How would you feel if....
The Bills play hardball with Fred Jackson this year and don't do deal before next season starts
2010 Pass Blocking Efficiency: Tackles
This may help us sort out which RT left out there can help as it rates their pass block ability versus others in the league
Note Mansfield Wrotto is a middle of the pack rating
Weird that D Bell does not appear in LT ratings. He may be #16 or 17 then as this lists 15 best and 15 worst.
As requested, another 7 rd mock draft
Had some time this eveing so doing a complete 7 rd draft. After 8 games given up 200 yds on the ground I am taking D early.

Tim Graham on Andre Reed's chances for Canton
Gotta believe he will get in soon. Best Bills receiver ever in my book.
And now for something completely different - A Bills Mock Draft with no QB selected
I am a proponent of shipping Donte Whitner off to the Redskins for Jason Campbell straight up. Then we throw Campbell into the mix with our 3 QBs on hand.
I also think it will not be possible for the Bills to trade down in this draft. So we roll the dice that we hold now, 9 picks in 7 rounds. Below is the mock I hope plays out next weekend.
Can we get some real D Linemen please?
While OBD works on getting Jimmy Kennedy on board, I have real concerns about our ability to man the 5 technique and OLB roles.
Schobel, Bills face roster bonus deadline
IMHO this does not bode well for him staying. Not to mention asking a 32 year old to play a new position.
Would OBD be better off drating a 3-4 hybrid DE/LB? Or signing a FA ala Travis Laboy for less $$?
Not a given that Schobel can make transition.
Phillips can thank Gailey for Jerry's patience
Matt Mosley at ESPN trashes new Bills Coach Chan Gailey, erroneously clainiming he clashed with Tony Romo - hey why not TO too?
Typical National Media piling on scenario.
btw when compared to Gailey, of Cowher, Reid, Shanahan, Wade Phillips and Holmgren only Cowher had better record and made playoffs his first 2 years in the league!
Modrak to blame for why our team missed playoffs the last 10 years?
Tra Thomas Available?
Seems to be odd man out in JAx and could help this year at Rt or LT if Bell is out
Another thing in our favor
With Bell out, Pierre Thomas hampered by a sore knee and 1 of their top 3 WRs out, all we need now is some bad weather at the Ralph.
This is shaping up to be a closer game than most would imagine.
Bills sign rookie LB Freeman to practice squad
The Buffalo Bills have signed rookie LB Marcus Freeman - a 2009 Draft pick by Chicago - and released Alvin Bowen.
Bills 3-0 versus Gregg Williams defenses since 2000!
Yes, we lost the "Homerun Throwback" game in playoffs after 1999 season (why couldn't Kevin Dyson drop lateral like Youboty?), but we beat them 16-13 to open the 2000 season.
Options to replace Poz for next 6 weeks
Per report http://www.buffalosportsdaily.com/2009/09/source-poz-will-be-out-4-6-weeks at Buffalo Sports Daily, Bills might resign Pat Thomas as depth and start Nic Harris outside with either Kawika or Ellison moving to the middle. Thus Nic Harris starts over Marcus Buggs, with one of the current starters moving inside.
Might I suggest another option:
Bell Evoloving into Bills Left Tackle of Choice
Direct quote from Tim Graham's latest blog post:
"Sources close to the team tell me there's a growing belief among some coaches on Dick Jauron's staff that Demetrius Bell should be the left tackle when the regular season opens Sept. 14 against the New England Patriots."
Stranger things have happened
NBC Sports writer speculates on top landing spots for Vick. At the top of his list, Buffalo.
Per pat Kirwan of Sirius NFLRadio, prior to this weekend only one team had called Tony Dungy for his take on risk involved
Another LB to look into?
Broncos have cut Boss Bailey per PFT. recovering from microfracture knee surgery and not able to particiapte in any OTAs or minicamps in Denver.
Hill Resigning with Seahawks?
per Jim Mora Jr interview, looks like Leroy is not spreading his wings
Trade Peters to GB for Kampman and swap of #1's
Looking more and more like OBD and the Peters camp are out of synch. Kampman doesn't fit 3-4 DE profile so why not...
The Detroit Lions were offered a big name ProBowl player for the #20 pick but turned down the deal based on the fact that the Player would want a new long term deal at the top 3 at his position. The Lions prefer the salary manageability pick #20 affords them
Sirius NFL Radio, Peter King this morning.
Could this have been an OBD deal for Jason Peters?
Sources: Peterson declines pay cut
Could this be another Bills potential FA target if released by Seahawks:
My 5 reasons:
1. Played in all 16 games last 3 years
2. Made Pro Bowl each year
3. Size, 6'3" 240 lbs WLB with exceptional speed
4. Averaged 8 sacks, 3 FF and 1 INT last 3 years
5. Has played versus Passing offenses his whole career
My bet is if cut, Rams snatch him up ASAP
Niners weren't banking on Johnson
Panda watch over
off to Detroit for 3 yrs $9mm
Bills preparing to sign RFA Owen Daniels to Offer Sheet?
Per East Coast Sports News...
"Combine Buzz...The latest buzz circulating around the Combine is the Buffalo Bills covet Houston Texans tight end Owen Daniels....the Bills are expected to make a strong play for his services in the upcoming free-agency period."
What about these WRs as potential signees
There will be some bloodletting by teams so some guys will become available.
Carr reups with Giants
And Luke McCown also resigned - both per PFT
PFT says Torry Holt might be cut in St Louis
How would he look opposite #83?
Under the Radar TE Prospects
With Gresham staying at Oklahoma and Ingram and Beckum coming off injuries, the Bills might want to take a look at some lesser known, but very athletic TE prospects.
The Real Issue for DJ to deal with
The Bills were only 1 of 4 teams without a win versus a quality opponent in 2008. The others - Detroit, KC, Cincinatti. See attached website: http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Article.php?Page=987&Category=2

Mangini Out in NYC!
If he is available, why not see if he will shuffle off to Buffalo!
2009 Buffalo Bills Defensive Backfield
With this year winding down and Greer and Youboty out for duration, we have had a chance to see Leodis and Reggie Corner play quite a bit.
And we have seen OBD change philosphy at the FS/SS with Whitner/Scott playing over Simpson and Whitner at FS/SS.
So let's all peek into our Crystal Ball and see what Opening Day 2009 brings!
