4 Jags Players in Top 3 in "Who's Hot" Fantasy Rankings!

I can honestly say that this has to be the first time I've ever seen more than 2 players making these honors in any single game. When I logged on to Yahoo Sports, there it was in living color... David Garrard listed as the Hottest Fantasy QB of this weeks games...followed by Mike Sims-Walker ranked #2 in the WR category. After searching even further I discovered that Marcedes Lewis ranked # 3 in TE, and Josh "Pigskin Bombardier" Scobee ranked first in the kickers slot. Holy CRAP...

I perused further into the depths of Yahoo Sports' depravity to discover this gem by MJD in the Shutdown Corner titled " Week 4 MVP's" :

"Mike Sims-Walker (notes), Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars. I'll admit to being shocked by yesterday's result in the Titans/Jags game. I thought the Titans had some fight in them, and I didn't think the Jags were capable of beating a team through the air like that. David Garrard (notes) threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns, and Sims-Walker was his favorite target. He caught seven balls for 92 yards and two touchdowns."

Now I don't know about you, but for me to see the Jags get that much respect is a welcome sight. Let me be the first to admit I've jumped on the "no respect" bandwagon ala the national sports media as it relates to the Jags, but I've always felt that the Jags have to earn that respect as well. It appears that the game against the Titans has opened a few eyes, namely because the Jags went about their business in a quiet, methodical and dominating manner.

They neither looked for, nor sought glory in this win. None of the post-game interviews had even an inkling of hype or self-promotion. It was all about the team and working together to improve and just get the job done.

Winning with humility...what a concept!

I believe that magic happened in this game, and it may only be Hogwart's level one type magic, but magic none the less. This is a beginning, a harbinger of doom for future opponents (for years to come) if you will. This is the "walk" part of the cliche that you "must learn to walk before you can run". Now we must change the paradigm to learn to "run before you can fly"

Sorry guys that this is WAY off topic, but there was a suggestion in another thread that Zoltans articles/posts should be edited by a more fluent speaker of english before he posts them on BCC.....this suggestion bothered me enough that I had to create a fan post to show Zoltan support from the BCC Brotherhood...

I VIOLENTLY DISAGREE with the suggestion of

editing Zoltans posts/articles. Zoltan provides an Intellectual and cultural perspective to this site that cannot be matched. In addition his English ability is exceptional for not living in the US…I have NO problem understanding the points he makes…ever.

Another way to look at this is…I remember when I was in grade school when the teacher had us write an essay on the telegraph..you know..the old Western Union way of sending messages with dots and dashes (morse code) to form words of a message. One thing that I have run across time and again in reference to the telegraph was that each operator had a distinctive "key" or style or even "flair" in how they "keyed" the dots and dashes. Many operators on the "receiving" end of the telegraph could identify what operator was sending the message because of his "key style", no matter where in the world it was arriving from. Because of this, telegraph operators were a closely knit brotherhood.

In World War II, Intelligence agencies were able to verify the authenticity of the report they were receiving from deep cover agents communicating via "wireless" because each agent had a distinctive "key style". That key style made them unique and recognizable, trusted and verified.

Zoltan’s english (or "key style") does the same for him on this site…to edit his english even in the slightest would absolutely destroy the exceptional flavor and flair that is the "essence" of Zoltan, and would be a disservice to him and this site.

Zoltan, you truly have no concept of what goes through each of our heads when we read what you write. You open up creative parts of our minds, because you are somewhere "foreign" to us, where lives, language,politics, food, women, sports,beer, culture, music are all on a very different level.

When we read your work, we in the back of our minds wonder about these things…we wonder what it would be like to go to Budapest to meet you, to see and experience the things that you do on a daily basis..things we cannot see or even imagine. We try to put pictures in our heads of what its like.

I personally imagine you poring over your articles in your native language and then painstakingly translating them to english,,,pouring your heart into every word…worrying..wondering if that word "is right"…and then I imagine you getting it done..satisfied with your effort. I imagine you sitting back in your chair…stress released from your face and having an ice cold "Budapesty" type of alcoholic beverage to celebrate your hard work. A smile on your face, feeling accomplished and proud.

Your writing and style as well as location creates these types of thoughts and images in ALL of us, though they Im sure differ amongst us in many ways.

Thank you for that…keep writing…and DONT EVER LET ANYONE EDIT YOU!

JAGS TRADE FOR QB LUKE MCCOWN

I just got a text from the JAGS mobile...saying the JAGS had picked up Luke McCown...anyone got any further info? This is a true shocker and Im wondering what the heck and how the heck this happened. Maybe this is the first anyone has heard of this but I sure would love further details if anyone has the scoop! Obviously this menas that Byron Lefty is gonna start for the BUCS.

Who thinks this is a smart move by the JAGS, and does this mean that Todd Bouman is done? ( GOD I hope so...lol)

Should be making a comeback on the stadium PA system ala Jimmy/Keenan…could we be seeing the rebirth of THUNDER and LIGHTNING right before our very eyes with Williams/Walker or maybe Dillard? GOD I HOPE SO! Whats your take on the probable long term combination that will return our receiving corps to its former glory? What combo would you like to see...Mike and Mike or Mike and Jarrett? Remember Mike Walker was brought in because he is a burner too!

"We absolutely love what the Jacksonville Jaguars did throughout the draft by rebuilding their offensive line. However, the guy who could have the biggest impact next season is WR Mike Thomas. He, like Deon Butler, has the makings of a big time slot receiver. Thomas knows how to beat press and can consistently gain initial separation underneath."

hey guys...normally Chris does a live game blog throughtout the season...I suspect he will be doing it again starting tonite

Im not sure if he is or what time he will get it up...but make sure you join us for one of the best features that Chris has put together.....live blogging of your Jags!

Chris and all partticipants offer great insite, analysis and play by play responses and it is always a lot of fun to finally get a chance to chat with each other...and kick off the new season!

Im not sure if the NFL has lost their mind, but for some reason they are giving away a limited number of NFL Field Pass memberships totally FREE.

I signed up and went through the process as if Id paid for it but it never asked for credit card or anything....it even created a reciept for $0.00......maybe everyone who is a "non-local" Jags fan should hit NFL.COM and take advantage of this.

I'm sure many of you read Vic's column, but for those who didn't Vic has AGAIN allowed another mention of BigCatCountry.com to appear in his column.

Talk about plum promotion! I think Vic actually likes the site and is willing to throw it a bone or two. This is begining to show the legitimacy and hard, honest work of the editor, and writers as well as the fans who make this site the exploding mecca of all things Jaguar!

Sure, we ended up "losing", but it was certainly an amusing process. There's not much for Jaguars fans to fight about during this very long dead zone, so I thank Raider Nation for providing us with such amusement. Also, thanks to all the readers of BCC who kept us up to date. I can tell you that I had nothing to do with any cheating, but not for lack of trying...
