I grew up bleeding orange in Liverpool NY. Now I'm a soon be to Senior in the class of 2011 at Syracuse. Perhaps the ORANGE does not fall far from the tree after-all.

Any D.C. bars showing the Georgetown game?
Hey cuse fans,
I'm going to be traveling down to D.C. from Syracuse this weekend to catch the game. As you know getting a ticket to the game isn't exactly easy thanks to those damn Hoyas, and I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to get a ticket from some of my buddies to get in the Verizon Center.
Are there any good Syracuse bars in D.C. that will be showing the game on Saturday? Perhaps a little TNIAAM get together?
Battle of the Blogless in the Big East tonight
Orangemen, Orangewomen, orange pets, and all other orange-affiliated peoples of the Otto-man Empire:
Tonight at 9pm the blogless SB nation teams Depaul and Providence go head to head in sadly the only Big East game of the night. I know these last few weeks have been frustrating for Syracuse fans, but it shouldn't take an epic Jim Boeheim press conference rant to get us to "put things in perspective". Although 21-6 (8-6) isn't exactly where we want to be there's still 4 games left, followed by the BET. I'm confident Jimmy B and the boys will get everything in gear by the time everything matters in March. (we do have some "Un-Finished Business" to take care of after all)
Look at it this way; we could be Depaul or Providence. Both teams have been dwelling in the basement for the past fear years and won't likely be in contention for conference titles anytime soon. Hell even their own fans don't want to be them, as evidenced by the lack of SB Nation blogs. Perhaps Friar and Blue Demon fans are just "closet fans" and don't want to publicly show their support for fear of embarrassment.
Even when times are rough the dome always has thousands of fans cheering the orange on.
Sure USF and Rutgers aren't exactly tearing it up on the hardwood either, but atleast their fans can look forward to football season. (ok maybe not Rutgers fans but you get the point)
Even during the worst basketball season Syracuse fans can still look forward to another Lacrosse National Championship, and now thanks to HCDM we can look forward to a rising football program too. (insert man-crush here)
So remember Syracuse fans, even during our darkest hour when things look bleak just be thankful we aren't Providence or Depaul.
Halloween Costume Contest Entry
Here is my entry for the Syracuse Fan Halloween Costume Contest. For my senior year I decided to roam around Euclid Avenue as none other than the great baloney loving hero of Syracuse; Doug Marrone. Sadly I didn’t have any bologna over Halloween weekend. Hopefully you can forgive me.
The costume consists of:
- Nike Syracuse Orange Coaches Sideline Performance Polo
- Nike Syracuse Orange Visor
- Khaki Pants
- Coaching Headset
- Binder detailing "The Plan"
The inside of the binder was full of Madden 11 printouts from the New Orleans Saints playbook, which I conveniently crossed out with "Syracuse" instead. Sadly the photos of the inside had too much glare so I didn’t post them.
