Tyreke's Hoops for Troops Game 2
Tyreke going for the second game winner this week.
Yet another season preview...
By show of hands, who else is sick of this lockout? Normally around this time of year we'd be getting jazzed up about training camp, preseason, and the new big name free agent acquisitions that the Maloofs brought into town (or maybe not), but instead we're subjected to following national reporters on Twitter in hopes of catching some scrap of optimism from board meetings that have thusfar been anything but positive. To this point on StR, I have been limited to commenting on the work of others rather than putting out any entries myself, so with this post I'd like to join those of you who have been bold enough to share more than just a brief snippet of your opinions.
As any follower of the Sacramento Kings can attest, the last few years haven't been all that pretty. Certainly there have been some high points: The awarding of the ROY to Tyreke Evans, the selection and subsequent brilliance of DeMarcus Cousins, a certain game-winning shot against the Memphis Grizzlies, and (my personal favorite) the sweep of Jimmermania all across Northern California. But we've had more than our fair share of challenges. A 17-win season, followed by a 25-win season over the last couple of years, and the unspeakable idea of moving to Anaheim. But through it all, we have persevered and remained one of the most loyal and dedicated fanbases in all of professional sports. This year, I believe we will reap our rewards.
There are a number of reasons for that premise, but I will limit them to 4: Tyreke, DeMarcus, Thornton, and Jimmer.

For all those Jimmer fans out there, this is amazing!
I know it's not Kings related, but this is why I love my school.
"If he is traded, he'd want to be bought out to he could survey the landscape and re-evaluate what he wants to do going forward," agent Andy Miller told ESPN.com in the wake of numerous reports the Nets had engaged the Pistons in three-way trade talks with the aim of bringing Anthony, Billups and Richard Hamilton to New Jersey...
'We've had numerous conversations with the Nuggets -- today was the latest, but we've had conversations throughout the entire season -- where we've made it clear that Chauncey wants to remain a Nugget for the duration of his career, and then after his career is over he wants to move into the front office," Miller said."
For those hoping to bring in Billups as part of our rebuilding process (myself included), doesn't look like it's gonna happen.
Melo trade in the works
Any chance we get in on this action? If we can find a way to turn Carl Landry into Devin Harris or Chauncy Billups, I'm all for it.
Should we pursue Delonte West?
It's an intriguing proposition that Harper suggests. While I think the contract he suggests may be a little high, if we could get Delonte at a reasonable price this could definitely be a risk worth taking.
In a league that values franchise centers so much, it's still hard to accept how Cousins fell to the fifth pick. We all know about his faults, but his hands, reach and feel will make him a dominant rebounder immediately, and his touch as a finisher is impressive. On top of that, his passing -- both out of the low block and in starting the fast break -- is what has me most excited about him.
