With Bell out, Pierre Thomas hampered by a sore knee and 1 of their top 3 WRs out, all we need now is some bad weather at the Ralph.

This is shaping up to be a closer game than most would imagine.

The Buffalo Bills have signed rookie LB Marcus Freeman - a 2009 Draft pick by Chicago - and released Alvin Bowen.

Bills 3-0 versus Gregg Williams defenses since 2000!

Yes, we lost the "Homerun Throwback" game in playoffs after 1999 season (why couldn't Kevin Dyson drop lateral like Youboty?), but we beat them 16-13 to open the 2000 season.

In 2007, a late Trent Edwards to Josh Reed hookup gave us a last minute FG - btw thanks Joe Gibbs for calling successive time outs.

And last year the Bills went down to Jacksonville where the Trent Edwards to James Hardy TD was the difference.

So if Joe Pendry, Steve Fairchild and Turk Schonert could figure out Gregg Williams schemes, I am sure AVP can as well! It would seem the real test will be Perry Fewell's D versus the Sean Payton designed offense of the Saints.

Per report http://www.buffalosportsdaily.com/2009/09/source-poz-will-be-out-4-6-weeks at Buffalo Sports Daily, Bills might resign Pat Thomas as depth and start Nic Harris outside with either Kawika or Ellison moving to the middle. Thus Nic Harris starts over Marcus Buggs, with one of the current starters moving inside.

Might I suggest another option:

Per PFT report http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/09/15/derrick-johnson-quietly-demoted/ Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson is now the odd man out on the inside LB position in their new 3-4. A very talented OLB in the Chiefs old 4-3 and a FA at the end of the year, Johnson will likely be playing OLB in a 4-3 somewhere else next year.

Why not trade Roscoe Parrish (or Josh Reed) to KC for Johnson as both these WR's will likely not be Bills next year? We can play Kawika inside for now with Ellison and Johnson outside, then insert Poz upon his return and insert Derrick Johnson over Ellison at SLB.

That's my idea to weather the storm and emerge with a better LB corps in the long run.

Looking more and more like OBD and the Peters camp are out of synch. Kampman doesn't fit 3-4 DE profile so why not...

Trade Peters to GB for Kampman (pro bowler for pro bowler) and swap of #1's - given age difference - and then parlay their #9 into 2 high picks

We wind up with #9 and shop it to Detroit - assuming here they took Jason Smith OT - at #1. Detroit uses #9 on their QB of the future and gives us #20 and #33. We would also have to give up our 4th to make it work.

We come away with #'s 20, 33, 42 and 75 to address our needs

20 - Pettigrew TE

33- Britton/Beatty OT

42- Sintim OLB

75 - Robinson/Luigs/Urbik OG

I believe Kampman is a LDE too so it really makes sense! Aaaron to the 2nd power!
