*Official Joey Dorsey Movement*
So first was the KG Movement. That didn't last long with Boston crushing anyone’s hopes.
Then came the Yi Movement. Well, we all know the story on that one.
Well, here comes one that will bring the Dubs what they have been missing for years-a bad a** , bruising, pounding, rebound fiending inside presence that can run the floor, pass the ball, initiate an alley-oop and just has that attitude of get out da way or I'm gonna crush you style of player. No he's not Ben Wallace. No he's not Amare. No he's not KG or Boozer or Brand. He is 6'9" and is 260 lbs, which btw is bigger than most NBA players. HIS NAME IS JOEY DORSEY.
With all the hype over the years on guys like Bryant "Big Country" Reeves, Michael Oliwkandi, Christian Laetner, Kwame Brown, Stromile Swift, and umm, Mike Dunleavy players like Paul Milsap, Jason Maxielle, Brandon Bass and may more get picked up and help out their teams much more than guys who are hyped out the gate. Dorsey is that guy. He has the intensity, speed, athleticism, rebounding, shot blocking ability and defense we need so badly. Enough with the agile 6'8" 220 lbs string bean players Nellie likes. We already have enough of those guys who can shoot 3's, pass well and have some speed. We need a stud! A man! A man's man! I foresee Dorsey coming in and helping immediately and for very little $. He has desire and a will to pull down every board and get bloody doing it. At this point all our players stand on the perimeter and don't even box out on a rebound. We need this type of guy.
Am I the only one who see's the potential and how valuable he could be?
5 wins =Playoffs
Nothing we say will make the Dubs make the playoffs. The Dubs have to make that happen with their desire to win, but with a little investigation and some help from my bookie buddies, I have a very strong feeling the Dubs will make the Playoffs again for the second straight year. Here's why.
The Dubs are ONLY 1 game behind Denver!
There are 7 games left for the Dubs, Nuggets and Mavs.
In all reality we have the softest schedule out of the 3 teams.
Both Dallas and the Nuggets have 4 games on the road and 3 at home. The opposite for the Dubs.
We will beat Denver when we play them at the Roaracle.
The Mavs have to play 4 power house teams while the Dubs and Nuggets only play 3.
The Nuggets have a 4 game road trip which includes GS and Utah for the last of the 4 games (ouch for them).
The Mavs will lose to The Lakers, Phoenix, Utah and NO based on the fact they're 1-10 vs. teams over .500 in their last 11 tries.
The Nuggets will lose to The Dubs, Utah and Houston 2 of which are on the road.
The Nuggets have a beat up Nene and Marcus Camby at the moment.
The Dubs always seem to pull it out when their back is against the wall-well it's now that time!
After looking at the schedules, I truly believe that if we win 5 out of our last 7 we will be in. If we win 6 out of our last 7 we will be in. If we win 7 out of 7 we will be in.
The Dubs will get to the Playoffs although its gonna take a lot of TUMS and a lot of faith. I believe, do you?
B Wright is Right!
Man, is it me or is it that every time B Wright comes in the game, the kid does a good job. Maybe it's because he's playing when the game is out of hand or when a player is hurt such the case with Andris.
I don't know, but this kid is actually good. Good enough to play him for extended periods of time. Yes B Wright has talent, yes he has a 7'4" wingspan, yes he played at UNC, yes we traded him for J Rich, but most relevant reason B Wright is doing well when he plays is that he really wants to play i.e. HE HUSTLES! He hustles on every single possession. He has a lot to prove and when that's the case, you're hungry and want to excel.
Right now the Dubs know they have to win a majority of their games to make the Playoffs. They seem to be a little tired and who better to play then a 19 year old who is hungry, is smart, has a knack for getting rebounds and tip in's, plays good interior help defense, can block shots/alter shots, can actually hit a 14 foot shot for a tall guy, can take the ball up court himself and can run on the break for a mega slam dunk finish.
Nellie, God love the man, but play B Wright more. Am I the only one that thinks B Wright can bring that extra piece of energy that we are missing right now? I know Andris and Al are starters and deserve to be, but B Wright wants to play. Just give him more of a chance Nellie. Am I the only one who thinks that? Watch think about B Wright?
Can We Make It?
