Blazer's Edge Junk Drawer - 12/28

It is 5 pm and no junk drawer?  My JD virginity is now taken.

I'm bored and watching the UVA vs GT game and looking at trade possibilities.

Trade ID #4893390 - Ike + Sergio for Conley Jr.

I was looking at Memphis because of the rumor a month back about Blazer/Memphis talks regarding Trout and Sergio for Warrick and Conley Jr. and also the D. Miles factor. I would do this if I was the Blazers because I don't see Sergio staying past his rookie deal unless he is starting and I don't think Nate will ever go for that.  Memphis would probably demand a first rounder to even consider this and I don't think KP and TP could sit out a first round.

Blazer's Edge 32 wins a gimme?

I ask because the over/under for Blazer wins is 30.5 (-115) at my preferred sports wagering services provider. As soon as I saw that I took everything in my account (a modest sum) and put it on the over. I think 32 wins is a lock as long as Brandon and LaMarcus stay healthy for most of the season. I'm guessing 36-40 wins this season.

Blazer's Edge If KP gets another lottery pick...

There has been a ton of talk/speculation in the blogosphere about KP and the Blaze looking for another top ten pick in this draft.  I think it's very likely that this is indeed true. We definitely have the assets to make it happen (JJ, Martell, Zach), but for who? Who do you think KP wants  besides the guy we draft at #1 (more and more I think that'll be Oden)?

Do you think KP would draft another post (Noah, Yi, Horford, Hawes) or a SF (Brewer, Green, J. Wright) or a ___?

If we acquire another lotto pick, my guess is that we take Green or J. Wright. Both of those guys have good size and could slide in as a backup PF if Outlaw goes. Plus KP loves KU guys (J. Wright) and he scouted the Big E heavily this year, which leads me to suspect Green

just my  $0.02

P.S. If you're a Durant guy, than you probably gotta assume that we're looking for a C with any second pick we get. Whose the next best C after Oden? Yi, Horford (could he actually be a legit NBA C?), Noah?

All I know is that if KP gets a second lottery pick, look out, 'cause anything could happen!

Blazer's Edge Riddle me this... (Oden/Durant)

Do you really want to play Kevin Durant 4 times a year for maybe all of his career? Not even mentioning the fact that the Blazers and Sonics are bound to meet in the playoffs at some point.  The thought makes me shudder. Allen, Lewis, Durant. Sick.

I think Oden will be very good, but not very great, and doesn't appear to match Durant's work ethic (from what I've read).  I wouldn't mind having to play Oden 4 times a year (move Lamarcus to the 5 in those games and have him hit those long rangers all night with Durant and Roy penetrating!).  And also, by drafting Durant and forcing Seattle to pick Oden, you make 3 of their last 4 picks (Sene, Swift, Petro, or were those 3 in a row?) wastes, because they are all centers.  It's like a jujitsu super move where we effectively nullify all of their past draft moves up to that point. Plus I feel like with Allen getting over the hill, Lewis and Oden would be just enough to keep Seattle mediocre for the foreseeable future.

The future's bright. The future's black and white (and red)!

P.S. If we could somehow flog off Zach or Martell to get a pick that nabbed Roy Hibbert (who I think is an excellent center) along with Durant, then I would be over the moon a la the day we robbed the rest of the NBA and got LMA, BRoy and Sergio.

Blazer's Edge Season Ticket Seating Question

Hey guys. I'm a long time reader, first time diary poster. I've been fortunate enough (thanks to flex book and a buddy who works for the team) to attend about 14 games this season. Me and some buddies are planning on picking up at least a half season ticket package (22 games) for next year. I'd like to keep it under $1000 and there are some 200 level seats in the end zone(208, 209, 223, 224) for $550 for a half season.

Here is the link: http://www.nba.com/blazers/tickets/arena.html

So I guess what I'm asking is, where do you guys like to sit and where do you think you get the most bang for your Rose Garden buck?
