Amazin' Avenue Darin Gorski

I always like to come to the source, on acquiring info on prospects and this seems to be the place to get the info I am looking for. Looks like you Mets fans have a nice southpaw in St. Lucie named Darin Gorski. I wonder if I can impose on you guys and get any specifics you might have on what he brings to the table. Does he have the kind of quality pitches that his numbers are representing or is just a case of a finess lefty out classing younger hitters? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Fake Teams looking to join a new "MONEY" dynasty

Hope to find a "new" league, to be a contributor to. Anywhere from 1-100 dollars. Not looking for a keeper league but a dynasty league with full minors.

Has anyone heard whether BDD is going to continue the prospect ranking compilation this off season. I sure hope so, talk about a valuable tool.I know they had to downsize their staff in 2010, hope that won't effect it.

Minor League Ball Dynasty League Opening

  Unfortunately one of owners had a terrible tragedy in the family. He and his wife have decided that they need to eliminate all unnecessary outside influences for now and concentrate on the healing process together. So regrettably but quite understandable he needs to bow out.

  The league is a pay league but all costs are covered by myself and the other commissioner. We have only been up and running for the 2010 season, but enjoyed an satisfying experience both in the level of competition and participation.

  It's a CBS scoring format with points awarded/deducted for all major statistical categories. The rosters are 25 major and 25 minor. It is a total keeper with no salary cap and complete roster control.

  If any of you guys are interested we just concluded our season and are just about to embark on the off season.

Just trying to get one up. I bet a lot of good pitchers go today, but I am too lazy to find them. Like the title says it's all about Ackley.

Minor League Ball Rushed, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing!

Rushed, hurried, young for his level. Words and phrases we see countless time around this site. This is one of the topics that I would like to see an in-depth discussion about. It seems as though the timetable for a prospect's promotion is a key focal point of interest among us. So I would like to get some input on what each of you use personally to come to the conclusion that a prospect is being rushed. And also over the the past season which prospect do you think was rushed and the result was a catastrophe, and on the reverse side what prospect do you see as being rushed but responded no matter the undue pressure applied to the young man.

Minor League Ball Medlen: A case of total disregard to a young pitchers health

I might be alone, but I can't help but to think that Medlen has been totally abused by the Atlanta Braves this season. The kid has done a stellar job in the first 170 innings of his MLB career and all he got in recognition is to get absolutely mishandled, for the greater glory of the Bobby Cox fair well tour. The way they have jerked this guy from pen to rotation and back and forth multiple times is criminal. I know he isn't held in as high esteem as Tommy Hanson, but he did a wonderful job of holding his own and to show their appreciation the Braves made it a habit to jerk this kid around. Was there going to be any other result then a major injury. Maybe my reaction is wrong, I'm no pitching coach. But it's the way I feel, how bout you.

Minor League Ball Looking for a little insight: Matt Weiters

I'm a huge Orioles fan, I live in Ohio and am raising three children so purchasing the MLB package just isn't a prudent decision and with the Orioles no where near to sniffing any of the games of the week the only games I get to view are versus the Tribe. In most cases it's not a big deal, I grew up an out of market fan following my O's strictly through the box scores a skill I was taught by my granny. Who is an O's maniac, at the age of 83 her and my grandfather drove from Orlando to B-more{her home town} to catch the O's home opener this year. Well with all that rambling out of the way. I wanted to ask the other O's fans or anybody with insight what is going on with weiters.I'm still a big believer in Orange Jesus, but this season just doesn't seem to have any bright spots for the youngster. Should he be optioned or just continue status quo.

Minor League Ball Oriole's Player Development, just not impressive

I'm no expert and don't pretend to be. But I see a continuing trend within the Orioles organization over the past 15 years, a majority of their highly touted talent becomes less refined and actually tend to get worse the longer they stay within this organization. Is there a philosophical flaw that isn't being addressed and repeated with the Oriole's prospects. It just seems that the Oriole's prospects get fundamentally worse the longer they stay within this system. From low A to the major leagues the list of players that have back slid is astounding. Am I the only one that has recognized this trend and if so give me hope, tell me I'm wrong. This organization has sold it's fan base hope on the premise of "building from it's youth" but do they have the right personnel in place to accomplish the task.

Minor League Ball Dynasty Trade. Stanton/Strasburg

I hate to clutter the board with a fantasy question that doesn't gave any relevance or value to anyone but myself, but I don't have anywhere else to turn. It's a no salary complete keeper Dynasty League. The scoring is based on a point system so everything relevant counts, example a pitchers win gets you 10 points a lose -5, batter single 1 point strikeout -.5. Quality arms are a premium, cause running out a iffy pitcher can have you looking like willy coyote with an Acme bomb. It's 16 teams and every owner is crafty so making up for a mistake isn't easily overcome. The offer on the table is Mike Stanton and Tyler Matzek to me for Strasburg and Sano of the Twins. I am all about the long drawn out, building from the minors approach as you can tell by my youth. I am not a 2010 or probably even a 2011 contender. But 2012 and beyond I'm in the mix for 5 years. My infield is young and has time to come together. Weiters/Smoak/Ackley/Andrus/Freese with a lot of other young developing depth.{Ryan Wheeler,Eric Young,Logan Forsythe,Matt Davidson,Bill Rowell,Wilmer Flores,Wil Meyers}

