Lynch Timeline

After their successful stifling of the Young Republican Quad Party Riot to be at Canisius College last month, Buffalo Police Investigators have determined the following:

1. Marshawn was not at Spot Coffee

2. The House o' Quinn was poppin!

3. Channel 2 broke the story because they thought that the Porsche Cayenne was headed towards Channel 7 where they feared Marshawn was going to make an on camera revelation.

4. The Late Night Shoe Shine business is the only growth industry in Buffalo (remember when getting a shine on Chippewa meant something else?)

5. They will chalk it up to yet another example of an out of towner in a hurry to get out of Buffalo.

Seriously, glad the girl was not seriously hurt.

Youboty to Browns?

Anyone in favor of cutting our losses and getting something for him now while we can? Would hate to see us be forced to cut him in camp and get nothing in return.

IMHO the top 5 CBs will sort out as such:

McGee

McKelvin

James

Greer

Corner

Top 3 guys can play outside and Greer/Corner play the slot. McKelvin and McGee can play either.

With Browns losing starting CB for the year, do we ship Youboty back to Ohio and get a 5th or 6th for him?

What does this say about our Scouting Department?

It just occurred to me after reviewing our 10 picks that only 1 is from what any of us might call a NCAA College Football Factory - and that would be Chris Ellis DE from VT in the 3rd.

Forgetting the players we drafted and the postions they play, if I gave you a GPS or access to Mapquest, who could even find these schools, let alone find an NFL quality player there:

Troy, Akron, Iowa St, NW Missouri, Northwestern St.

Even our large school picks are from less than stellar D1 Football programs:

Indiana, Kansas, Pitt, Kentucky

Makes you wonder what our scouts were looking for - and IMHO the following epitomizes what that "it" is.

Prior to the draft there were some minor red flags on USC's TE Fred Davis for being "not too excited about playing football" and his "Hollywood Posse". He chose to be a Day 3 no show at Redskins Minicamp. Meanwhile Derek Fine was at OBD showing that, while he may not be great at any one thing, he is happy to simply have the chance to be a "football player". This "it" factor also showed through in our post Draft Rookie FA signings.

Kudos to OBD so far on finding guys that want to be here and truly appreciate the opportunity. Like the old saying states "Football doesn't build character, it reveals it".

What is legal status with Roscoe Parrish's DUI/DWI?

Is anyone up to date on if Roscoe has been convicted of DWI/DUI and if so - Is that not an automatic suspension? How long would the suspension be?

Have not seen any mention of a hearing, settlement or court date. Really disappointed he pulled a Bruce "asleep at the wheel" Smith act. Too bad at 168 lbs Roscoe can't claim obstructive sleep apnea like Bruce did. Good lawyer #78 had there!

The possibility of a suspension makes the McKelvin and - long term - the Steve Johnson picks that much bigger. Here's hoping Roscoe learned his lesson and take advantage of the league mandated counseling he will get.

Lots of discussion on the NYGs trading Shockey but I am looking at the Gang Green and wonder if they would look to trade Chris Baker with their signing of Bubba Franks and drafting of Dustin Keller.

Per the ranking system on ESPN he is a 73 whichputs him at # 11 in their view. By comparison, Robert Royal is a 63 and ranks 34th.

Baker is 6'3 255lbs and has had 31 rec 4 tds in 2006 and 41 rec 3 tds in 2007.

Thoughts?