I've been watching hoops for over 20 years and I haven't seen such a lopsided conference in years. With that said, I am looking at the rest of the season as the playoffs for the playoffs.
There are 11 legit teams vying for a playoff spot. One night the #1 seed can drop to a #5 seed and conversely an #11 seed can move to a #7 seed. It's bizarre. I just can't see Yao Ming and TMac not making the playoffs. I also can't see AI and Mello not making it either. Phoenix, San Antonio, Dallas, LA and Utah are locks. Denver, Houston, Portland, NO and the Dubs are all behind them by a little bit. Question is, at this point in the season, do the Dubs have concern they will even make it or do yall feel as though its a lock?
Help me out because if we win 50 games and don't make the playoffs, I'll personally write to David Stern. I mean for the love of God, if the Dubs were in the East, we would only be behind Boston and Detroit as the #3 seed with other teams that are well below .500 as the #6, 7 and 8 seeds.
The Stephen Jackson Quandary
So I was at the game last night vs. the Spurs. First off, that game was awesome to be at in person. It rivaled the Lakers game earlier this year and the Playoffs last year. Way to go Dubs on being 2-0 vs. the Spurs in a month and a half.
So Stephen Jackson had a absolutely horrible first 2.5 quarters last night and its funny how many times he shot an air ball, was doubled even tripled and took strange contorted shots that didn't hit the rim, turned the ball over off his leg when dribbling into the lane and absolutely got his ankles broke by Manu Ginobli. There was a guy behind us that relentlessly clowned and dogged SJax screaming how horrible he was, how stupid he was, how he needed to stop shooting, how he needed to pass the ball as soon as he touched it. It took all the control in my body to not turn around and punch the living daylights out of this guy. The crappy thing is that he's a guy I see every game I go to so I didn't want to possibly ruin all the future games he and I would be attending just to tell him to STFU. The sad thing is he is a huge Dubs fan.
How can you sh*t on a player that has been the lifeline (aside from BD) of the team since he returned. The ironic thing was that as usual, SJax stepped it up big time when needed and was the hero of the game. How can someone just talk so much smack at the top of their lungs about SJax and be a Warrior fan? Is it possible? Is SJax that bad? Am I the only one who can take the good with the bad when it comes to SJax because as annoying as he can be, the guy just seems to be the man when needed. I'd take him all day long and to that guy, the supposed warrior fan who hated SJax, no more high fives when he saves our butts as he often does...
Oh Tony Parker
Looks like Tony Parker is getting a little side action with a Victoria's Secret model that went to his wedding with hottie Eva Longoria. I wonder if this is complete BS or if it's true? With all the gossip and here say that goes on in the entertainment & sports industries, it's hard to say if any of this kind of news is true. Maybe it is true though. That would maybe explain why Tony Parker was benched on Tuesday night vs. the Dubs. Maybe Popavic was disappointed in his boy for not being able to keep it in his pants? I don't know. My friend relayed this story to me because he is obsessed with Victoria Secret models and the Spurs, so it was a story he couldn't resist. As far as me, with all the Jessica Alba talk around here, I figured I'd pass along some news. At the least this gal is smoking hot and Tony is in her myspace page! Ouch! Here's the link:

Money State of Mind $$$
Sports kind of lacks something when you play just for $. With millions of dollars being given out to players that basically "play" for a living, go to charity functions because they are FORCED to as well as be nice and "pc" in front of the camera because they HAVE to is a distressing thing to see. I guess it's just another illustration of how money driven everything is. Everyone has their hands out looking for something and rarely does anyone want to do anything because they like to do it or want to do it. If there is no incentive, then it seems like they don't want to contribute out of good will.
Money even dictates a lot of what and how people talk about sports. Am I right that there are some people on this site that are more concerned with salary caps, IIRC, RFA and TPE's as opposed to a classic give and go or the joy of watching someone bust their ass because they actually love to play basketball?
Buike is a great example of a guy who WANTS to play, WANTS to win and will do anything to get it. He's humble and driven. Once he becomes "successful" will he ask for 48,000,000 over 6 years? I phucking hope not. Why? Well, because he would be doing the same crap a lot of other professional players would be doing and that is being money hungry, greedy and egotistical. What happened to players that played for the game, didn't bitch about a pay check that 99.999% of the world doesn't get and the chance to be a winner at the cost of them making a million less? Those days are gone my friends.
