Blueshirt Banter Rangers still in the race for Kovalchuk

RDS (via Twitter) says that the Thrashers GM mentioned that 3 teams are in the Kovalchuk race: Boston, the Rangers, and Chicago.

Chicago makes sense - if they were to add Kovy, they would have to fail miserably to not win the Cup. No team in the NHL could come close to competing with them. They have ammunition with Barker and Versteeg, but they would most certainly have to cough up picks as well.

Boston has been known to be "very interested" in Kovalchuk, but then again, who isn't? The Bruins certainly have the ammunition for the trade with both Rask and Toronto's first rounder (possibly Hall or Seguin), but both are potentially far more valuable than Kovalchuk (with his eventual contract taken into account) would be.

As for us, well... enough has been said about the potential for Kovy in Broadway Blue. I'm just very surprised that we're still in the talks.
