Shaq announces his retirement.
Long time coming, but still sad for those of us who grew up watching him.
2011 NBA draft
Hey. So a few posts have popped up addressing moves to be made in the offseason. I wanted to get a thread going specifically addressing the draft. Here are a few guys I'd love to look at. I'd love to hear your thoughts about these guys, and bring up other guys you think are worthy as well. I wont claim to be an expert, but I will claim that my boss is sick today so I have very little else to do.

Facebook just told me I should "like" Jet Li because , and I quote, "Many who like Danilo Galinari like him".
Something worth considering...
Okay, a lot is going through my mind right now. If the Knicks ever had a chance at getting LeBron, I think it just increased. That's all I'll say on that subject.
I think it's important for Donnie to go after Tyson Chandler. Call me crazy, but hear me out.
Chandler might not be the best big available, but that should also make him easy to get. His offensive game relies primarily on cleaning up thee offensive boards and mad cuts to the cup (not excluding those off the pick and roll), both of which work great in a D'Antoni system. He's somewhere between good and very good (on a scale from horrible to Dwight Howard) as a shot blocker, and is athletic and big enough to guard any center in the league, which is a trait the Knickerbockers haven't seen in quite some time. The most important reason to sign him has nothing to do with his skills, however, but with the fact that signing him will, by a long shot, increase the chance of signing Chris Paul, who will be available a year from now, and who was clearly upset when Chandler was traded (both times) from the Hornets, and who has described Chandler as "my big fellah", and just loves throwing the guy alley oops.
Let me know what you think, I guess. It's just...I think about that combo in D'Antoni's offense and alongside Gallo's sweet shooting and I pop a stiffy.
Not really related to anything, but...
I was at a Roots concert earlier tonight in Cleveland, and Black Thought was introducing the Fela Kuti tune they were about to cover by talking about Fela's many musical talents, and then said "I hear he's even going to come to Cleveland next year to replace a certain somebody when that certain somebody goes to New York." I cheered but then my cheers were instantly drowned out by boos from all the Clevelanders, then I thought of you guys.
2010 draft
Anybody have any thoughts on the Knicks 2010 draft picks? I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I'm somewhat optimistic. There are a few good-looking 7-footers (Jerome Jordan, Art Parakhouski) who could fall toward the middle of the second round, as well as Solomon Alabi who probably wont, but whose length and upside might be worth trading up for. There are a few tall point guards (Alexey Shved, Greivis Vasquez) who will probably be within our draft range as well, along with Lance Stephenson, who, if he grows up a bit, could be a danged good scorer in the nba. I know the hubbub about the free agents this summer isn't over nothing, but if we don't cash out and sign a big name this summer, we could do worse than pick up a backup lead guard who will be an instant mismatch and a big fellah who could guard the biggest and ugliest player the other team has, and who could keep D.Lee over at the 4, where he'd be one of the better power forwards in the league instead of a center who does really fucking well considering he's too short and handsome to match up with the big and ugly.