What happened to going to the game early and watching warm ups, checking out how each player shoots, moves off a screen and interacts with other players? People now don't seem to be interested in that anymore. It seems now that fans are into all the "sizzle" of corporate sponsored time out breaks whoring out some product that in two years no one will give a crap about because it got bought out by ATT, Comcast, GE or Oracle.
What happened to you knowing who was going to be on the team next year or never hearing about someone's contract expiring and it never crossing your mind wondering what team will pick him up? What happened to loyalty, what happened to wanting to win without throwing away major components of your team just to save "potential signing" dollars instead of keeping successful stars you already have?
I'm thinking I'm in the minority here that sports was better when it was "innocent" of being in bed with corporate sponsors, better when it had players more concerned with a sense of "team" instead of their own financial status compared to a peer. Better when you talked about movement, spacing, ball rotation, pick and roll defense and rebounding techniques instead of which girlfriend a guy like BD or Tony Parker was out with last night at the CNN/Time Warner/Red Bull/Comcast/Oracle/Progressive Insurance/iPod dinner last night in Los Angeles. I'm also thinking that I'm in the minority here that a guy like Buike was going to be on our team anyway, regardless if J Rich was going to be around or not. $600,000 is chump change and we would have signed him regardless if we still had to pay J Rich's salary or not, so it's not a "genius move" to get Buike. Buike would have been an awesome player to have come off the bench. Instead he has to start because the Warriors were too concerned about tomorrow instead of today by trading J Rich for a guy that so far has played 4 minutes all year and "may" be good down the road. What did we do with the money we "saved" by trading our longest tenured Warrior who was maybe the glue to the team? We got the guy that has played 4 minutes all year and another who is in the D-League and SUCKS (Kosta Perovic).
If you took out all the fireworks, Club 200, all the HD Jumbo Tron score boards, the South West tools that come out during timeouts, the flash or sizzle if you will, how many people would still go to the games? Sports has become a show more than a competition. I guess I just like basketball, but when you factor in all the marketing, financial involvement and greed, I'm a little bitter. At this point the J Rich trade has made more sense than ever. It had to do with marketing, financial involvement and greed on our owners part-not basketball and winning! I may be naive and a little old school, but man was sports better when all the $ wasn't such a monumental influence as it is today.
Any thoughts?
B. Wrights Future?
Someone mentioned yesterday their displeasure with the Warriors in regards to the "old news" J Rich trade for B Wright. I'm way over it as many of you are, but a question keeps popping up in my head. What's up with B. Wright's future? Thus far, he was added to the team simply to clear up $. Also, B. Wright has been involved in discussions regarding the D League which is scary considering POB, Kosta and Lasme make up the bottom of the barrel for the Dubs roster. My question is, what do you think the future looks like for B. Wright during this season?
Will he be on the 12 man roster?
Will he be sent down to the D League?
Will he come off the bench and contribute 10-15 minutes a night?
A very small piece of me thinks the Warriors got a little too cute with this trade for B. Wright, but the kid looks good. I want him to play ASAP so he can slowly develop some NBA game. 10 or so minutes a night would be a great start. Watch yall think?
When is the Wright time?
So I was watching the round table before the game with a couple of buds. I don't know if I missed anything that Fitzy or Barnett mentioned, but I was really looking forward to watching our subs play. Yeah, I figured BD, SJax, Harrington and Andris were going to play, but watching our reserves is why I was really interested. Buike, you are the man BTW. I knew you were going to start, but damn son, now I know why. You were like that nerdy braced faced girl who came back from summer vacation to unfold into a total hottie a la Petra Nemcova! Buike looked oh so nasty!
So this leads me to this question. WHERE THE HELL WAS BRANDON WRIGHT?! All the hype with a big fat Zero No-Show. Does anyone know why he didn't play at all? He and Belinelli were the two guys I really wanted to see. I don't know if he is still hurt or if he pissed The Don off, but its a little strange as to why he got no playing time. There has to be some reason why. Any thoughts?
