Report Deal for Shaq is 2 years at 2.8 million
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-08-04/shaquille-o-neal-signs-two-year-deal-with-nba-s-boston-celtics-espn-says.html. i didn't think 2.8 was the veteran minimum so maybe this could point to a sign and trade with sheeds roughly 6 million dollar deal. The cavs could also send either jamario moon or anthony parker in the deal so the salaries match up. This would be ideal in my mind since if you had to nit pick the current roster with Shaq it looks like another wing that can shoot would be needed. I was also hoping this would be the outcome off the Shaq saga but even if it isn't the celtics still have sheed's contract. And a suitor could be Philly and Jason Kapono's 6 million dollar expiring deal.
3 way Knicks, Celtics, Houston(work for all)

Celtics get another body down low and this is a way for them to get Robinson, a straight up deal for him wouldn't work. Houston gets to trade McGrady while also getting some big men to help them out. Knicks shed cap.
i need 25 more words so iam just gonna type until that happens. i love eddie house for the record and feel like ainge is making a trade just to make a trade because he knows he has to shake things up, and know body felt Ray Allen was good enough at the end of the day.
Chicago Trades have me intrigued(bored)

this is the best possible thing that could happen to the celtics. If Chicago didn't feel like just making the playoffs and getting bounced in the first round and wanted to clear space for the summer, they would think about doing this. Anyway i thought this was damn cool. people will talk about how deng and pierce couldn't play together but i think it could work. pierce seems to be ok with setting for open 3's this year and obviously is making them shooting the highest percentage of his career. deng is similar to a younger pierce in that he loves to drive and is shooting also the best 3 point percentage of his career(over 40%). Chicago would have to think clearing the cap for 2010 is worth the season, even tho with TA and Ray they would still have a outside opportunity to make the playoffs. anyway its fun at this time of year to play around with the trade machine
KG trade (this offseason)
OK hear me out. Next off season the Celtics will have Ray Allen coming the books. Thats 18 million gone and with him declining in skill this is perfect time to cut ties. Who is there to replace such a player, Joe Johnson. Johnson is getting payed a cool 14 mill this season, a raise to 19-20 mill would fit him just fine. This is where the KG trade comes in. Chris Bosh is another player becoming a free agent this summer who will also be looking to cash in. The Celtics must take advantage off these players being on the open market in there prime, especially when there talent is getting up there in age, the time is now they must not stay status quo with KG and his knee.
So it looks like this. KG and his 3 years and about 60 million left on his deal go to any team willing to take him (for the example i choose Chicago.) The Celtics can even pay some of KG's contract and still use expiring contracts like Tony Allen and Brian Scalabrine plus the MLE to make up the difference to sign Bosh. They could ask for a player like James Johnson in return and a first round pick in 2010 and 2011. And the Celtics could add more young/athletic people with that pick ie: Xavier Henry.
If the Celtics want to continue this rain of power in the NBA they must take action. This prolongs winning as well as makes them better. And best of all this year of 2009-2010 seems to be the last shoot the Celtics have of being healthy and winning a championship, win the championship and reload with younger equal or better talent.
