
A different type of bandwagon
New scenarios await us?
Robert Meachem...Disliked by most, fine by me.
Unlikely doesnt seem so unlikely anymore.
Packers sign Finley to 2 year deal!
Per Adam Schefter, The Packers signed Finley to a 2 year deal.
Sleeper pick 1.0
In every draft you always have a group of players who somehow get looked over as high round talent. There always seems to be a few players in every round that come out and fight for a starting job right away. My idea with this post is to bring some attention to a few potential players who might get the nod from day one.
Senior Bowl Recap
For those who didnt get to watch the Senior Bowl or didnt care to. Here is a recap of who's stock went up and whose went down.
Tyga gives shout out to Matt Forte in Drake's song "The Motto"
Go to 3:17 seconds to hear it. Nice to see Forte gettin a little love.
Mario Manningham could be a possible Bears #2 WR
After watching the last couple of playoff games involving the Giants, I noticed that one of this years free agents, Mario Manningham, has been playing extremely well. Obviously he might not be the number 1 go to receiver that we all want but he would be a definite upgrade to our group of WR's. After the jump check out his playoff stats so far, and recap his season numbers.

East West Shrine game thread anyone?
This years East West Shrine game looks pretty interesting with 2nd day prospects. I will be watching with hopes that a couple of players will be on the Bears radar come draft day. There seems to be a consensus which players are getting the most attention right now and should probably make for a good game today. From what Ive read, the top players are Josh Norman, Tyler Shoemaker, AJ Jenkins, Davin Meggett, Lance Lewis, and Tauren Poole and so on.
Conte selected to PFW's All Rookie Team
2012 Receiver class, crunching the numbers.
With so much talk about the Bears needs as far as receiver goes, I decided to take a look at a few of the reciever prospects who will be in this years draft. I looked at all of their 2011 game stats and crunched some numbers to come up with a better way to evaluate them.
Brian Quick should not be passed over.
I've mentioned Brian Quick's name here before and most fans seemed to have shot him down saying he's too slow, or he played at App State so he's not good enough. Today, I beg to differ. Ive watched a lot of game footage over the last 3-4 days on Quick and he seems to be an impact player who could possibly make a huge difference at Receiver on someones team. 6'4 216 pounds and he runs around 4.5/4.6 40 yard dash. Not the fastes 40 times but from what Ive watched, he's got pretty solid game speed and he can catch the ball! (something that our receivers cant seem to come to terms with)
I know we have other needs but cmon man!
I think we all understand the fact that the Bears have a lot of needs. LB,DB,WR,OL and so on. But lets be realistic in the fact that the Bears need an offensive playmaker. Sure we can go out and get Jackson,Bowe, or Colston. All though I am completely on board with any one of those guys, I just can't see passing up the oppurtunity to draft a receiver like Blackmon.
"Wright" way to go!
Some cheaper and proven offseason additions.
If you take a look at next years Free Agent class its not looking too bad. But we as fans have to be realistic in the fact that if Mr. Angelo and Company are still around, there shouldn't be a huge splash in Free Agency. But I did a little searching and wondering how we could afford to get one big name free agent, and a few other starters for a cheaper price.
Hope you can welcome a new fan!
So let me start out by saying that this is really hard for me. I am a hard core Bears fan and always will be until my last breath. But on the contrary I recently realized that I had a dilemma on my hand.

Where to begin? Next year that is.
Thats the magic question. Where do we begin this offseason? Ive been sitting here throwing out all sorts of logical answers but eventually they dont seem so logical anymore considering the people we have running this team.
What would it take?
In response to the link that Erik posted, What exactly would it take to trade up to get Blackmon. Some of you may not like him some of us do, Myself included. You cant deny that the guy has tremendous talent and size, one of the best recievers to come out of college in a while.
Streeter anyone?
I just saw the other day the Tommy Streeter declared for the 2012 Draft. I just so happened to watch a lot of Hurricane games this year due to the fact that I live in Florida and I can tell you that this guy has talent.
The not so obvious... Underrated prospects #1
Amongst all the craziness of the Cutler injury and Hanie debacle I figured I would start my own new segment of The not so obvious, underrated prospects of next years draft. While Im still hoping like the rest of us that we can save our wild card spot, I am also looking forward to next years draft and offseason. I think the Bears have stepped it up this year in maximizing the talent they have on the team. With that said, there are plenty of positions that are in or becoming a transition phase. (Major Wright, Chris Conte at Safety) It starting to become clear that we are in desperate need of younger talent on the defensive side of the ball. This week I am starting at Linebacker. Urlacher and Briggs are still playing all out great football. There is no arguing that. Roach is starting to come around and each week seems to be making more plays. But depth and age are going to eventually hurt us if we dont address this next year. So without further adieu.
This weeks Underrated prospect is - Danny Trevathan (LB-Kentucky) 6'2 232lbs
Trevathan's ability pretty much speaks for itself. Just watch his highlights and you will see for yourself. Trevathan has exactly what the Bears like and need at the LB position. He is a sure tackler who creates tons of turnovers and always finds a way to the ball. His biggest upside seems to be his ability to shred and weave his way around blockers to get to the ball. There is no doubt in my mind that he is one of the most underrated LB's coming out of next years draft and should be a steal somewhere in the late 2nd to late 3rd round. I expect Trevathan to be on the Bears draft board come this offseason.

Earl 'The Pearl"
Did anyone else watch that game last night!
Two things to say here. First-Florida State whooped up on BC. Second- Luke Kuechly is an absolute animal!
Derek Hagan released by Raiders to make room for Housh!
To make room for Housh, Oakland released Derek Hagan who at the beginning of the season was pretty productive. He is has good size and pretty good hands at 6"2 and runs pretty solid routes.
Hot Seat or No Seat
My question is simple. If Lovie is put on the hot seat and eventually gets the boot, Who in the right mind will come into Chicago and take over the job of refurbishing this team. I surely know that I have a wish list of Head coaches or prior Head coaches that I would like to see, but who would you like?
Replacing a legend, a fans take.
Watching Urlacher this season is a lot of fun. Who would have thought he could play like this at his age. I have never doubted the man, but not every linebacker is Ray Lewis and can play until their late 30's pushing 40. But I hope that, as fans we realize that #54 probably doesnt have more than 2 years left at best.