KG, KG, KGeeeeeeee! - Edited
Fantasy Junkie here editing this garbage. This is exactly how to not make a diary. I'm not trying to single you out gabezgsw, but use this as an example of what a diary should not do. If you're going to write a diary, please think of it as a positive contribution to the community. If you think this site thinks too high of KG that's fine, please state your opinion with well-thought out reasoning. Tell me why trading for KG would not be a good move, none of this garbage. If you can't write something with any sort of respect to the community then you can just leave. There are other Warriors sites where you can write this kind of immature crap, so go there if that's what you like to do. In the future, we'll be deleting anything like this.
Okay. I'd like to know if you think KG is as worshiped around the rest of the country as this site and the Dubs community does? Is it me or are the Dubs fans totally selling their team short just to land a 12 veteran? Is it tunnel vision? Is it ADD? Is it doubt in your team? Is it total infactuation? Do any of you have a KG picture in your locker at school or inside your bathroom mirror? If KG ever has a bad day, he needs to log onto this website because it is amazing how much a lot of the posters here suck his d*ck. I feel like I'm walking around with Charles Barkley or Rod Higgins while they stroke MJ's lower member. Just a thought...
Feel like my dog just got ran over.
Chris Cohan just ran over J Rich in his new "Dubbed" out Mercedes Benz G body to save his little scrawny ass a lot of money. Yeah its business, but Cohan is a spineless man who basically just shoved J Rich aside to ease his personal financial concern-not to better the team. Cohan has to look at himself in the mirror and know he is a shark. J Rich has to have his jaw near the ground right now and I bet his teamates are in awe as well. Yeah its business but this call was a poor business decision. Why trade 18 plus points a night AND our 2nd round draft pick(Monta & Arenas ring a bell) for not the #1-3 draft pick or even a top 5 draft pick, but for a #8 pick in a kid who averaged 14 PPG, 6.2 RPG and 1 APG in College, not the professional Italian or Spanish league and not even the NBADL. He is 200 lbs of UNPROOVEN(NBA) talent all so Cohan can feel a little better about HIS OWN financial worries, not the " I want to better the team right now." How the phuck will this make our team better right now and make us the #4,5 or 6th seed in the playoffs because of this kid? '08-'09 Monta/AB talk needs to start then. I'm talking about the '07-'08 season. How will it help out now? It makes little sense and also takes the pleasure of knowing that no matter how much you progress, there is no loyalty in sports which gets me back to feeling like my dog just got ran over. Dogs are loyal, they make you laugh, smile all that good stuff that J Rich did-may sound funny I know. It just sucks now, but time heals as my Pops says. Hopefully "B Wright" won't "B Wrong" like Billy O for Mitch Richmond or Tom Gugliotta for C Webb. Bubble All-Star and a 2nd rounder for a 19 year old #8 draft pick-WOW!!! Mullin, you must have ESP because that trade wouldn't go down very well in the NYSE or the NASDAQ if you want "better rebounding and more wins for the '07-'08 season." O boy???
Summer Time A D D
Okay, here's my 2 cents. Its really funny that the only time the Warriors had their "regular" starting line up for the year was when they went on a 16-5 run to finish the season AND beat up on Dallas in the playoffs and held their own against the Jazz. They were a top 5 team in the entire league when they had their "regular" line up. They beat the likes of Detroit, Dallas, Clippers, Suns, Houston and Utah to name a few. Pause, now think. Seriously, pause and think. Let the oxygen sink in and think. That means they were good. They lost to the Jazz in the playoffs, it happened-get over it. Only 7 other teams made it as far as they did and the rest were at home eating Cheeto's. Now again, think about that. The next progression would have been to go to the Western Conference Finals which means only 3 teams would be as good as them in the entire league. Think about that.
