And it's one of the worst places to be a Boston fan, believe it or not. You might disagree, but unless you have lived in San Diego, I don't want to hear it.
BP's 2009 PECOTA Projections
Yep. Baseball Prospectus has us in their early version accumulating 74 wins and scoring the fewest runs in the Majors. Of course, we all know how infallable these are (see: Anaheim Angels with 79 wins) with regards to injuries and rookies projected performances. Enjoy!

Padres agree to terms with Cliff Floyd
Rest assured, we have a DH for Interleague. 20089's Tony Clark.
A friend of mine was in a group in a Las Vegas bar on Sunday night that included Jake Peavy and the word is Peavy is fired up to join the Cubs.
He's so excited, I hear, that at one point he sang "Go Cubs Go" at the bar after a "Brooks and Dunn" concert he attended with Roy Oswalt.
Remember this? Now it poses a relevant question to me, "Sandy, why can't we look the other way?" Not-so-ironically entitled, "Evil..."

It's "jelousy" I tell you. Who knows? I just thought counterarguments on meaningless quarrels are like adding more used motor oil to the unicorn bonfire. Or something like that.
Against: Tony Gwynn, Brewers. The Hall of Famer couldn't win a ring with the Padres, so now he's trying to win one with the Brewers? Dude, hang it up, already, you're like 50 years old and morbidly obese.
Aug 11 SS Luis Rodriguez was 2-for-6 Sunday to improve to 12-for-39 in the 10 games since taking over for the injured Khalil Greene. The 12 hits equals Greene's total for the month of July (12-for-80). Rodriguez has had three multi-hit games in his first 10 starts. Greene didn't have a multi-hit game in July.

I recently heard about this on "Boers and Bernstein" (the only tolerable sports radio program) in the Windy City and am frankly jealous that I didn't think of it first. We could use some of these guys in the fight for the Strasburg. Note Max Venable Sr.
