The Library of Congress had a series of pictures of Brown's pitching motion. A clever guy named Nate Little looped them into a video that's pretty cool to watch.

This is from the "Roto Arcade: Lockdown" article by Andy Behrens which I get at through our Fantasy Baseball page:

Rich Hill has allowed 32 earned runs this season, and the San Diego Padres, the team with the lowest batting average (.244) in the National League, have scored 10 of them. He gave up five earned runs in three innings on Sunday. Bob Brenly suggested that Hill might be tipping his pitches, and the Padres have caught on. Or maybe Greg Maddux caught on last year, and brought some helpful scouting information with him to San Diego. Mike Cameron is 4-for-5 against Hill this season with 4 HR and 5 RBI.

That crafty Maddux...

Hi all -- I've been a regular reader of BleedCubbieBlue since its days as "And another thing!". I don't spend too much time in the comments section though, so hello to all you diehard regulars that wade through all those. I live in Utah so I don't get to see many Cub games, but I just happened to be in Atlanta this evening and when I found out the Cubs would be in town with me I talked the cousins I'm staying with into heading downtown with me to see the game.

I don't have the talent for writing these recaps that Al does, but I'll just throw in a couple observations from the game, and tack on a couple of so-so pictures too:

(1) Soriano's bat is on fire -- he was 2/3 and the one he didn't get a hit on was a smoking line drive right at us in the center field seats. I wish he was hitting farther down in the order.

(2) Andruw Jones covers a lot of ground in CF and makes that position look so easy. After he caught a pop-up behind second base my wife and I kind of scratched our heads when we remembered where he started running from to get to it.

(3) For some reason I got a kick out of the CF fans harassing Felix Pie by pronouncing his name like the food instead of pee-ay. There were also a bunch of people behind me with a giant "I <heart> Cox" sign -- now do you really think that's the way to get on TV!?

(4) I didn't get to see too much of it, but Turner Field seems like a pretty cool park. Lots of readable, viewable scoreboards, good atmosphere, friendly fans and all those extra thingies that the kids and kids-at-heart like to do (how fast can you pitch? can you hit a major league pitch? etc, etc)

(5) Though Turner Field was nice, getting out of there was a nightmare. We got funneled seemingly all the way across downtown Atlanta, completely unable to get to the freeway we wanted to, and ended up having to go way, way out of our way to get home. My aunt who lives here tells me Atlanta traffic and driving is always a nightmare and now I got to see it firsthand. So I recommend public transportation tomorrow night, Al. :-)

Here's a couple pictures (ball park pics never turn out well for me):

There's Soriano about to hit the game-winning RBI. That's the only picture I took of a Cub hitting -- I guess I should've taken more...

Felix Pie tenses up while waiting for a pitch. If I saw him catch a ball all night I've forgotten. But that's probably because Rich Hill was just striking everybody out.

OK, that's that. That's 4 out of the last 5 for the good guys (and a one-run win to boot!). Let's keep it going tomorrow!