Where does all this trade talk come from? Is it the fact we sucked? Is it the fact that we didn't make the playoffs for the 14th year in a row? Is it the fact that we have no potential All-Star players? Is it the fact that out of all the players in the league we didn't have the Most Improved Player in our 21 year old Monta? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
I guess I can't answer my own question. Yeah, I hear the spirit of "lets make the team better!" I'm all for progression, don't get me wrong but progression means we'd be a top 4 team in the enire league going to the Western Conference Finals. Trading J Rich, Baron, Monta or AB would be a mistake and it all sounds like Jr. High Milk Break trade rumor Bull Sh*t talk aka rummerville. I understand that its fun to propose trades, but the reality of them is so wack IMO. The Dubs have made 2-3 steps in the right direction which hasn't taken place since most of our GSoM'ers were watching Power Rangers and Pokemon. Have patience oh GSoM'ers. If we kept every player from this past season we would have a better record than our 42-40 last year. That right there is improvment. Our players have the summer to work on their weakness and Mullin has the chance to pick up some good young talent in the draft. To break up what we have all to get a player in the draft OR a mega star is a little too much of a gamble considering what little $$$ and players we have to offer. Ying-Yang baby. To get someone like a KG, it will have to take away a good balance of what and who we are. Let's just take a chill pill and I bet you all will be happy with what happens. Yes we need to rebound better, but come on. Why break something apart RIGHT when the really good part is to come? Is it A D D or HD A D D or what ever doctors call it? I don't know. Like I said, I like the spirit of all the trade Bull Sh*t and its cool to entertain and chew on, but some of it is sooooooooooooooo far out there I had to write something. Go Dubs!!!
Don't Believe the Hype???
As Chuck D and Flava Flav said in 1989, "Don't Believe The Hype", I was thinking, is Greg Oden all that he is hyped up to be? I just can't stop thinking of 3 players, 2 of which were Players of the Year in the NCAA and went to the Final Four more than once and were in the top 3 of their draft are:
- Joe Smith
- Micheal Oliwikandi
- Christian Lattener
- Shawn Bradley #2 pick
- Bryant Reeves #6 pick
- Keith Van Horn #2 pick
- Kwame Brown #1 pick
Big Man or Smarter Play?
Is it me or is the rebounding issue a little too played out? We were a bad rebounding team in the regular season and especially the playoffs, but thus far there is a team left that we get compared to that was worse in rebounds during the reg. season and playoffs and that team is the Suns. If they had Amare and Boris in game 5, the series would be 3-2 Pheonix right now not 3-2 San Antonio. That leads me to this question, do we need a big man like Amare and Kurt Thomas, or do we need to think about better shot selection and overall play?
I think that we have some guys who can board and when we shoot shots that are closer in proximity to the hoop with good spacing, the better our chances of getting boards. If we shoot 30 three pointers per game in the regular season in '07-08 we will be in the same boat we were in in '05-06 when we got 3 happy with Mike Montgomery and everyone was tired of watching that. I think we lost in the playoffs, partly because of the poor/lack of patient shot selection. Conversely, we won games due to the 3 pointer. Were we lucky? Did WILL alone get us some games? Did our kick ass crowd get us some wins? I say yes to those 3 questions. I think if we play smarter and focus on that, good things will come such as more boards, less turnovers, more steals, more positive outcomes ext. I also think that we gained a lot of experience, and I mean A LOT! Lets take that experience and learn from it. Do we need to trade big parts of our team to get rebounders? I think no. Do we need to play fast, but under control, I think yes. The ladder statement is straight from Mr. John Wooden himself. "Play fast and quick, but play under control" Great season Dubs, lets go gett'em next year!!! P.S., no more fast break 3 pointers with 4 defensive players waiting for the board while our remaining 4 players haven't even reached half court. That ish killed me time and time again.
Shadow Boy for real?
I may be real late on this one, but there is a dude here named Shadow Man who keeps chiming in on our site AND he's a Jazz fan!!!. I mean, doesn't the Jazz have a site like this? Even if not, it seems like Shadow Man has some ballz for talking smack or even talking at all. Keep it to your self and all your toe headed clones up in Utah where the women practice pimpology, hence the paligomy. I guess no alcohol and no fan apreciation can drive a man to go onto other teams blog-sites and give his 2 cents about how cool Benoit Benjamin and Gregg Ostertag were. Tell your team that its OUR TURN to get the rebounds that bounce off Boozers head then off Kirilinko then Williams hands to get some ugly put back in for an easy 2. Tell your team it better get ready to get raped down low in the post for 3 straight shot attempts to then have Baron get the loose ball to go to the hoop on a fast break and have Deron Williams touch one of his hair folicles to get a foul called on a potential 3 point play. Tell your team that they should pay attention to real fans at the Oracle cause you guys were siting on your hands until it really mattered. Just watch out Shadow Boy and go somewhere you're liked...
