McCovey Chronicles 1989 San Francisco Giants Lineup

I might just be stoned but I can't help think how our present lineup nearly resembles the memorable 1989 Giants. I'm an 80's kid and one of my fondest recollection from my childhood was playing "Strikeout" with my older brother. There was one pitcher, one hitter, and a strikezone etched on the wall. The greatest part of the game was imitating different batting stances of Major Leaguers, two of favorite being Will "The Thrill" Clark and Ricky "Man of Steal" Henderson. As I take another drag of my Hawaiian homegrown Hay, I will play the role of Sabes and assemble a 2010 Giants lineup that will take us to the World Series and possibly win it all.

Golden State Of Mind Another Trade Idea:

As far as I'm concern, the Warriors are playing like they belong in the playoffs. I was listening to KNBR this evening and they briefly talked about how well GoldenState is playing since the return of Captain Jack and that they may be the team with the deepest and most potent bench. Thats great and all, but the only problem is this deep bench lacks a power forward to go toe to toe with Duncan and Boozer. I might be trippin, but remember Mullin had been linked to the Knicks about replacing Isiah. C'mon! That would never happen. What if they were talking about trade possibilties instead. Don't you feel the Knicks, who are definitely not going to make the playoffs, should reform their whole organization. We need a big man and a back up point guard. So here you go...

GSW gets DAVID  LEE and NATE ROBINSON

NYK gets ELLIS and KOSTA or O'BRYANT and $10 TPE

What do you think about lineup:

PG DAVIS           ROBINSON       HUDSON
SG AZUBUKE      PIETRUS
SF JACKSON       BARNES
PF LEE                HARRINGTON   WRIGHT
C BIEDRINS        CROSHERE        DJ

Golden State Of Mind Trade Idea: Monta

Winning the most improved player last season, Monta Ellis definitely has a great upside. But personally, I feel Azubuke is better all around player and with Belinelli on the rise, I just don't see Monta in the Warriors future. Mullin needs to find a team who is need of a young shooting guard and make a trade for a big man. The only team that comes in mind are the Seattle Supersonics. Monta can surely take over the scoring for Allen. May be not shoot as great beyond the arc, but his capability to get in the paint and finish is a mirror-image of allen. So here's my trade offer:

Trade Monta, Wright,Perovic for
Wilcox and a 2nd round pick

Projected Line up:

PG Davis - Hudson
SG Azubuke - Belinelli - Peitrus
SF Harrington - Jackson
PF Wilcox - Barnes - Lasme
C  Biedrins - O'Bryant - Croshere

Golden State Of Mind NBA.com IDEA: Pietrus to Utah

NBA.com stir up yet another trade rumor that involves the Warriors and Jazz. So, I pull up Utah's roster on ESPN's Trading Machine and figure the possibilities. Obviously Deron, Boozer, and Okur are the faces of the franchise, so there going nowhere. Automatically I think about AK47 and how he can be benficial to the Warriors. First, AK47 has a definite presence in the paint. Can imagine AK47 and AB15 guarding the basket? And don't forget about Wright and Lasme off the bench. Second, he is superior in running the floor and he will only excel in Nellie's system. Thirdly, comparing him to Harrington, he is 3 years younger and obviously a better rebounder, passer, and overall defender. I can see Utah moving AK47 because of his 4 year contract. Utah needs to save money to extend Deron's contract next year and Boozer's contract the following year. So here's another of my infamous trade possibility. Enjoy!

GSW gets AK47, Dee Brown

UTH gets Harrington, Pietrus

PG Davis + Ellis + Brown
SG Ellis + Belinelli + Buke
SF Jackson + Barnes + Lasme
PF AK47 + Barnes + Wright
C  Biedrins + Croshere + POB + Perovic

========================================

[Moderator's Note, by OptionZero:] Here's the link to the actual article from the Salt Lake Tribune:

Pietrus enjoyed a nice season -- 11.1 points per game and 38.8 percent shooting from the three-point line. At 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds, he has desirable size for his position and he's not a salary cap burden. But here is the drawback in pursuing Pietrus: He is a restricted free agent, meaning Golden State can sit back and keep him by merely matching the best offer he receives. From what I've heard, that's precisely what the Warriors have planned on doing all along -- barring an insane offer from one of the few teams which started the summer with a lot of money to spend on free agents.

Golden State Of Mind Idea: Camby for the TPE

24 million over, the Denver Nuggets are in dire need of some cap relief especially with Iverson's contract up next season. I doubt AI is going anywhere else. He will probably retire as a Nugget in hopes to capture the ship with his wing man Melo. So let's use that 10M trade exception wisely. It hurt to see  J-Rich leave the bay. But it would be a slap in the face to all warriors fans if Mullin used the 10M to acquire a player(s) other than KG, Camby, Marion, or any other star calibur player on a team with a high team salary. So if it's not KG, I would love to see Camby and   Biedrins side by side. What a block party that would be. Camby and Biedrins avg. 8+ blocks a night. Baron, Elly, Belly, and Jax avg. 10+ steals a game. Whatchu think Mullin Heads?

PG Davis - Jdub
SG Jackson - Ellis - Belly
SF Harrington - Buke
PF Camby - Wright - Lasme
C  Biedrins - Powell - Foyle - Kosta

*sarunas/MP/POB for Jdub
