Trade for Turiaf?

GSW fan here. Would the Houston fans like a true center this year? How about Turiaf and Maggette for Battier, Landrey and Hayes?

Turiaf has the beef to stand with almost any NBA center (OK, not Yao or Howard), he blocks well and has a nice mid-range jumper. Maggette is unstoppable going to the hole. Shoots free throws all day long. Golden State loves Turiaf but he is behind Biedrins in the rotation and is (somewhat) expendable. Maggette doesn't fit as well in a Nelson-type run and gun offense as he does in a half court offense. He is very strong. Both players are very likeable.

Golden State could use better perimeter defense. I think Battier could give that to us. Randolph is penciled in to start at PF but he is a thin 20 year-old who would benefit from some veteran back-up.

So, we've already renewed our tix. We mailed in the check the day before the due date; a time when the Ws were solidly in the running for a playoff berth. Renewing then allowed for a small discount and rights to playoff tickets. When the playoffs didn't materialize, we were forgiving. You gave it a decent shot. I suppose the exception might have been used earlier in the year to bolster our chances but saving it for after the season seemed reasonable.

There has been a lot of water under the bridge between then and now. The 08-09 season hasn't started yet , so I apologize in advance if the team looks much different when it does. But I think there will be some grumbling, and possibly a little booing this fall, if the Ws put an inferior team on the floor.

From a fan's perspective, I want only for the Ws to shoot for the moon. That might mean tanking for a season. That might mean saving cap room for the stellar FA class of a year from now. As a loyal fan, I'm OK with that. But as a season ticket holder who is watching the market value of his tickets drop like a shot-put off the Bay Bridge mid-span, I am worried.

If you do choose (perhaps wisely) to not spend the money on a star this year, would you consider a 10% refund to all season ticket holders? Give it a thought. Thanks.
