2011 Mock Draft
Not that anyone really cares since the 2010 Draft just happened, but there isn't anything else for draft analyzers to do between draft except speculate on the next one. McShay has come out with his 2011 mock draft and it is ESPN Insider content so I won't give every pick. For those who can't see it he has the 49ers picking 15 but it must be from the power rankings or something because if we win the West like he has us we would make the playoffs and be picking later. Anyway he has us taking Ryan Mallet, QB Arkansas. He must have assumed Smith won't turn out like we hope.
First Round Picks
I know that this should probably be asked in the Mock draft thread, but I wanted to attach a poll to it to see what the majority of Niners Nation thought about this. Trading our first round picks have been talked about a lot in the Mock draft thread so I wanted to see what you guys thought about what we should do with our first round picks rather than the players we should take. Personally I would like to trade the 13th and change to move up to try to get Eric Berry if he is available around the 7th pick. Then I would like to try to trade the 17th back to the end of the first round or into the second. Maybe packaging both the 13th and 17th to move up and get a 2nd or 3rd in return.
Kipers First 2010 mock
It is an ESPN Insider article so if you guys can't see it Kiper has the 49ers taking Trent Williams at 13 and Earl Thomas at 16. I have always thought Kiper was an idiot but I do not mind either pick. I think I would rather have Spiller, who went at 14 and Bulaga, who went at 18 but these two would not upset me.
McNabb to the Rams?
I am going to start this off by saying this came from ESPN NFL Rumors section and I know that all these are just speculation and most of the things said on there will never happen. That being said it has been speculated that since Kevin Kolb's and McNabb's contracts end at the end of next year that the Eagles may try to trade McNabb and keep Kolb for much cheaper. I would provide a link to the page but many of you are not ESPN Insiders and it would only take you to the NFL Rumors page.
The Rams seem to one of the suitors trying to get McNabb and they also have their eye on Vick. As of right now if one of the two were going to go to the Rams it would most likely be Vick since McNabb could threaten to retire rather then play for a 1-15 team. The Rams also have the number 1 pick overall and they could possibly take a QB but most predictions point to them taking Suh.
The Rams have a lot of holes to fill on the roster but assuming they draft Suh and trade for either McNabb or Vick would this make them a possible contender in the West? They seem to be lacking at many of the skill positions mainly receiver and in the secondary. If they are able to keep Atogwe and draft a decent defensive back that could make their defense fairly good with Long and Suh anchoring the line and James Laurinaitis emerging at linebacker. I am wondering whether you guys think this will make the Rams at least a .500 team if not a contender in the West?
I believe that if they draft decently, not great, but decently that this move will only make them a .500 team. There are too many holes that need to be filled and depth that needs to be added. However, I do believe that making this move will make them a couple pieces away from competing for the division again. Also with the identity that the Rams have right now and lack of skill at the wideout position, I believe that Vick would be the better addition because he is a dual threat. I am not saying in anyway that he is the better overall QB. McNabb is a much better QB but he has become more of a passing QB rather than a mobile QB. In fact in seems as though he has become a little fragile as of late and behind that line I do not think he would last. I think having Vick and Jackson in the backfield would make them much like the Titans. I know Jackson is not as good as CJ but Vick may be better then Young.
Anyway I know this is all about the Rams but I was wondering if the Rams were somehow able to get McNabb, if you guys think we would need to worry about them for the divisional title or if they need a lot more help to even think about winning the division?
Manning vs. Brady
With 2009 coming to an end it is time to start talking about the all decade team. I was watching ESPN First Take and the guy (I forget his name) doing the all decade team chose Brady over Manning. Now I strongly disagree with this because the only reason he gave for choosing Brady is because he has more rings. Manning has the best individual stats of the decade in almost every category. Manning even has more wins overall then Brady but I do not think that should be a QB's stat since it is a team sport. I know Brady was out a year but even if the Patriots went 16-0 that season Manning would still have more wins.
The only thing that Brady has over Manning is 2 Super Bowl rings. I can understand his reasoning if Manning had never won but Marino is still considered one of the greatest QBs of all time or if it was the best post season QB but it is the best QB. I think it should be Manning not only because of the stats but also the way he is in complete control of the offense. Now I am going to open the discussion to you guys with a poll.

Some of the picks I had some trouble on so just let me know what you guys think and if it is any better than my last mock. Like I said it was rushed so I don't know how much better it will be.
Edit: I have changed a couple picks after looking through it. I probably should have just waited till next week to post a mock since I wasn't able to put much time into this one.
My First Mock
First off I would like to say that this is my first attempt ever at making a mock draft. I know it is going to be pretty bad and that is why I am putting no comments in after each pick yet. That will come later after it has been dissected by you guys. So please let me know if I have the wrong pick for your team and what you think it should be and I will most likely correct that for my next one. Also, let me know if a player is drafted much lower then they should be. I don't follow every potential draftee so some of the guys I didn't really know where to put them. I am sure I have forgotten someone who is a definite first rounder as well.
The order is from the ESPN power rankings. They are not my predictions and obviously the last 12 picks or so will be different due to the playoffs. I will most likely be adding a second and third round as the end of the season nears and the draft gets closer but that is for another time. Everyone's input is appreciated since I do not know exactly what every team needs. Thanks.

Also I was pretty tired when I wrote this so could you guys point out any typing errors. Thanks.
Andre Smith
According to ESPN Andre Smith has now signed with the Bengals. That leaves Crabtree as the lone unsigned draft pick.
2010 Mock
I dont know if you guys can see that but its Todd McShay's 2010 mock and he has us picking at 8 and 10 from Carolina. We picked Taylor Mays, S, USC and Sergio Kindle, OLB, Texas.
Trading for Peppers
After reading this from Barrows I started to wonder what I would give to get peppers. It makes sense since we have two first round picks and Carolina just drafted his apparent replacement eventually in Brown. I would probly only give Carolina back their first rounder and a second and maybe some players but I'm not really sure so I was wondering what you guys thought about it and what you would be willing to give Carolina to get Peppers?
