Way back before the Pens were saved (the first time) by Mario, I read an article in the paper that the Pens management decided to reimburse season ticket holders a certain amount of money due to their suck. I instantly became a Pens fan after that (1982? 1983?).
My grandfather was a 'Skins, Cardinals and Illini fan, so that's where the rest of my geographically challenged fan-i-tude comes from.