The Ebb and Flow, Oracle Style
So, do you remember what it was like as a kid when your teacher kept you in from recess because you were tardy by 2 minutes, then at lunch break you had to stay in because you got 3 check marks next to your name for some dumb reason-maybe talking about RUN TMC or how cool Joe Montana was while teacher was talking. All you could think about was getting on the playground and having a blast dribbling and hiting buckets over Johnny Schmity, your fellow rival hoopster, yet you were in the classroom picking up gum from under the desks. You could invision how Schmity was having fun and you were steaming inside knowing when you got out there you were going to go ape sh*t and run him and those fools come afternoon recess. Well, 2:00 came and just like Ice Cube said, "get me on the court and I'm trouble" you went off on poor Jonny Schmity who was bragging to all the guys about how he kicked a** on the court ealier all while staring at you dead set in your eyes. The fact that your Mom dropped you off late combined with the teacher picking on you putting 3 check marks after your name fuled the fire to go out there and KICK SOME MAJOR A**. You could have just folded your arms and pouted, but no. Well, sure enough, pride and hustle got you a victory on the school yard play ground courts and Johnny Schmity wasn't the last one laughing. First you were down, then you were high as a kite and took that feeling to clean house for the rest of the week at school. Oracle is going to be our play ground, our late Mom and crap teacher are Michel Pietrus and crap ref's and the pride and hustle are going to be ooozing out of every pour when we get back home in the sea of gold at the Oracle. We need just one, just one win and it can be amazing what can happen. Remember, Utah is good, no one thinks we should have even been here and in theory we SHOULD be down 2-0, but when the chips are down and we are written off, that's when we come back to wipe that look off of ole Jonny Schmity's, I mean the Utah Jazz's face-Lets go Warriors!!!! We Believe!!!!
Puke in my Mouth...
GSoM's, I was on a Dallas Mavericks fan page and this quote made me want to puke in my mouth. Everything this dude says is way off. Its funny to hear what people have to say about the Dub's. This should be plastered all over the locker room to give the Dub's even more reason to kick the s*t outta the Mavericks.
"Probably shouldn't even play any of the games. Just show up and let the better team go on to the next round. An 8th seed has never beaten a 1 seed in a 7 game series. The Warriors should feel privledged to be on the same court as the Mavs. They have no players, an old coach who never had a hand in creating a playoff caliber team, and live in such a boring area. I'd be surprised if the Warriors come within 40 points at the end of the game, let alone even win one. What a mis-match, sort of David and Goliath like. An upset could never ever happen. No underdog such as G.S. could be the great and glorious Dallas team winners of much and many titles." DUMB A*!!!
Ahhhh!!!
1994 was the last time I saw our Warriors on TNT/TBS for the playoffs and we still had Chokewell and Webber. Mulie was a player and Don Nelson was well still a fat slob, allbeit a Basketball God. Well, now its f...ing 2007?! Injuries my friends, injuries have been the baine of our existance. In all of sports, teams that are healthy usually win it all and teams that are hurt all the time usually loose. If you are a good team, you overcome adversity and paly ball like you do when you are at PRACTICE, what PRACTICE?! Well whats up with our beloved Dub's? Are they an injured team, don't even answer that... Are they good? No really are they good? At this point I'd have to say they are repeating history. By that I mean they are once again hurt, bad, like run over from an 18 wheeler hurt. Isn't it like that every year? We always hear that smae ole excuse, "they are hurt, like the worst in the league man." Well can that be true for 14 years straight? No, good teams overcome the injury bug with team play and good coaching and most of all DESIRE!!! We look as flat as a can of RC cola in 100` heat in Alabama. Face it, the GSW haven't a lot of passion and desire. Its that plain and simple. I want to see bloddy arms, burn marks from diving to the floor for a lose ball, players showing emotion and not just the "awe come on dawg look". If there is a will, there is a way. The players don't play hard enough and when they look at themselves in the mirror every night, they think, "man that sucks we lost. Honey can you grab the keys to the BMW 750iL and get our dinner reservations set for the French Laundry? Man I love myself, I love all my money and the world is great, oh yeah we lost...Honey can you turn off the 83" Plasma too? I have to go get my nails done after our Fillet Mignon and Froix Gras tonight babe..." F....ng pussies, GSW, what is your problem? Injured, no you suck ass, but hey, no matter, I still love watching you and watching you loose with all of our traded players beating us cause we have no clue as to whats really going on. 16/20 games needed and we are in the playoffs, other than that we suck even with a great line up. Damn, when will we see the damn light? I love you GSW, I really do, but enough is enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Racist no, capitalistic yes!
