what's the deal with the 21 y/o who's hitting .380 in low A ball ?  every night i check the box score, and he seems to be doing something good. anybody have a scouting report ? is he a legit prospect , even though he seems old for Augusta ?   could we possibly have 2 promising outfielders in our system ( with neal) ?   Peguero is hitting in the 3-hole now, even though he's not hitting home runs.  only 5 walks in 175 ab's.... yikes.  those with the knowledge please share.....

  all of the crede hype, which turned into beltre discussions, which morphed into marte mania. how about taking a shot at a powerfull left-handed bat, who led the minors in dingerz last year ?  a former top prospect in the angels organization, looks to have finally put his back issues behind him at the age of 28. i know, he's always struck out a bunch, i got it, but who else on the giants has 30 hr potential ?

   mcpherson is in camp with the marlins now. he's out of options, and blocked at first and 3rd by cantu and rookie 1b gabby sanchez. this http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/baseball/marlins/sfl-mar022209,0,63446.story article suggests he's had a great off season workout program , and wants to have a hull time gig.

any body read these columns today ?  olney updates on the giants manny persuit, although not too much we don't already know. the rosenthal column suggests that seattle is looking to deal adrian beltre, in order to free up some cash to spend on abreu. are the giants a better team with beltre at 3rd, than any of our previous discussions of random players?  he is in the final year of his contract, as is randy winn.  if we sent winn, and a mid level prospect ( a matos or peguero) to seattle for one year of beltre.

giants get gold glove 3b with solid bat, an opening in RF for nate or lewis if manny thing goes down.

   seattle gets winn, prospect, and a savings of @ 3 million in salary difference between winn/beltre.

   is this better than creaky crede ?

       joe crede had his workout in front of scouts yesterday in arizona. rumor had it, that te giants had people there, although i have yet to find anybody to comment on what they saw. did i miss something ? help a brother out...   also, ken rosenthal suggested that the giants may be looking at abreu as a cheaper alternative to manny. i'm not sure he's a fit. if you believe everything you read online ( it IS all true, afterall)... giants sound busy.

  in light of recent legal developments ( seeming positive for bonds, and negative for clemens), is it not likely that in 5 years clemens will be the face of the steroid era ?

    clemens may also find it more difficult to get into the hall of fame. barry, although he had "diva" and personality issues, has a combination of stats and gold gloves that we've never seen before. roger was an outstanding pitcher, but i can not think of one mlb record he owns by himself. ( i believe he's tied with a few other for k's in one game.)

  finally, i believe the worst is still ahead for clemens. we have the dude on the stand, telling all which cheek of roger's he injected, and the needles to prove it.

    with the 5th pick in the 2008 amateur draft, the san fran giants take c buster posey from florida state. (giants fans cheer !!  ..mostly).  meanwhile, a little known catching suspect/prospect named pablo sandoval goes on a 6 month demolition tour of any and all pitching in his path. ( 9 months if you count venezuela winter league, which he was the batting avg. leader).

    how different would all of these recent posts be had the giants taken justin smoak with the 5th overall pick instead of posey. benjie molina is a FA after the 2009 season, which would allow the round mound of pound to slide back to his (more) natural postion of catcher.

     i guess it's a matter of opinion... do you feel better about sandoval c/ smoak 1b or do you favor posey c/ sandoval 1b ?  i like posey, but i feel better about sandoval/ smoak.