My Outfield is in need of help currently I have

Rasmus       Jaff Decker

Boesch         Borbon

Dom Brown    Mike Brantley

Gutierrez

My Pitchers of note

Matusz and Tillman

Brett Anderson and Cahill

Bud Norris,Kris Medlen,Porcello,Jordan Zimmerman,Jarrod Parker, Jordan Lyles, Liam Hendriks, Martin Perez,   Mat Maloney, Shelby Miller, Matt Hobgood, Justin Turner

Minor League Ball Jaff Decker

Coming into the season, I found Jaff as one of the most interesting prospects in the game. Coming out of spring I heard talk that he was going to participate in extended, then a friend said he was injured. I haven;t seen any news on him does anyone know the going ons with Mr.Decker. Sure would like to see if he can build upon that impressive 2009. And just to add a little random question, what is everyone's general fealings about the Padre's farm system I think they have done an admirable job over the past couple of years in developing a nice collection of talent.

Alex Rodriguez, NYY 2008-17 $275 million

Derek Jeter, NYY 2001-10 $189 million

Joe Mauer, Min 2011-18 $184 million

Mark Teixeira, NYY 2009-16 $180 million

CC Sabathia, NYY 2009-15 $161 million

Miguel Cabrera, Det 2008-15 $152.3 million

Fake Teams Will I compete

Took over a new yeam in a keeper league this year. Previous owner sold his possible keepers for quantity to make a run, made the playoffs but didn't make it to the top of the mountain and bailed. So I had no keepers worth having. I got the four extra picks for not keeping any players. Do you think I'll be able to compete or will I be packaging for keepers before the trade deadline and building for 2011. It's a 12 team H2H typical 5x5 +OBP and WHIP.

Minor League Ball Need some help on foreign born players

In my dynasty we add all foreign born free agents that were signed in the past 12 months to the free agent pool. I am building a nice squad from the ground up. Last year was our first year and I took advantage of everyone wanting to be champion #1 and traded mid level MLB'ers for top tier minor league talent.That along with gathering 7 of the first 22 minor league picks. The prospects  contracts are very reasonable for the first three years before they become restricted FA's then even pretty economical at that point . That being said I have the most money to work with in the FA market by far and believe that the best route to take that will fit with what I've done so far is the foreign players. I know Chapman,Sano,Profar and Salcedo are their any other recently signed foreign players I need to focus on. Chapman is all but mine and a good chance Sano too, one more would make an extremely productive haul but I might need to look past Profar and Salcedo.

Fake Teams Dynasty League opening

An opening has come open in a Dynasty. It offers a 25mlb 25milb roster, it is a first year team. Unfortunatly the draft has already occured. But one owner had to drop out for real life issues. The MLB team is solid enough, middle of the pack. It's a 16 team league with very comp. owners so there is no overly strong team. CBS point system, it's a pay league but all fees are taken care of this year and all years to follow

Minor League Ball Does this qualify as a breakout

Alejandro Sanbia is putting up some pretty impressive #'s in High A FSL. Just curious has anyone seen him in action and can go beyond the stats and offer a little scouting. I'm not surprised to see another Florida Marlins Power Forward emerging.

Minor League Ball Looking for that deep sleeper

In a leaque that is very up to date on the farms, I have been searching the minors for that deep deep sleeper pitching prospect. Brought up Hernandez and Weiters and have two spots available. To give you an ideal of where in the pecking order I have to chose from Wily Peralta was my last pick up. I am really looking for arms as I cleaned house in the last draft as far as batters are concerned.

Wow, jaw dropping #'s, didn't hurt that he pitched a perfect game. Looks like this kid surely needs to be on everyone's radar. Having outings like this at 21 AA in an organization starved for starting pitching seems to be a recipe for the fast track. Besides Huff and Rondon who could be concidered a better arm in Cleveland's system then this kid. Go O's Go O's Go O's Go O's Go O's

Minor League Ball 16 Team Dynasty: Ian Kennedy just placed on waivers

I posted my roster here about a month ago, still deep in pitching prospects, but can trade one for good value. Is Ian Kennedy worth picking up and riding out.{still within innings pictched to stay on minor league roster}, He's he just being rushed because his 226 innings in the minors are very solid. And has there been any rumblings about moving him. Just an Orioles fan looking for advice on Yankees is life wonderful.

This is my first attempt at a dynasty league, took over a team last year, worked all year on the waiver wire,draft, and trades to assemble a team I like. I know I'm not a bully heading into this year but, does it look like a solid foundation for a good run. 16 team league 5x5 no salaries.

Minor League Ball Overloaded at first need a little help

Somehow my first base position is log jammed after my amateur draft. Very happy to have all of these kids but need to aquire a couple of arms that will be making it to the big show between 2010-2011, looking to keep three 1 starter, 1 reserve, and one on the way.   Here they are who would you move and who would you keep for now  and the near future:

Conor Jackson{I love him, heard him compared to Mark Grace}

Deric Barton{reserve, if he doesn't lose too many at bats}

Gaby Sanchez{can he stick at first< with that monster behind him}

Freddie Freeman{partial to this solid youngster}

Yonder Alonso{hearing alot of good things about him}