Atma Brother One is the man but David Stern Racist? Come all man, this issue is so played out. David Stern wants more people to watch and attend games and one way to do that is by having players dress in pants and a shirt-wow. Yeah, its very shallow and I love sweatpants, sideways hats and retro jersies, but I don't wear that when I'm waiting tables, doing construction, being a nurse, government worker or going to a meeting. Troy Murphy and J. Rich should be dressed in a mannor that represents their boss, their game and the NBA as a whole. Freedom of expression is a valid argument, but where does racism come into play. Yeah hip hop is represented in the NBA. DAVID STERN LOVES HIP HOP. If he didn't he wouldn't have it blasted over the loud speakers during warm ups and time outs, he wouldn't have his tapes and CD's with hip hop all over them and wouldn't have hip hop artests helping out with PR and Marketing. Its racist people that would even think of the idea that its racist that you should ware pants and a dress shirt. YOU MAKE $50,000,000 DUDE. PUT ON A DRESS SHIRT AND PANTS, SHUT THE F..K UP AND LAUGH YOUR WAY TO THE BANK!!! If you truley believe in what you say, quit the team, but yeah, you really don't give a s..t and you just want to stir the pot Mr. Artest and others quoted by others in GSoM. Arm sleves and tights were an uneeded clothing/performance garment of the NBA in some form, but the NFL, NHL, MLB and nearly all sports have uniform rules for games. Tuck in your jersy and pull up your socks in soccer and NFL are examples that are mandated by the league.
Stern wants house holds that make $102,000 combined wages, 2.2 children and the lawn and white picked fence to watch and go to games. Oh yeah, majority of hip hop CD's, DVD's and concerts are purchased by the before mentioned economical segment. If you have palyers that go into the stands and start kicking peoples ass's cause their private parts are to small and they even sort of represent a segment of society that is known as "thugish" no matter if its White trash, Mexican/Chinies/Jewish/Italian mafia's or whatever you choose, Stern will rectify the situation and implement a very topical and meaning less rule like the dress code. Racist no, Capitalistic YES!!! Again, Don't believe the hype yall!!!-
Don't believe the hype
In the words of Flava Flav, " don't believe the hype!" I'm new to the GStateofmind and am having some difficulties reading some of these blogs. I've been through all the years of torture. I'm under 30 years of age and have had the blue and gold as my go to team in the NBA 4life. Joe Barry Carol and Sleepy Floyd were my first remembrences of our beloved team. Then came George Karl, Don Nelson( the glory years), Rick Adelman, a couple of dudes who I can't even remember, Dave Cowens and Mr. DUI Muscleman who shouldn't of even been fired for Mr. Passive Montgomery. Now we have come full circle to Don Nelson. The first game of the year and I can't believe my eyes. All this jerking off all preseason about how the GSW are going to be top 10 in the entire NBA, how a healthy B. Davis and J. Rich will be a force and lastly that "the Don" will take them back to the promise land and all I hear is piss. I'm reading all this trash after 48 minutes of a 82 game season-a little premature I think yes. Dunlevey this, Pietrus that, free throws-WHATEVER!!! Its the first game yall. Calm down and take a chill pill. Don't complain about the next best palyer to Odem and Kobe in Turian being that he single handedly was a force in the last 10 or so games of the season last year to propell the Lakers to the playoffs and first round victory and now you all realize that he is very solid. Don't complain how the Warriors lost their first game and its a shame because look at 4 or more teams that made the playoffs last year in the Heat, Clippers, Suns and Pistons and they are as bad as our GSW right now. Where is your faith? Don't jump the gun yall. Have a little patience and don't let your A D D take over. Have a beer, sit down and enjoy good things to come. If not and the GSW take a dump, its all good-we are used to it as opposed to the Lakers, Celtics, Pistons, Spurs and Bulls!!!
